The most basic router I have ever seen – This is not a good router. It is very basic such that you cannot do much in terms of configurations. Very basic interface with very limited options. We experience frequent dropouts, requiring us to sometimes restart or reset the router. Optus should upgrade to better stuff. Show details
This router is complete rubbish. Why Optus would supply it is beyond me – Pity the person who signs up to Optus and this device appears. What a terrible experience for a user. * The interface is absolutely terrible. * Functionality is poor, couldnt even make a dhcp reservation without finding a hack on the internet. * Constant packet loss of around 5 to 10% just to the modem. * Cant replace the modem since Optus… Read more
dont provide Voip settings so will lose the landline if I wanted (and I really do!) replace it. * please bring on the contract end so I can escape!!
Woeful router – This is the first time I have ever done an online review of anything. I have been a loyal Optus customer for 15 years. Up until recently I had enjoyed the old Optus cable internet service which performed flawlessly over that period. I could count the number of service outages on one hand that we had with our old cable service. Our area has been… Read more
forced over to NBN. I decided to go with Optus based on our previous good service. We were supplied this terrible router as pat of the two year contract with them. Straight away we got continual dropouts, Netflix would not stream without dropping out. CCTV cameras would not work at all. Optus sent me another Sagecom router - same problem. After many hours of wasted time trying to get back our basic service it was suggested by a non Optus party to throw the Sagecom to the kerb and purchase a TP Link AC3150 router. As soon as I hooked this up all problems were resolved. Save yourself the grief and wasted hours if your Sagecom router is playing up and do what I did - throw it in the bin. Optus if your listening - why are you supplying such an inferior modem/router on your two year contracts?
Not impressed so far – Optus installed this modem 3 months ago when we switched over to the NBN from cable. We have experienced regular drop outs and other problems requiring us to reset the modem. The wifi range is also very poor - poorer than our old Optus modem/router, and it does not cover large parts of the house. If this was not the modem automatically provided by Optus I would not buy it.
