Don't leave home – Everything about this phone is excellent except for one thing - the battery life is appalling. When web browsing the battery indicator drops at the rate of about 1% per minute of use. When it gets to 30% battery level the phone just shuts down completely. This is a complete joke. What is the point of having a mobile device that runs for about… Read more

an hour and then needs re-charging. I have a laptop for use at home when mains electricity is available. I bought the Samsung as a mobile tablet computer and am very disappointed. Would not recommend at all. A waste of money.

Works great & super handy! – When I purchased the phone, I was worried that it would be too big and that I would always drop it & smash the screen but, 2 years later I am yet to do this! *touch wood* I accidentally got a bit of water damage in it but the phone still works fine, just a small line of pixels down the screen has gone green although I am so used to it I hardly notice it!  Show details

Still going strong, no plans to replace – I got the Note Edge back in 2014 as my insurance replacement for my Galaxy Note 2 (fell into a bucket of water). I'm not really tech savvy and I prefer the practicality of things. I don't go out and change phones just because there's a new model out. Then back in 2017 I dropped it and there were 3 small cracks on the screen. So off to eBay and I… Read more

bought the same phone. It's already 2018 and I have no plans to change this unit. Simply put, the edge is fantastic. It allows me to put in short cuts, panels for the camera, volume, settings, etc. You can launch apps without even pressing the turn on button. Love the panel when there're tunes running as you can skip tracks anytime. The panels are very handy for quick messages, the night clock is fantastic. I've put in a 256gB micro sd and I can run movies, play nostalgic Playstation 1 and 2 games, etc. I still have the older Note Edge and my daughter loves it. Even her friends find it quite interesting given the edge feature. No plans to change this phone, and if it breaks I might just get the same one. Battery, like most phones, can be a struggle if you're using multiple apps. But that's easily offset by having a spare set of batteries...cheap off eBay.

Not Bad – I have had few Samsung Galaxy Notes this is the one I had the most problems with and mainly this was due to the poor quality of battery from Samsung (not generic). I have turned off fast charging now, and just charge normally and slowly. So far so good .  Show details

Nice big phone that does everything – Got this phone second hand. The good points about this phone, screen is wide and sharp for social media and reading online content. Great camera, heaps of standard photo editing tools. Also great selfie timer as well. The microphone is sharp and clear. Speaker is also great for looking at online videos. Crystal clear and loud. I like the microsd… Read more

slot which you can put up to 128 GB Microsd. Responsive OS, fast menu. Great stylus feature for those moments you need to write in evernote, do translation or type a short message.

The not so great points, phone doesn't hold well in one hand for most people unless you have naturally large hands. Battery life is starting to show for such a big phone but can get through a day with intensive usage. Lots of default Samsung apps that are not really useful that clogs up space on the phone. There is no blue light filter built in, one would need to go to the Google Play store to get one. The phone is pricey but you do get a big screen real estate and a stylus for the money. The edge on the phone looks nice but its a gimmick for the most part.

Painful feature of the OS, sometimes the touch is unresponsive, had to reboot the phone. The Facebook messenger has a notification pop up that you can remove but it always come backs on the main screen. Not sure if there is a way to turn that off permanently. The other issue is when you want to use google translate or bing translator, you have to fiddle with allowing access to voice, camera..etc. Its not easy to approve the access and it takes several hours of messing about to finally give it the appropriate access. Nice in theory to have granular control but its not implemented with the smoothest experience in mind.

great piece of kit – the screen is so clear, the camera is outstanding, I love how thin it is and I really think the edge has 'the edge' on competitors. I love that you dont have to leave the screen to search apps along the edge. On an optus plan with shared data for $5 per unit is great. instead of going back and forth paying $5 here and there as we add new devices,… Read more ·  1

i got the optus modum/sim pack, it can hotspot for up to 10 devices. Same prices as buying an outright phone and using amaysim unlimited for 24 months. I am impressed. I only bought the phone yesterday so I have a lot to learn about how to use it but after having my galaxy note 3 stolen in Bali at Christmas time, i didnt think i could get a better phone. I was wrong!
