Russell Hobbs Easy Clean Multi-Cooker RHMC20
VerifiedMPN: RHMC201 review
Slow cook function not great – I returned this product after 3 attempts at using the slow cook function, each of which failed. 1st one was a casserole. The saute function worked great, but after I added the rest of the ingredients and turned it down to slow cook (low setting), there was no bubbling & it didn't look like it was cooking properly. Being a new appliance, I ignored my instinct and let it cook for 7 hours then tested. The vegies were still hard. Not just firm, hard as in not cooked. So I turned it up to high for 2 hours and it was edible. 2nd test was a piece of beef brisket. Not huge. Let it slow cook on low for 10 hours before putting in the oven for 15 mins to brown the outside. Went to slice it and it was not fully cooked. So back in on high for a couple of hours before trying again, it was cooked. 3rd and final try was a pork shoulder. I didn't trust it fully by now so set it to between low-high, tending more to the high. Left for 7 hours, same result as the beef - had to put it back in for another hour & half fully on the high setting. It might be ok on some of the other settings, but don't purchase if you're looking for a slow cooker. It was very easy to clean though. I'm now looking at either Instant Pot or Crockpot.
Purchased in at Big W for $95.
The first thing I did was contact Russell Hobbs via their contact page, then on Facebook. Their response was to brown the meat prior to slow cooking - they obviously did not read my comment properly. They suggested I email Spectrum, which I did. Their recommendation was to return the product, so that's what I did.
