Russell Hobbs Turbo Rice Cooker RHRC20BLK (Matte Black)

Purchased from Good Guys, used it the first day , the glass top doesnt seal correctly. When you do the rice the mess it makes from seeping through the gaps, and over the top and when its on warm, the rice doesnt stay warm as the heat escapes through the gap of the glass lid and the edge of the bowl. Its not the best picture attached, but the mess is all the rice residue around the glass top and the around the sides from the splatters. It leaks all in between the glass lid, Dont buy it and get a rice cooker that has a pull down lid or at least closes and covers the entire pot...you cant even return it as it now been used..
Purchased in at The Good Guys for $69.
Cannot cook rice - stops randomly and flicks to ‘keep warm’ mode, which is useless. We got a few months of use from it then this started, and it has continued around 2/3 cooks. It’s now in the bin and probably on the way to landfill. This is not high technology and a brand like Russell Hobbs that is all about kitchen gear should be able to boil rice. Avoid.

Only 12 months old. Will not turn on if more than 2 cups rice added. When cooking 2 cups of rice, it keeps flicking of to the keep warm stage and the cook switch will not stay down. Terrible appliance

No Thanks, I am going to buy another brand, this one is gone in the bin.
Most likely deadly and in the Trash! – I had been using a cheap rice cooker from Kmart and it worked wonderfully. I was even lazy enough to wash it in the dishwasher when it stated not to and it came out fine. After awhile (8 months) of treating it rough (using metal utensils and dishwashing it) it showed a bit of wear and I thought I should replace it. Why am I talking about a rubbish Kmart rice cooker you might ask…well it was a gem, an absolute gem compared with the Russell Hobbs turbo rice cooker. When deciding on a new rice cooker I knew I wanted something safe for the dishwasher. This one was dishwasher safe and a reasonable price. The first time I used it my rice was not cooked at all. I assumed I did something wrong, although this never happened with my cheap rice cooker. I then go and put the bowl and lid in the dishwasher. It came out completely wrecked. The coating on the outside had mostly come off. (It looked way worse then my heavily used and abused rice cooker pot of 8 months- after one wash!!!) When I touched it my hands came away silver and smelling of bitterness. I thought, well it clearly states it is dishwasher safe, maybe this is suppose to happen. I tried cooking with it once more and the house smelled like burning spray paint. I can’t believe I subjected myself and family to this thing. Anywho it is now sitting in our trash. I thought I could return it but the burning chemical smell never dissipated and I was not bringing it back in my house. Money wasted and just some more junk for the landfill. Not to mention the life altering chemicals I brought into my home.
Update: the representatives got back to me. They were so kind to offer me another machine to make my family ill. Most assuringly the representative told me that although it states I can dish wash it, he wouldn’t recommend doing so.
Purchased in at Catch for $60.
