Samsung D900 (2006)

Good – This would suit a very basic user especially people who are used to the Samsungs and Nokias as their interface is quite similar. I've seen some people have difficulty trying to slide open this phone but I've had no problem with it at all. The buttons are decent sized. The camera is only 3.2mp which is not much compared to the cameras in today's phone but there are different effects you can use which is quite fun. lightweight, easy to use, screen size is decent, sound is loud, speakerphone, camera has flash, expandable memory. I've dropped the phone many many times and sometimes on hard concrete and the phone is still going fine. Screen cracked a bit but it's actually unbelievable durable. i've had this phone for 2yrs+ and it is starting to lag a bit.

Bad – Good phone generally, when it worked. Software froze on me twice, second time just one month out of warranty. Now it's in the bin. Slim, lightweight, good bright screen, user friendly menu. Stopped working twice - once during warranty period, and second time one month out of warranty. Battery life very poor. Slide mechanism clumsy. Finger prints all over screen. Camera photo and video quality not that great. Very limited memory size.

OK – An ok phone that could have been better designed to help with protective purposes. If you employ a protector probably a good phone, but because the screen cracking happened so early i can not rate this phone higher due to the lack of support of a frequently occuring problem given by samsung or other phone companies - many reviews of others who have experienced this screen cracking problem. Good size, lightweight, easy to use, good design, effective slide. The graphics are good with a 3.2meg camera employed and very good colour and clarity on the screen. Fits easily into your pocket - but this may not be such a good idea when you read my cons. The screen is too close to the casing and has minimal protection unless a cover is employed to protect it. Quite disappointing as this is not covered by warranty and we had to fork out over $100 for a replacement when it cracked in his pocket, we didn't even notice a bump or anything when it happened. OUCH.
