Hard reset of anroid devices-Beware – I have Samsung J1 Ace bought 2018 & and I did a hard reset on that. Now it does not sign in as I have done a password change of my mail few days ago System asked me to wait 24 hrs-after 24 hour wait same issue waited 4 days -same issue contacted Samsung support and they need $66 to FRP (Factory reset protection) Google Lock Removal. So if you have an anroid device, you are in the mercy of google to remove FRP locks.. Show details

Awesome phone – On to my third battery and the Jimmy hasn't missed a beat. OK, so I use it to make calls, send texts, and to use some social media apps and that is all I need it for. After 5 years it is powering on despite my family and their iPhones, which are replaced annually. Show details

Best camera on a smartphone period – The camera is great on this phone. Not the best for surfing the net, battery can be a pain and its small too small, However the camera is the best on any phone the images are way deeper, I've seen the pictures you can take on my friends iPhone 15 pro and i currently own a Galaxy S10 and they're terrible in comparison better phones for sure but much worse photo's... Not really sure how it does it. Show details ·  1

Great value! solid and water resistant? – Have had a J105 for some three years until battery and camera focus got tired. It survived 5 minutes at the bottom of the pool. Replaced with J106 six months ago. It survived a 4m fall on to concrete (unmarked) and 24 hours at the bottom of a 2.4m tank of water. It would be hard to justify an expensive phone if it likely be treated thus! It is… Read more

fine for calls, messages, google maps, android auto and a GPS speed app all running together. Also fine for reading the newspaper, banking, and any other apps I have tried. The camera is basic and some actions irritating, but great value at <$140.

Pretty good – Now I actually know what I'm doing lol, this was a good entry level smart phone and very well priced. Very lacking in storage space though. Excellent small size is handy and it's reasonably light. This phone is tough, reliable and great starter smart phone! Once it went really haywire but turned it off and had to leave it for many days. Now functioning fine  Show details

This is rubbish – You really don't want my review. It would be the worst phone l have ever had. Recharge from day one. You put in on charger. charge to 100% then put on bench overnight and when you come out in the morning it is between 30 and 59%. Dropped all that charge without being touched. Bought a new battery exactly the same. Get up in the morning and it's… Read more

downloaded rubbish that l have never even seen EVER. All sorts of things pop up on screen. The worst camera l have ever had on a phone too. It's not just me a friend had exactly the same phone and it had exactly the same problems. An American friend was telling me about all the problems she has with her new phone and jokingly l said "oh it must be a Samsung" and she said "OMG it is how did you know". That's my review but nobody will ever get to read it they won't let them

For basic communication it does the job – The camera does not work really well, can't use it at night, the batteries do not last long I learnt to put my phone on ultra saving mood - a feature which I love because I can control the amount of application running in the background, the memory is really really small so even taking a couple of photos will cause the phone to malfunction, so… Read more

Not Happy Jan! – Most frustrating piece of technology I have ever had to deal with. Being a dinosaur when it comes to phones doesn't help but fair dinkum, this is far from user friendly. By far the "Double tap to Unlock" is the most annoying thing to deal with. I only have prepaid and when attempting to key a 10 digit voucher number in to recharge I have to unlock… Read more

This phone is pure garbage – I got this phone from eBay at 25 bucks but even at that price ....... this is really truly a freaking garbage phone ..... the build quality and screen SCREAMS budget phone ...... yes it has words budget phone written all over its body .......the original galaxy 2009 (yup the one that came before the galaxy s) has a better screen quality Limited… Read more

storage means you can’t install too many apps on it and the cpu phone has also doesn’t allow you to do any multitasking

Simply wouldn’t allow you to run games ...... it won’t lag because it wouldn’t even allow you to run anything that will cause lag

Camera is absolutely garbage

You are much much better off using a galaxy s2 than this crap and I’ve seen price of s2 on eBay much cheaper than this pure garbage

Battery is also small and you will quickly run out of juice...... the phone charges much much longer than it consume the juice.......

I know it is what it is ..... it was meant to be a garbage and lowest end of galaxy series so makes no wonder .......I just didn’t know a phone can be this bad

I’ll tell you a funny thing ...... Samsung also uses its own tizen os on their phones ..... I’ve used the tizen-os powered Samsung z4

And let me put it this way ...... this phone will make the z4 feels like as if you are using a note 9...... that’s how bad the user experience was

Avoid this phone at all cost unless all you look into the phone was some web browsing YouTubing and instant messaging plus text/calling

Touch screen – The touch screen of this device is bad. The swipes are instantly confused with taps, With is terribly annoying when viewing the photos, scrolling on the Internet and even on the home screen! Also the processer is so slow I even have difficulties getting after I have entered my pin it sometimes takes 5 seconds until I can see the home screen. Then I check my opened apps and there is nothing there!  Show details

Piece of rubbish – The phone is way below expectation. It requires a double tap to reopen the screen which requires a special knack to get right, too slow or too fast or too many means it doesn't work. My phone has had many issues loss of connection during calls garbled voice to other phones just to name two. It was reset and repaired but still played up.  Show details

Rubbish phone – I purchased this phone in November 2016 and found it cutting out call because your face or ear can pause a call. Good for simple things – This phone is a good little stand in for emergencies. It does all the simple things with ease, is intuitive, and can handle complex procedures if necessary. However, more power-saving options, and easier hotspot and ethering options would be an improvement. The screen and cameras are both of good quality, and it seems to bounce when you drop it.  Show details

Poor screen locking causes accidental button pressing – Cheap, simple phone with all the usual android functions. Screen locking however is unreliable, especially during a call, when your face will end up pressing a whole heap of buttons, while you're chatting away. Multiple times I've visited websites, messaged people, and changed phone settings, all while chatting away to someone on the phone. Not a good phone, unless for an emergency, as it will only annoy you down the track.  Show details

Pretty good for low end phone – I've had repeated arguments with Samsung and their 'authorised' repairers in the past with son's phone and kicked myself for not really having another option but to buy a J1 mini (originally coming from old school Nokia market). Value Samsung Mobile – I bought this mobile for my younger sibling to get her started as she is starting High School and needs to be able to be contacted so the Newsagent in Hobart CBD recommended this as a phone for her first time. The battery is really poor! – I had to replace my version of this phone twice thru warranty because the battery did not last even 6 hours... the second time I went to take it back they wouldn't even let me return it. Alright but has problems – Compared to my last phone, I'm glad I upgraded though the battery life on this one is too short. The display looks nice and the swipe typing generally works well and is easier on the fingers. The greater availability of applications with Samsung is a plus. It seriously needs more memory. The camera is very poor and does not have a flash. The… Read more

buzzer/vibrator automatically turns itself on whenever Telstra sends a message, or if you leave an unsent SMS to switch to another application. It has a way of randomly crashing at times though this mostly seems to be a problem in the heat (which is most of Australia).

OK For Simple Tasks – This is a Samsung but don't for a moment think of it as in the same class as an s7 or s8. Its well made but built to a price. Its actually nice to hold and its small size fits easily in a pocket but the hardware can only handle a few apps at once. Great little phone – My last phone was a HTC that fitted neatly in to my shirt pocket. I liked using this phone but sadly it was a 2G phone so I replaced it with a second-hand J1 mini. it’s handy for people ringing me. I use my PC at home to go on the internet because the screen is so much larger.

The phone is fairly basic but it does what some people would want in a phone. Even though this phone is second-hand and I have already owned it for approx one year I am pleased to report that I have (so far) never had a problem with it.

Loved it when I had it. For a budget phone it's hard to beat – I loved this phone and it's easy to see why. It does everything you need it to, has expandable memory and is from a (mostly) reliable brand. The only problem I had with it (that eventually led me to get rid of it) was the camera. There was just no chance that you'd take a decent photo with it. There's no flash, the pictures are grainy. I expected… Read more

better as technology has come a long way. But if you like to take photos, you're better off giving this a miss.

But if what you're after is a basic phone that's easy to use and has practical features at a great budget price, this phone is definitely a winner.

A very poor phone ....Samsung should not have released it. Dont buy it – I bought this phone thinking it was the same as the J1 which I have but needed another for my young grandson . Slow but small – Phone is small and cheap which is great. Is slow but doesn't have a flash or torch. additional memory card often automatically unmounts which can be frustrating. Ideal compact phone to use as a backup – The Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini phone is a good size and has a very good battery life. number of apps you can install, however this phone is designed to be used more as a phone (and less as a smart phone). You can install a microSD card but that would be used for storing photos (and you don't want to use this phone to take pictures - the quality is very poor and it has no flash). Overall, you should install your basic apps like Gmail, social networking, and maybe a small game and you're done. My purpose in buying this phone was to have it as a backup while my main phone was in for repair. Now I use the J1 Mini it to listen to music while I go for walks.

Cheap phone but works – Great cheap phone but difficult to use maps and other maps as the phone doesn’t have a enough go. Perfect for a spare but not ideal as a full time phone. Would be ideas for older people as it’s simple. For the price I was happy and the screen quality is great  Show details

Great Phone, Especially For The Price! – The phone is a great device, it has a reasonably great display, it's snappy when its not forced to multi-task a large amount of tasks, and the camera is ok.
