Too many cut corners – Touch screen magnetics obviously too cheap, neverending having to go back and retype, amongst other sensitivities, a real deal breaker. Any other corner they could have cut would not have been so bad. Buttons finicky on websites also. Not big into tech or gaming so easily satisfied. First time ever, not. Not made for 2 years like most others are… Read more

for sure. Usually get better for this price range but others out of stock. Less than 2 months in and it's obvious for the first time ever I have to buy something better. True, there IS advanced functionality in some areas, unfortunately TOO MANY important things don't work properly/easily. Standards it seems are slipping. Now that phones are compulsory, the LEAST that could be done is to provide something that works, mostly, for most.

Does what I need – It is not amazing and comparing to my previous Samsung Mobile galaxy S6 it is a bit disappointing. Screen is big which is good for reading but it make it also a bit hard to control with one hand. Both cameras are good but again I prefer galaxy S series better.  Show details

Order 7 days ago and they havent even dispatched my item – Ordered 7 days ago and they havent even dispatched my item. After a complain, today I receive an email saying it would take another 1-3 business days to dispatch. This is really poor service. never buy again. Never recommend to friends. They send product from overseas and not from Australia. I feel like I am a victim of an online scam.  Show details

What a phone! – This phone is great value for money. You still get great build quality and as a power user the specs hold up. The battery lasts me a day the power of the phone is enough for day to day used. This obviously is not a S series phone. But for what it is it is amazing. (Also holds up with the new phones in the looks department.) Totally love it.  Show details

It's a Decent phone – Got the phone as replacement for my LG G4. The phone is pretty decent with dual SIM and External SD Card feature if you are not picky about phone. The phone is a little bit lacking on its camera in low light situation (but I guess most phones have hard time for this issue). Also, it can only saves 3 finger prints. I am hoping it to have more.(at least 4).  Show details

good bargain – Not an expensive but medium range phone. Got nothing wrong so far. Use it daily but don't expect the camera quality too much. The only con is battery consuming faster than before but it's a common problem for all phones recently. Overall, it works fine for its price. Love the Samsung A series.  Show details

Reliable sturdy phone – The large screen is bonus to read articles and the phone itself is sturdy and well built, surviving many a drop on the floor. The fingerprint sensor isn't the best but for the price this is an excellent phone for everyday tasks. Comes with Samsung bloatware but often these are quite useful and some I even voluntarily installed, like the Samsung music app.  Show details

Amazing phone and very affordable – First of all, I am fan of Android. However, the best android phone is Samsung to me. Easiest usage, too much alternative on Google Play, very responsive. By the way, when you compare with expensive Samsung ranges, I really surprised this worth more than what I paid. I recommend to everyone. Please, don't confuse with price, I use this phone more than a year, working great.  Show details

Great cheaper version of S series – Great clear big screen and graphics , does just about everything a samsung galaxy s7 and s8 does BUT does not do screen mirroring (can not cast videos to tv unless you install a casting app) does not do video calling either! Ha to install an app for that too. i also found it hard to find cheap phone case (had to shop on ebay)  Show details

Almost perfect – Positives: The battery life is crazy. This battery lasts a solid 9 hours of screen on time of heavy demanding use. The screen is an AMOLED full HD screen (which is honestly all you need- quad HD isn't worth it because it wastes battery and there's no actual quad HD content that exists) Fits in hand well if you have giant hands Neutrals: … Read more

Runs only Android 6 at time of writing

Cameras are passable- not great, but alright video and camera quality in normal light. Low light requires a very steady hand thanks to no OIS.

Performance- not too slow, with 3gb of ram, but don't expect to have it as snappy as the S7.

Negatives:

No notification light. I know, I know, there's the always on display, but that's a battery sucker.

Fingerprint sensor is slow and picky.

Galaxy A series phones work a treat! – I have just stepped up from a three year old Galaxy S4 to a Galaxy A7 2017. It's not he flagship of the Samsung range but it's no slouch either. Purchased from Costco on special at $639, the unit delivers the same power as the S7 with a bigger screen. Although it still comes with Android 6 (Marshmallow), I purchased this because it will have an… Read more

upgrade path to Nougat and I am confident that it will also be upgraded to the new Android O. Make no mistake, the phone is heavy at 141 grams (but not as heavy as the Note 4 (at 170 grams). Did I need a 4k screen... no, this HD is fine... it's feels very familiar and performs very well. I don't play games on it so I didn't need all the bells and whistles of the S8+. If you need to upgrade your old Samsung, then either the A5 or A7 seems to do the job nicely. Can't go past the 2 year warranty either and the battery is a whopping 3600 mAh. My poor old reliable S4 had two batteries in its life and in the end couldn't get even a day out of it - but that is about to change.... I love lots of memory so although this unit is only 32GB internal memory, I can add 256Gb SD card for outstanding storage. It's use will be phone calls, text, facebook, emails and a few aussie apps like RACQ and the TV networks (yep and good old aunty ABC for my news). I understand the older A7's aren't quite as good (eg 2016 version), but this unit released in Feb 2017 will do me for a while. And transferring all my data and contacts to the new phone was a breeze! Well done Samsung.
