Was a great tv.. until a fault occurred in the bottom left hand screen. Purchased in 2021 and it gave out today August 2025. $1700 for an unreliable tv. It also over heats and is very unsafe as it can cause a fire. But Samsung don’t take priority for that clearly as I am going around in circles for even a simple resolution. Show details
Samsungs quality has slipped and customer service is disappointing – Purchased a Samsung UA75AU8000W 75" Crystal UHD end of 2001. Towards end of last year started having problems with it turning on off, with red standby LED flashing a couple of times and screen black, as if in a boot loop. Would turn off for a few hours and it would work again. Also noticed two areas on the screen were a bit darker from top to… Read more
bottom. Came back from holidays and now it continually does it. Phoned customer service and they said it was out off warranty and it should be binned. Been looking online for a fix, and have read a lot of reports that this is a common fault with Samsung TVs - faulty LED panels. I have a Samsung 32" that is at least 10 years old, still going strong. They don't make them like they use to.
Did not last long – Bought the unit in 2021. It was perfect... for about two years. On Jan 2024 , half of the screen went black. i was lucky i purchased extended 5 yrs warranty. i contacted the store who agreed to give me store credit for same price when i bought the tv. but it should last longer than two years. i have another 2 Samsung tv at home( smaller screen… Read more

(being a little over a year) before it suddenly went bad on me and the screen went dark in areas and was unwatchable. Although I didn’t take out the extended warranty and the year warranty had lapsed, Samsung still stood behind their product and fixed it for us. Because of this, I will always purchase and recommend Samsung products to anyone. Any other company probably would have just told me that I was out of luck and to spend thousands of dollars on a new one but not Samsung. They clearly stand behind their product.
The Samsung AU8000 Review. How is it in 2023? – The Samsung AU8000 is an affordable 4K television that promises to deliver quality viewing experiences for those on a budget. However, it's important to understand its strengths and weaknesses to see if it truly lives up to those promises. Starting with its strengths, the Samsung AU8000 has a high contrast ratio, which is great news for movie… Read more · 1
lovers. This means that blacks will appear deeper and whites will appear brighter, providing a more dynamic viewing experience. Additionally, it has great reflection handling, making it a great option for those with a few lights in the room. This is especially useful for those who enjoy watching TV shows and sports, as it reduces the amount of distracting reflections on the screen. And for those who enjoy gaming, the AU8000 has low input lag, both in and outside of Game Mode, ensuring a responsive gaming experience.
On the other hand, the Samsung AU8000 does have its share of weaknesses. Firstly, it lacks a local dimming feature, which would have improved the contrast even further by making the black levels deeper. Additionally, it doesn't get very bright in either SDR or HDR, so it may struggle to bring out the highlights in brighter scenes. Another issue is its slow response time, which causes motion to appear blurry, making it less than ideal for fast-paced action scenes.
One other thing to consider is its viewing angles. The Samsung AU8000 has narrow viewing angles, which means that the image may appear washed out when viewed from the side. This means that it's not the best option for those with wide seating arrangements.
In conclusion, the Samsung AU8000 is an entry-level 4K TV that has its strengths and weaknesses. It's great for those who enjoy watching movies and TV shows in a dark room, but it may not be the best option for those with wide seating arrangements or for those who enjoy fast-paced action scenes. It's low input lag and great reflection handling make it a decent option for gamers, but it's slow response time may cause some issues. Ultimately, it's up to the individual to decide whether the AU8000 is the right TV for them, taking into consideration their specific needs and preferences.
Lasted only 6 Months - worst product and worst customer service – I bought this TV 6 months ago, one day suddenly without any prior warning signs, the screen panel started to fed (black) from rightside. At first I thought the screen settings get messed up so I reset the unit but the problem remains the same. Then within few hours the screen started to go black from left side as well. At last the whole screen… Read more
panel went black and all I can see was a bright light in the middle as well as at the bottom.
TV has good options but spending $1850 on a TV which doesn't last 6 months is a complete wastage. Also Samsung as a company has a terrible customer services. Even after 2 weeks I am not getting any response except "we are investigating". I must say when it comes to warranty claims, Samsung would be a nightmare. I wish I did go with Sony instead.
Light off after two months – I purchased 75 inch tv in april 22 and in june 22, just after the 2 months a black shade is coming in the screen. I am scared what will happen after warranty period Show details

Beautiful TV for 95% of applications – This TV is beautiful, Slim and gives a gorgeous picture. Even better it is super affordable for what you get. You can basically get a 75" 4K UHD TV for just under $2k AUD. pretty hard to beat that really. Also works beautifully with the Samsung Q600A soundbar. And if you watch movies or like to game then I highly recommend getting a Samsung Q… Read more
series sound bar as they sync seamlessly and are designed to work together. And the sound quality combined is beautiful!
If I had a criticism, and the only reason why I gave 4 not 5 stars... is the quality 'blacks'. I understand the different projection methods give different quality black projections, just this was something that was never explained to me when I bought it (notice they only ever show beautiful high colour pictures in the shop?). To be honest it probably wouldn't have swayed my decision as the price point for what you get is excellent. But if you are unaware and you watch a show with alot of dark spaces (think night-time, shadows, out of space etc.), then you will be looking at it thinking.. is this really 4K? It can be pretty poor and disappointing.
But like my title states. For 95% of viewing you can't go wrong. and for the price I am happy to overlook average dark scenes.
All in all it is a great TV for the price. Highly recommend.
This is a remarkable TV set – I now have the best possible colour and clarity I could wish for. I particularly watch a lot of sport. With this TV, I now have a picture as clear as being there. Show details
Just had it a day so far and it is brilliant!! – We bought the samsung 75 inch tv and had it installed on the wall after having smaller free standing tvs in the past. When the box arrived we wondered if we had chosen a set that was literally too big for comfort, but once installed and the basic functions explained, we could be more delighted. The set does not overpower our room, but seamlessly… Read more · 1
blends in- somehow hanging it on the wall makes it less intrusive than a smaller freestanding tv on a tv table!
One of the amazing functions of the set is the voice operated remote control, ask it to change channel and it does- increase volume and up the volume goes in controlled increments- change source and that’s what happens. And it doesn’t matter if it’s my voice command or my wife’s and we have very different accents!
The picture quality is as good as our previous smaller screen models and the sound is quite comparable too. The tv connects easily to the home internet and the set details are automatically registered at the push of a button
The set is preloaded with viewing options, netflix, stan, youtube, catch up, free to air( which it quaintly describes as terrestrial tv) etc etc and the internet connection allows plenty of other app choices to be installed
All in all we are both mesmerised by the tv and very happy with our purchase!
Very good TV and smart functions – I love the size and clarity. It has good sound and pictures with easy remote control for modern use. the connectivity with wifi is responsive. The remote control can be a bigger and easy to follow functions. I dont recommend this hi tech remote control for seniors as it can be complicated to use. But apart from this for my younger generations, its breeze for them. Indeed a smart TV and price point. Show details
