With out a doubt the worst phone I have ever owned – Honestly the worst phone i have ever owned. Slow, locks up constantly, Google apps keeps giving error messages and you have to re-load. Address book is slow. typing is sooo slow and frustrating with constant errors! its only good for a small phone that you can send and receive calls from, but you can get better non smart phones than this for… Read more
$20 new if that's what you want to do. Forget using it for internet, banking apps or even texting. The phone is a joke and it should have never been sent to market. As a result i will never buy another Samsung product.
Avoid at all costs – Gps receiver does not work. mobile data device works very slowly. touch screen is bad news. avoid at all costs. One advantage is it is small and fits into our pocket easily and rather lightweight. The trouble is its physical lightweight matches with its lightweight in functionality and reliability. It is a really bad phone - don't buy one either new or used. Show details
Kill It With Fire – Only buy this if you have the patience of a saint. I want to throw mine at a wall half the time it's so god damn slow and unresponsive. Show details
Difficult to use, annoying that it makes me double tap before I can even make a phone call, and now – Everything that I said above in Title of your review! I have had this phone for about two months and it is really hard for me to use. I had to buy a tiny pen to access the keyboard and even then it often does the wrong number! It won' let me just use it as a phone, I have to double click each time to access the call that I am making, why does it… Read more
not have an easy make the call facility, and an equally east end the call facility. And now to cap it all off I keep getting the " Unfortunately Google Search has stopped". I do not use the net on this phone, I don't want to use the net on this phone all I want to do is be able to use it as a phone and to Se d SMS messages. Is that too much too ask? Hateful!
Great basic smart phone, but don't expect too much – There are two reviews before mine. One said "Terrible", the other "Excellent". Both are correct. If you just need a phone to do basic functions, for the price, it will keep you happy. However if you want to run extra tricky apps, you will be in trouble and disappointed. I just wanted a smart phone so I could amalgamate my PC mobile broadband… Read more
plan and mobile phone onto one SIM and use my mobile phone in Tethering mode as my PC modem.
I paid $98 at JB HiFi, but Officeworks had them briefly for $69. Both unlocked.
If you try to run anything but basic apps, it won't cope.
It can also be slightly slow to change screens. (Like 1 or 2 seconds).
It will accommodate a 32Gb extra storage card, so you can keep plenty of photos and music.
The Pocket Neo will perform all the basic smartphone functions adequately, but don't push it.
For sub-$100 it does very well as a common-sense communications device.
Woeful - how was this even approved for manufacturing? – Was looking to replace my broken phone. Picked this up, looked decent, good brand, cheap. My god was I wrong. Using more than one app at a time, will absolutely cause the phone to crash. Whilst texting, if you text more than incredibly slow, the messaging service will crash. Shazaam will crash, snapchat will crash. In fact, any app that is more… Read more
than about 1-2 mbs in size will destroy your phones speed and processor. At all costs, stay away. Buy a brick phone if you must, just do not purchase and support a product like this.
Remarkable product for the price! – I was looking for a cheap and sturdy unlocked smartphone, given my tendency to give my phones a hard time, and the Galaxy Pocket Neo seemed to fit the bill. And it met my need for it to fit comfortably in my pocket. For around $120, it seemed a low risk. I opted to pay another $30 for the hands free car kit, with Bluetooth and an 8 Gig card. … Read more
After about a week of use, I can say that it has exceeded my expectations. It looks good, fits comfortably in my pocket, and the pre-installed apps on the Android operating system are very well thought out and useful. Yes, the screen is small, but I expected that, so it's no use for highly graphic games, and that's not what I got it for. The only drawback for me is that, with my large clumsy fingers, the keypad is a bit tricky for texting, but that was inevitable with a small phone. The good news is that they have cleverly implemented a very simple and effective way to dictate texts, which I find very useful.
It took a little exploration to set up the apps effectively, but once done, they are easy to use, and well implemented. I was impressed to find a fully functional Satnav system, along with Google maps, with street view, already installed. The calender and alarm are particularly good and easy to use. And, with access to the Google Play store, the possibilities are limitless!
Overall, I can highly recommend it for anyone happy to have a compact smart phoe at an exceptionally good price. Look and feel, sturdy, great apps and functionality. Remarkably good price. Small size means small keyboard. Need more choice and volume in alert tone selection.
