I'm glad I didn't buy another electric vac stick – My carpet sweeper looks slightly different to the picture shown (it's all green on the base) but it works well on my carpet picking up hair and dust I didn't even know was there. I keep my carpet pretty tidy so I am surprised it's still collecting and is easy to just empty into the rubbish bin. It only requires hand power action back and forth for a good clean.

I don't find it as good on my tiles but then again it is called a 'Carpet' sweeper. I am happy with my purchase and I recommend.

Purchased in at BigW for $33.

Useless product – I bought a Sabco carpet sweeper 2 months ago. I have used it once a week on my new carpet between vacuuming. It does not pick up crumbs, the small brushes get clogged up with hair fluff very quickly and wear down then the sweeper 'bunny hops' and dumps the contents of its dust pans onto your carpet. The handle is too short and I am in need of a chiropractor for my aching back after using it. Total waste of time and money !! price doesn't pick up crumbs, brushes clogged and worn easily, handle too short , hops and dumps dust on carpet

we purchased 4 carpet sweepers for our indoor bowls mats and they are doing a great job. We asked sabco for some handle extensions and they happily provided them for us. Great to deal with Show reply

Dog lovers delight!! – I have a Shar Pe cross Kelpie rescue dog and he sheds fine hair like crazy especially if he's anxious. But! My new Whisk away Carpet Sweeper is just the ticket for cleaning up the tumble weeds, fur, in the hall and around the carpet areas he frequents. It saves me getting out the very heavy bulky Dyson!! My Mum at 93 had a Sabco carpet sweeper… Read more ·  1

A 'quick' clever clean – For that 'quick' clever clean! No cords, no power points, no lugging around 'overpriced' heavy equipment up and down stairs. I couldn't stop at one, so I brought two! Show details ·  1

Whisks away crumbs, fluff etc quickly and easily – This sweeper is very light and easy is to use. Much better than dragging out the vacuum cleaner for those few crumbs. Brilliant for a quick spruce up. When I empty it I give all 3 brushes a quick clean with the tool provided . Handy tip, use what used to be called a “man’s little pocket comb” to clean the 2 roller brushes. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks Sabco Show 2 replies

Very useful sweeper – I’ve had this a year now (think I bought it at Bunnings). It’s very useful for my small house with its low-pile carpet. It saves me having to vacuum so often. I have cats and I have long hair, and it’s remarkable how much general grot and fluff this sweeper picks up - it even picks up bits of litter. The one small drawback, not enough to knock a… Read more ·  1

star off imo, is that the teeth on the plastic comb aren’t really strong enough for cleaning long hair out of the brushes. They bent and almost broke early on. I chucked it and use a metal comb instead.

Perfect for artificial turf – Whilst not a big fan of artificial turf, I have some in shaded areas where grass wouldn’t grow. At a friend’s suggestion, I bought a Sabco carpet sweeper and it is without doubt, the absolute best thing ever for easy removal of all the small leaves and blossom that continually falls on it. It took away the very exhausting work of sweeping with… Read more ·  1

Works amazing until it doesn’t – *edit* very quick response from the team, thank you! Just awaiting response to my email and will update once resolved. I LOVED it. It was the perfect tool for a house that is 90% carpet and has a toddler running around haha. That was up until the handle snapped off while giving the lounge a quick once over post snack time. Upon closer inspection, the weld where the handle is attached to the sweeper head is very small. Very unfortunate :(  Show details

I fully agree with Rob – Bought the first one 2 years ago and love it....decided to take one to India in July last year (both bought at Bunnings Tweed Heads NSW) Externally looked the same, but the original had thick brownish coloured bristles in the middle and the side ones were much better. New one...thin spindly black plastic. Not as easy to empty or clean. Not happy.… Read more

The old model worked the new one is rubbish – Every 3 months or so we would buy the Sabco carpet sweeper here in NZ at Mitre 10 Mega. The latest one we have bought is a changed model! No doubt some millennial thought they could do a better job by re-engineering it which is obviously not so! It is now useless, it no longer cleans carpets of dog fur properly nor of anything! Whoever… Read more

re-engineered it should be sacked as well as the person who approved the re-engineering of an item which has perfect for many generations! We will no longer be buying the Sabco carpet sweeper as a result and so Sabco have successfully ruined their business selling these "updated" carpet sweepers. They only cost us $36 each here at Mitre 10 Mega but the updated models are not even worth a dollar to us, that is how useless they are. If you wish to save your business Sabco, return to the old design!

You will be amazed at how well it works! – I remember carpet sweepers being used by my grandparents and was delighted to see they are still made! You will be amazed at how well it’s works - it picks up so much fluff and debris! However, for me, the handle stops it being a 5 star product. It is metal, yes, but is thin, comes in three parts to be screwed together. I couldn’t… Read more ·  1

screw the metal handle to the base completely, it felt like I would break it if I forced it. However, it IS secure and not wobbly. There is a green plastic top you attach to the top.

My biggest gripe is the length - with the handle attached the unit is just over a metre tall. I would pay extra to have an extra piece included for us tall people to have the option to attach. (Perhaps Sabco sells them, will have to look into it.)

I would much rather see a lightweight one piece handle like you would get on a mop - I know this would add to the price but I think it would be well worth it.

The whole unit isn’t has robust as those 70’s ones I remember, however it is lightweight, compact and works really, really well.

With pets I have to vacuum daily, and was looking at a stick vacuum after using them now and then, but I can honestly say this works as well on my low pile carpet as any stick vacuum.

With this carpet sweeper, I should only have to drag the dreaded vacuum out once a week like a normal person!

For $35 it is an amazing product!

Perfect for Cat Owners! – This is the best purchase we’ve made, as we were wanting to pick up cat fur from our two cats (vacuum is not just not efficient). I remembered we had a Sabco sweeper when I was a kid, so suggested that we try and find one, which we did at Bunnings. Works a treat, better than the vacuum. Only problem - the handle broke off (the weld is quite small). Show details

Fantastic Sabco Wisk-Away Carpet Sweeper – I bought the new Sabco Wisk-Away Carpet Sweeper from Big W as an alternative to pulling out the electric vacuum cleaner. It's great at picking up hair, crumbs, and dust on my short pile carpet. It's quick, easy to use and empty, no strain on my back and does an excellent job. Had an issue with the plastic part of the handle and Sabco sent me another one no problem, such a nice company to deal with. Show details ·  1

Why didn't I get one sooner? – $33 at Bunnings. My best purchase this year by far. I have a large fluffy black cat, always rolling around and shedding on my beige carpet. I also have a barrel "D" brand vacuum cleaner with a turbo head. Well that doesn't work. I bought one of those rubber broom thingys. That doesn't work. Have purchased 3 different stick vacuums. Junk. … Read more ·  1

Wasted hours researching "D" brand stick vacs, tried them too, more junk. Was using the hard floor brush on my "D" vac, that worked, but took forever and super hard work. Don't get me wrong.... I wouldn't trade my vac in , it's great. I just don't want to drag it out everyday. My carpet sweeper. The best. Haven't used the vac for a week now. Just a quick, quiet whizz around with the sweeper, looks like I've been at it all day. I also sew..... a lot. Bwahaha! Guess what! It picks up threads too.

Useful and effective tool – This environmentally friendly little carpet sweeper appears to be very efficient in picking up stuff and fluff off our carpet and is very easy to use and push to and fro. My only criticism is that the handle is too flimsy and way too short. Why? All other Sabco cleaning devices have robust long handles. Perhaps it is only to be used by midgets? Show details ·  8

Swept Away By This Sweeper – This is the perfect addition to my household cleaning items. I use it daily and it is as good as running the vacuum around. I have pets and it picks up the pet hair and bits from the carpet. I am so glad I bought it. I give it 10/10 Show details

Too good – I went to buy a vacuum for my upstairs bed rooms and corridor though a lady from Epping Bunnings suggested me Sabco sweeper, I was so confused whether it would fulfill my purpose, now I can’t live a without it, too perfect, I use it for whole house, good for both tiles and carpet. I highly recommend this product and pray for this lady who suggested this one.  Show reply

Whisk Away – Hi just bought Sabco Whisk Away Carpet Sweeper. Love carpet sweepers but this sweeper has a handle that's too short. I thought it might save my back but the short handle just aggravates it. Would think twice again, might take it back don't think its worth the $35.00 from Big W.

Disappointed – I purchased this sweeper from Bunnings to use it at my holiday house for those quick clean ups instead of bringing out the vacuum. However, I have been terribly disappointed. re Useless product – Of course it will clog up if you only use it once a week and you have pet hair on the floors. I too am an invalid it it takes very little effort to use at least every 2nd day. My Cleaning woman comes once a fortnight and uses my vacuum cleaner then I use my carpet sweeper in between.  Show reply

Mine is 44 years old – I got it as a wedding gift. At the time, I said why should I keep it ??? I have a vacuum cleaner. Well, it still works and it still picks up lots of dust and dirt after 44 years (got married in 1972). I LOVE my Sabco. Could not live without it and I am glad that I will be able to replace it it ever breaks.

So much easier than getting out vacuum – I used to use one of these cleaners many years ago and did not realize you could still buy them. It is fabulous to clean carpets and rugs in between vacuums. I was a bit confused what the difference was between Triple Action Sweeper and Whisk Away but a quick phone call to Sabco confirmed they are one and the same. Easy to use and empty. The only down side is the handle is too short. Such a good product for the price.  Show reply

this is perfect, great product. Thanks for all reviewer! – Thanks guys for your reviews, it helped me made decision to buy one from Bunning. Great product. For $30 dollar, if it's broke, I will buy another straight away. Use it everyday and can't live without it now. It's cheap, easy to handle for my 8 year old kid :), no need to worry battery so environment friendly. Works great in carpet and also alright for tile.

Great little timesaver – I bought this carpet sweeper from Big W a few years ago. I'm very happy with it. It's such a time saver to go over kitchen (big) and lounge without having to drag out the vacuum cleaner. A couple of hints, however. I sew and I get threads all through my house. It's no good for picking these up as they wind themselves around the brushes and are a… Read more
