My Samsung ducted air conditioning system was installed as part of my home build in 2017. Recently, the system developed an E320 fault code and stopped operating properly. This has been very frustrating because a ducted air conditioning system is a major household installation, and I expected it to last much longer without this kind of serious… Read more

fault.

I contacted an air conditioning technician, and I was told that E320 is a common issue on some Samsung systems. The technician explained that the unit may be repairable, but also said there is no guarantee the same problem will not happen again in the future. That was especially disappointing to hear, because it suggests the repair may only be a temporary fix rather than a long-term solution. I then contacted Samsung Australia for support. Their response was that the system is outside the 5-year warranty period, so they would not cover it under warranty. I understand that warranties have limits, but for a built-in ducted air conditioning system, I believe consumers reasonably expect better durability and reliability than this.

What concerns me most is not only the fault itself, but the overall long-term dependability of the product. When a central air conditioning system fails with a known or common issue and even a repair technician cannot give confidence that it will remain fixed, it raises serious questions about product quality and suitability for Australian conditions.

At this stage, I am left paying for diagnosis and repairs on a system that I believe should have lasted longer. For a premium home appliance that is installed as part of the house, this is not the ownership experience I expected. Based on my experience, I would urge other buyers to carefully consider long-term reliability, repair costs, and after-sales support before choosing Samsung ducted air conditioning.

Really poor performance and unresponsive control. Buy a Fujitsu ducted system, they leave the Samsung for dead! – Absolute garbage. This unit is so inefficient. It simply underperforms. 30-32deg days and it struggles, it has to run flat out to get to 25deg. It is the stupidest inverter unit I have used. The unit will not ramp up or down unless there is a significant (6deg) adjustment in set temperature. Even after reaching the desired set temperature (which… Read more

is very rare as it just cannot cope) it does not ramp down. I have to increase the temperature setting to get the compressor to ramp down. I’ve had a 15kw Fujitsu ducted inverter system prior to this one and it was absolutely fantastic. It was efficient, quiet and did what it’s supposed to do. My 16kw Samsung unit is hopeless. I know how these units operate and this system is pathetic. A big thumbs down. I’ll be removing the unit and replacing with another brand. Don’t waste your money.

Very disappointed and frustrated with customer care – I moved in a brand new house with Samsung Ducted reverse cycling system. The air conditioning stops working in less than a few weeks. I called customer care, they sent a technician to check the system and determine whether it a warranty issue. on their product. But I had my worse ever experience with Samsung after sales customer support. I left without heater for more than 5 weeks in freezing cold weather with baby. The technician was keep telling me that he is waiting for parts to come from Samsung. I can't understand why the Samsung technician shouldn't carry a few boards around in their UTE to fix the problem on spot and why it is taking so long to post a part to an Australian major city. I called several times to customer care and every time I was told that they will follow it up and someone will call me back in 24 to 48 hr but no one contacted me. Finally, after I took legal action under the Australian Consumer Law, someone contacted me to apologise for the inconvenient but no timeframe or solution to fix the aircon. When I asked to make a formal complaint, the Samsung care team didn't give me a chance.

I am so disappointed and frustrated that if it was a split system, I was more than happy to throw it away and install a well reputable manufacturer's air con, but removing a ducted system and repairing the damage is expensive and inconvenient.

Samsung 16kW Ducted Air Conditioning (AC160JXAFNH) Pain and Frustration – I have just replaced my working 18 year-old Daikin non-inverter based ducted air conditioning system with a Samsung 16kW inverter based system. The brand new Samsung unit was delivered dead-on-arrival. It was supposed to have 3.5kg of refrigerant pre-loaded from the factory. This had all leaked out. I called the Samsung Customer Care number to… Read more

arrange for a replacement and was immediately treated as a criminal. The operator would not accept that I had a brand new uncommissioned system that needed replacing. She tried to initiate a repair job, but only on condition that my licensed installer had not damaged the system. She then proceeded to read me Samsung’s repair Terms and Conditions all of which were intended to remove Samsung’s obligation to repair a product under warranty. She insisted on sending me a contract to sign which was an obvious attempt to have me sign away my rights under Australian Consumer Legislation (ACL). Finally she settled on having a Samsung contracted installer perform a full audit of what my licensed installer had done. The contractor was a competitor to my installer and had previously quoted me on a non-Samsung ducted system. The audit was done two weeks later and no faults or damage due to the installation were found. A further two weeks later another new unit was delivered only because I had threatened (not idly) to start legal proceedings to enforce my rights under ACL to receive a replacement unit for a product that had been shipped with a major fault. An install which should have taken only two days took thirty days and caused pain and frustration both to myself and my small business licensed installer. He was understandably very concerned about his industry reputation. Samsung’s support for its new air conditioning products and the businesses who install them is disgraceful. Based on my dealings with their customer support, I will have my legal case ready for any future warranty claims.
