Great phone - no complaints – I love this phone. The camera quality is excellent, it's easy to use, it does all the things I need from a smart phone, and it's not ridiculously huge. The screen quality is great too. Very good price point.

A joke. Cannot be charged due to moisture fault – Bought this phone during COVID, so I couldn't return it. Supposed to be water resistant, but you can't charge it if it is wet. Even if it is not wet, you get a moisture alert, and the phone will not charge. Up until this phone I always purchased Samsung Phones. Never again. Show details

Stupid update changes to screen operation – Who ever designed the new operation update should be put back to emptying the office bins, because that all there good for.. if you have the old operation system "don't update" you'll hate the new back button arrangement and the screen flip, now requires pushing a button to flip it onto automatic anymore?? and the button to do this only appears 50% of the time....

Best phone I've ever owned. My company switched from Iphones to Samsung – Really loved this phone. Previously the company I worked for supplied us with Iphones. I loved the A52. The phone was fast, responsive, and seemed to guess what I wanted to do, before I wanted to do it! WIth the Iphon,e I seeemed to have to do multiple inputs for me to do the things I wanted to do. With the A52 it seemed to know what I wanted to… Read more ·  1

do, The camera and video is superb, the ultra wide camera gives stunning landscape shots. The optical image stabilisers irons out wobbly movements you make with the phone. The screen is very bright and clear. Sadly the phone died after three years, probably after multiple drops and using it in a corrosive environment in a spa pool. I'm going to replace it with a Samsung A54.

Scamsung...Mongrel of a phone! – Worst User Interface I've ever encountered on an Android phone (any phone). Search facility is rediculous, spell-checker must have English as a second language, and problems persist despite fortnightly software updates. Decided to try Samsung, thinking it was the premium Android phone. What a mistake that was. Going back to Oppo, or ZTE or Huawei...anything but Scamsung! Show details

Worst phone I've ever owned – I've been using the more budget-friendly Samsung Galaxy phones for a few years now and this is by far the worst I've ever owend despite also being the most expensive. Before this I had the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A20, both of which, whilst smaller and with less features, were far better phones. I've owned this phone for around 18 months and have had… Read more

constant issues over the last 10 of those months. Here are some major problems:

- The screen is often unresponsive to touch, and sometimes even seems to have a mind of its own - All important functions are relatively slow for a phone of it's price and manufacturing year - The charging is a hassle literally every time. I constantly have to fiddle with the cable at various positions and angles to make it charge despite frequently cleaning the port and trying out multiple cables. - The fingerprint scanner, which was always poor in sensitivity and accuracy, has stopped working entirely. It now doesn't even appear on the lock screen and just shows a little error message.

A bit big, poor in regional areas but otherwise OK – This phone is so big that once you add a screen protective case it wont fit in 90% of my pockets. Of course, the minute I take the phone case off for practical reasons, it falls out (very slippery thing) and cracks the screen! Camera is great, battery is awesome but it's receiver is so bad I have to swap my SIM back to a very old S7 in marginal… Read more

Happy I saved the dollars and went mid-range! – I'm actually surprised reading the negative reviews on here about the A52, as previously I always had the latest and most expensive 'S' series Samsung, but decided to save myself literally hundreds of dollars and go the mid range A52 and I couldn't be happier with that choice. Primarily I was looking a phone that could handle me switching… Read more

between social media apps super quickly and that had a quality camera. The A52 actually had a better selfie and rear camera than whatever the latest 'S' series Samsung was at the time. The zoom is great, the 'beauty' filters are awesome, and it has decent storage (I have a million apps and most of the time have hundreds of photos and videos on my phone at once and it's always coped). I do find a slight decrease in speed than the S series phones I've had in the past, but not so much that I would cause it an issue or find it annoying. The quality of the screen is great, I often use it to create videos and edit photos. It seems to be quite durable (has survived quite a few drops with only damage to the screen protector) and seems to hold charge fairly well even with solid use.

I would definitely recommend the A52 if you're wanting to save some bucks but still want a decent smartphone and camera.

Don't make the mistake – Tried to save a few dollars and bought this phone. would never do it again. there's a huge difference between Samsung's high end phones and this one. There's always connectivity issues with android auto, issues with the connection port, forever needing to reset to get the thing working properly. But my biggest bug bear is the camera. (very disappointing). Having owned the phone for about 6 months i'm going to try and sell it a get a decent phone. Show details

What is it trying to say?????? – The phone works - provided Telstra is functioning. The BIG problem that I have is trying to decipher all the different jingles, bells, and other noises it makes. Why on earth don't the phone manufacturers provide a sweet feminine voice (or even a rough one) to say something vaguely sensible - like "you have just received a notification from xxxxx" or "incoming email". Anything would be more useful than "ding"!

I'd expect better – I wanted to upgrade from my 4 years old Huawei ($400 back then) and mainly bought this A52 for the camera specs as I wanted a good camera. I’m not entirely happy with it. Here’s why. - Although the camera specs are several times better than my old phone, the pictures look pretty much the same. I was expecting much better resolution but when I… Read more

zoom in I can see the same blur/grains. - The night mode camera must be a joke. My old phone, when in night mode, had the shutter on for 15-20 seconds and the pics were sharp as a whistle and no grain. A52 for about 5 and full grain. Forget night sky pictures all together. - Finger print reader is pretty temperamental and pretty slow. You need to hold your finger for at least 1 second, often more and often several times. (my old one fracture of a second). Often I end up using the pin code to unlock as it’s quicker. - There’s no LED notification indicator on or around the screen. So to check whether you have any notification, missed call, message, you have to turn the screen on. My old phone had a little flashing LED light. So it if wasn’t flashing, there was no need to unlock the phone. - To turn the phone off/restart you have to hold two buttons (Volume down and power button) simultaneously - If you set your alarm, you can’t turn the phone off. My old one turned itself on just before the alarm went off. - And plenty of other little things I liked more with my old phone.

Things I like: - Battery last forever. Normal use (not watching youtube all day but checking emails, calling, messaging, sat nav, etc) 3 days easy. Watching something all day – easily all day with some charge still left at night. - It charges very quickly with the supplied charger. From 0 to 100% in 2 hours. - Waterproof. I had it in sea water to record a video. Rinsed it with fresh water afterwards and it’s still fine. - Wide angle camera. Good to take pictures indoor.

Fantastic, high-spec phone – I'm not technology-obsessed by any stretch, but I will say that this phone is a fantastic piece of kit. The transition from Apple to Samsung was also pretty easy to work through - albeit I needed to… Read more

search how to screenshot. Otherwise, the available apps are plentiful and the phone is speedy in processing commands and downloads and the like.

Updates have been painless and generally I am a very happy camper - especially for the price point, it feels like it should have been worth twice the price.

If I was going to find a knock on any aspect, it would be the fingerprint recognition which I just can't get to agree with my fingers. I can't say I'm too bothered by that though.

Very good Mid priced phone – Purchased this phone for family member (to replace S8 Samsung) - main usage apart from phone calls is for photo / video and games - we did some investigation first and the 5G 128GB model with 8gb ram seems to be the "sweet spot" - the 4G model has a 90HZ refresh screen which is nice but this very bright super amoled 120HZ 6.5" (165mm) refresh… Read more

screen is beautiful - no other way to describe it! Phone has 5 cameras all up (5mp macro @ F2.4; Main camera 64mp @ F1.8 (good for low light); ultra wide 123 degree 12 mp @ F2.2); depth camera to adjust "depth of field" 5mp @ F2.4 + 32mp front camera. Phone calls reception and function is very good, has stereo "wide" audio which is not too bad. Very good feature is expandable memory via micro SD card to 1TB and a 3.5mm earphone jack - main connection is USB C and it is rated for up to 25W charging though there is no Wireless charging capability - the battery is 4500MA which gives great life (more than 1 day easily) Can run 4k video but think 30fps works better than 60fps. The processor is not as fast or smooth as the S20FE but once you have everything running it is not an issue - I think it is actually amazing that they have packed so much into a mid priced phone though there is a plastic back etc. to keep the cost down, though not an issue when in a case for protection. There is 1m water depth resistance for a quoted 30 minutes, but I wouldn't try it and its not designated for underwater photography that's for sure. All round a very, very good phone and at this price point packs in a loot of features and functionality. It has fingerprint sensor for phone lock but this can sometimes be "lumpy" and not work first time around (found the same with my S20FE as well) but not a deal breaker. Been running for 2 months now and no reports of any problems or difficulties with the phone. No problems with phone reception and clarity - works very well as a phone (primary function) The fact that the phone has expandable memory and a 3.5mm earphone jack making it more versatile might just appeal to some !

Pros: Very well built phone, good size, nice and tactile in the hand Beautiful super amoled screen, what more can i say! Has 3.5mm earphone jack - good for people with plug in ear and head phones Expandable memory up to 1 Tb - not found on Higher up models Stereo audio is good for a phone of this class Cameras are all useful and work well - low light is pretty good IPX67 water resistance good feature Battery life very good, fast charging capability very good 4K video

Cons: Finger print sensor can be a bit lumpy at times No wireless charging (something had to give for "budget")

Great midprice Samsung, easy to use & loads of features – Relatively new phone. I previously had a Galaxy S7 which I absolutely loved. I mainly surf 'net, message, call, WhatsApp, take photos & screen shots. Enjoying the A52's larger screen. relatively light weight. There is VERY occasional slight stagger in some websites (Bizarrely Sammobile was one lol). It is very rare so don't be put off! The phone is quick, simple to navigate and has LOTS of adaptive functions in the settings. Fabulous for personalising. If you can't find the setting you want on this phone, a quick websearch will help. I liked my S7's screenshot function, pressing 2 buttons easily. The different A52 I found awkward...UNTIL hey presto! - in Settings I found a 'floating button'. Added it to screen, and simply touch it for INSTANT screenshot! Woohoo! Came Pre-fitted with it's screen protector, great! (Samsung Australia). In the box or not: I never use headphones except on flights, so lack of earplugs in the box didn't bother me, but pretty sure it would impact many customers. One of the great features of the A52 is the ability to FAST charge, yet it's boxed with the bog standard 15w charger. Absence does not make the customers heart grow fonder, Samsung. Ah well, back to flight mode to get a faster charge. Ho hum. In summary the A52 is a neat phone, not too big and not too small, with lots of handy settings. Pleased with it so far.
