I picked this up at Bunnings on a good deal, blissfully unaware that I was also purchasing a flat-pack lifestyle choice. Turns out this vacuum requires assembly instructions, parts, commitment, very IKEA, but without the complimentary meatballs. In hindsight, probably explains the price. Once assembled, I hit the power button and was immediately… Read more
convinced a Lancaster Bomber was attempting take-off in my living room. This thing is loud. Like “pause, look around, wait for the neighbours to complain” loud. I genuinely checked the windows.
Suction-wise… look, I’ve seen better suction on a hungover mozzie stuck to a flyscreen. With the nozzles on, it didn’t exactly cut the mustard. Take the nozzles off and it improves still not long-distance suction, but at least it’s having a go.
That said, for the price, it’s… fine. It does the job if your expectations are realistic and your ears are prepared. Not a luxury experience, more a utility-grade, shout-at-it-over-the-noise situation.
Would I buy it again? Maybe, but only after warning the household, the neighbours, and possibly air traffic control.
This wet and dry vacuum works really well on dust and dirt, I haven’t tried it as a wet vacuum so won’t review that part. Currently it is being used during renovation, vacuuming is on particle board, it picks up fine particles really well, the floor head has 4 slots which does tend to stop larger pieces and I am constantly having to remove pieces… Read more
from the slots so the vac can then suck them up, I have also used it with a detail sander attached, it definitely reduces the amount of the dust in the air.
When fitting the bags make sure they are attached properly especially to the lower part of the bag connection.
Where the hose attaches to the handle, it occasionally pinches my skin if I have my hand back a little bit so this is something to be weary of.
This vacuum is lightweight..very easy to use..great suction..best one I have ever bought ..easy on your back..pulls along easy ..highly recommended..I have bought many in my 60 years but this one is the lightest and easiest to use
Follow-up · This vacuum has a bag that's easy to empty or replace..it filter inside can be brushed with a hand boom when your cleaning it..this vacuum is one you plug into power point not battery powered so it runs as long as you need
I have already put a review in on this product at Bunnings and well what can I say, this the one time that saying Ryobi 1500W 30L Wet And Dry Vacuum really sux is a complement. Massive suck power. This little bugger could suck start a Jumbo jet. Really good as a shop vac, however, I do a lot of minor handyman jobs and the thing is while the 4… Read more
meter long vac pipe is really good. It need a swivel joint at the end of the hose. It has one where you connect the hose to the vacuum unit, but I find that without a swivel joint at the end of the hose the hose keeps tangling. I have a Dyson $700 vac which in my opinion is a piece of crap, but it has a swivel at the end of the hose and that is nice. Also do not like the floor attachment, it needs improvement, with the massive suction on the unit, the floor sweeper sticks to the floor. I am looking around for an attachment off another vac that I can adapt.
What a piece of useless rubbish. This vac doesn't perform, the hose will pinch your fingers, the floor head only works in one direction on surfaces, the build quality is cheap. Found this the worst vacuum I have ever come across. Next hard rubbish collection guess where it will be Show details
Smoking vacuum – Payed $120 and Died after 1 year with smoke motor Show details
Worst purchase ever!!! – Worst purchase ever!!!! Wouldn't suck up a potato chip crumb!!! Save your receipt so you can take it back and get another brand. Oh and the battery doesn't come with it, and it's useless too. 20 minutes max time. Show details
The most useless vacuum I’ve ever used – Can’t comment on the wet function but the suction power for dry vacuuming is very poor! Show details
Good sucker bad atachments – The vacuum has good suction but the hose is like wrestling a boa constricter unusable, the floor attachment is like an ashtray on a motor bike absolutely useless. To use the floor attachment on carpet you can only drag it backwards and on hard floors it tilts off the floor very frustrating. Best vacuum I've owned or used!! – I'm a construction cleaner and I have been using my ryobi 30L for 3 years now. I've been using the PowerFit H13 HEPA cartridge filter, PowerFit 30L E11 Dust Bag with it and the suction is still excellent. I was so impressed that I also bought the 20L last year to use at home. Thought this was good but No – I’m very upset had this vac for couple months. The hose keeps getting kinks in it. Now the house has come apart from handle. Show details
Mostly positive but faulty wheel(s) – Good little cleaner especially for the price. Elec cord a bit short. My only negative is that each time I have used it one of the wheels falls off and this is very annoying! It first occurred on the initial usage. I am unable to tell if it is the same wheel or not.. More of a hassle than it's worth – Purchased this vacuum because I needed something powerful with a decent sized drum to use in the wood working workshop and garages. What made me choose this machine was the 1500w motor, the 30L barrel and the stainless steel suction pipes. All that would be great if the unit didn't keep clogging it self up at the barrel inlet. Due to the way… Read more
this machine is designed, there is not much room between the barrel inlet and the filter in the barrel and because the filter takes up the best part of the barrel, it doesn't allow the dustbag to expand, causing it clog.

can't buy a filter – tried to buy a filter for my 12201-g 185cm x 130 cm. 20 litre..no one seems to stock this size even Ryobi gave me part wrong number Show details
I want my Shop Vac back – I had a shopvac for years and it worked perfectly in my workshop and on site. Thought I'd update and give my shopvac to my son. What a mistake. The only redeeming feature is the tool control. I.e. when I'm using a sander the sander operates the vacuum. Other than that it is the worst vacuum ever. Most of the suction is lost because of hose. The… Read more
hose is far too small in diameter, too long and the rough surface of the inside of the hose all combine to create way too much resistance. This can be felt while putting the hose on and off with the vacuum running. The filter clogs regularly and is difficult to clean. It needs to be revisited by someone who knows how vacuum cleaners work.
Good suction Cheap components – Snapped the vacuum stick in the first 10 seconds of use. Thin plastic that is not suitable for the job obviously. Suction seemed ok but it's going back to Bunnings and I think I will pass on anything Ryobi from now on. Show details
Still looks like new – Purchased quite a few years ago and was hardly used. I went to use it for the first time myself to vacuum the car, but it wouldn't turn on at all. Then the huge on/off switch broke, so yeah still all shiny and new but totally useless. Never again. Show details
Good Vacuum but could be better – I bought this vac primarily to remove rainwater from a flooded concrete garage floor. It did this job well & has good suction. The good points:- - Great suction, powerful motor. - Sucks up water very well & fast too. - Not too noisy but certainly not quiet. - Nice design & great attractive stainless steel barrel - The barrel & motor seems quite… Read more
rugged & should give long service if looked after properly.
The not so good:- - Supposedly 20L capacity but only removes about 13L of liquid before it needs to be emptied. I confirmed this by weighing it considering 1L = 1Kg. - Only comes with a flat bristle head which is fine for smooth surfaces but no good for carpet with any pile as it won't slide over carpet. Only other accessory is a crevice tool. - Lack of accessories. It really needs an additional smooth (no bristle) flat head for carpets & a small flat upholstery head. - As mentioned above the wide flat head with nylon bristles is useless on carpet as the bristles grab the pile preventing it from sliding over the surface. - Difficult to take apart long wand once jammed together & very hard to remove flat head after prolonged use as it tends to grab probably due to added grit getting in between the head & tube join. Twist lock would be better like used at end of hose onto barrel & preferably an aluminium no bend tube instead of plastic. - Wet filter is quite flimsy so you need to be very careful when installing it.
Read everything – Reviews bosch and Ryobi Ryobi Please read everything I am a bosch user, or I was. I am woodworking, and I have almost everything brand bosch, such as impact driver, drill, planer, sander, drop saw, circular saw, router and jigsaw. My first mistake was with a drop saw GCM 12 GDl. I wasted my money; it is not accurate and weak. And $1000 I am… Read more
not able to get Dewalt and throw away GCM. My second mistake was trying to get a vacuum cleaner 18V 10l bosch. I don't know what to say, but it is rubbish, the vacuum make strong static electricity. Bosch said it was normal. Ridiculous, but anyway. I sent the vacuum to the service centre, and the motor will be replaced, and it will take two months because the service centre has no the part to replace it.
I bought Ryobi 20 stainless. Amazing, fantastic, strong, powerful. Half price, double capacity, two times more powerful. The socket is 35mm ( same bosch tools ). And a table saw Dewalt.
You don't need to waste $899 dust collector or vacuum bosch or Dewalt.
Advice: bosch says six years warranty, try to read everything about it and bosch has no more quality and customer service is terrible. if you are thinking to buy any bosch power tools
I strongly recommend that you try to work the Ryobi. Don't waste your money as I did
Good price and effective – It does a great job. I have carpeted floors which is a bit harder to keep clean if the vacuum doesn’t have a good suction but this one exceeded my expectations. Great price. It does need to change bags occasionally, but it lasts for so long. So I don’t think it’s a problem Show details
Bought to change sand filter – I bought this machine to remove 160kg of wet old sand from my pool sand filter. It did the job very well and the cost compares favourably to hiring. The stainless steel feels a little flimsy but at least that makes it light when the motor is detached when carting the wet sand away. Show details
WORKHORSE – Great suction , had it over 10 years , used for all our renovations and still going strong .Plaster and concrete dust , no problem and wet use in garden equally as powerful. Excellent value for money. Can highly recommend. Show details

Poor Spare Part Accessibility – Whilst a powerful and reliable , unfortunately the spare parts required more suited to this climate are difficult to locate? The foam filter, and the rubber sealing beading on the lid are extremely difficult to find a provider on line! In this climate the Garden effluence soon degrades the Foam filter. I have had it for over a year and would… Read more
recommend the supplier provides 3 foam filters standard with details on replacement in the UK? That would be at least 5 star rating. I use it to clean artificial grass.
I'm extremely happy – I purchased this vacuum a month ago from Bunnings for $99 with the intention of using it to clean up ongoing renovation mess. Pros: It is more powerful than I anticipated, the suction is better than our $300 Wertheim vacuum! It is extremely easy to pull around, even when it's getting full. At $99, you can't go wrong! Cons: The suction tube is… Read more · 2
made from several pieces of plastic pipe that push together to give you a desired length. I found the tube bends/flexes easily and for this reason I have to add a negative!
I've never left a review before however felt compelled to do so for this vacuum cleaner because honestly I am so impressed with its performance compared to our relatively more expensive German made jobby purchased from Godfrey's. I use this vacuum cleaner every day now, especially on the carpet because it gets the dog hair up so successfully.
A good industrial vaccum cleaner – Suites well for industrial use. Dry as well as wet vaccum works perfectly well. Design feature is not good. Also the powerful motor sucks everything into it effectively and in fast paced manner Show details
Needs work – This is a cheap vacuum around $99 that performs ok but gets kind of irritating to use as you go on. Two real problems: the tube feels plasticy and cheap and continually comes apart, even when you jam it together. A better solution would be to have tubes that click together rather than rely on compression. Secondly, the cord is woefully short. Why… Read more
would you have normal vacuums with great retractable cords and then a workshop vacuum which you have to move when you get out of range? The whole thing looks like an exercise in cost cutting but i would have happily paid a little extra to have something more user friendly. It's a lovely colour though...
Not enough suction – I have purchased this vaccum cleaner and I thought it is going to be a perfect vaccum for timber floor and carpets but it turns out to be useless, it doesn’t even have enough suction for timber floor imagine how you are going to clean your carpet! You will need to take out the extension wand and sit on the floor then vaccum directly using the… Read more
flexible hose. Imagine how long it will take to completely finish your work! I don’t recommend this product to any one.
Powerful – It is a high power vacuum that sucks very well I am very happy with it’s suction power, it is very light weight and does not make too much sound and very easy to work with. I used it on carpet on tiles almost everywhere in house , I just love this vacuum. Show details
Effective and Economic – At $89, this 20 litre unit has proven to be a good value solution and fit for purpose. Purchased it for the purpose of cleaning out my pool's sand filter. This little unit moved 120kg of wet sand/slurry out the sand filter through a small access surprisingly well. The 3 piece wand and fittings are robust and the suction is effective. steel bucket (20litres) is a comfortable size and the castors provide great mobility. The product is fine for DIY. Overall I am happy with the performance and value.
great vacuum - sucks up even the finest dust! – I saw this vac when a tradie was using it on my reno job. Went straight to Bunnings and bought it the next day! It is easy to manoeuvre about and the bag is large enough not to need replacing very often. With wooden floors it is the best thing, sucking up all the fine dust and cat hair. Recommend! Show details
good for sucking up down feathers – Not happy not enough suction, continually having to clean filter, even with filter cover in place. The vacuum head impractical scrapes across floor perhaps ok for sucking styrofoam beads, small feathers etc, dust? forget it seems pointless having 30 litre capacity when even with a handful of dust you need to remove head any way to clean filter ,may as well empty drum at the same time Show details
A vacuum for the rough jobs – We bought this for cleaning outdoors, under the Pergola and in the Garage, where I prefer not to use my Dyson. We paid just $89 and it appears to work very well for its purpose. The 1.8m plastic hoses are cheap and tacky, but they managed to vacuum inside my car adequately this morning. Suction is good, haven't tried the blower bit as yet. Show details
