Problems encountered over the last 10 months or so – After owning the S9+, the S23+ was a step in the wrong direction. Main points are: 1. The fingerprint sensor on the S9+ was undoubtedly superior to the S23+ offering. 2. The ridiculously sensitive water/debris detection of the USB-C charge port on the S23+ regularly makes it necessary to charge using wireless charging. I now refer to my phone as… Read more

the least accurate, most expensive hygrometer I have ever purchased. 3. The Samsung Health app cannot keep the S23+ screen from going into power saving mode unless the "lock" feature is enabled which is very difficult to do with gloves on. This is potentially very dangerous and a constant souce of annoyance, and will likely lead to multiple users being fined by police for phone operation whilst riding.

[added later] I have now used a microscope to check the USB-C charge connector. The copper tracks on the USB connection have oxidised. They had furry, green oxidation forming (likely) due to a lack of inert gold-plating... Something anyone would expect on an AU$1600+ phone. It is interesting to note that the older S9+ which has been subjected to much worse treatment and environments has no such growth on its charge connector. The S9+ was many times better than the S23+ has turned out to be.

Update 11Aug24: The phone arrived back from the Samsung repair agent and even though the oxide covered charge connectors were physically visible without any disassembly, the technicians say they couldn't get the fault to appear. I suggested they place the phone in a higher-humidity environment than their refrigerative air-conditioned premises but they said that would void my warranty. So I guess use of the phone outdoors during the wet season voids the warranty too? I thought Samsungs highly trained technicians were authorised to verify faults on items under warranty? My earbuds pro have now gone missing and I can't use the Samsung website locater to find them because it says they are offline (probably because it was set up on the S23+ and now is running on the Google Pixel Pro because the S23+ has been away being 'fixed'). I can't find my Watch5 pro even though it is on and connected to the Pixel Pro phone doing the search. Useless! When I make a call from Messenger the watch starts ringing when the person I'm calling answers the phone and if I try to disconnect the watch it terminates the call. I now have to turn off Bluetooth on the Samsung Watch5 pro before I make calls using messenger. I haven't tested normal calls as I usually make video calls. Apart from its use as a heart rate monitor there is very little reason to wear the Samsung watch and its continual need to be charged coupled with its inability to use Samsung Pay while monitoring heart rate makes it an annoying device. All in all the Samsung S23+ phone coupled with the Watch5 pro is designed to infuriate and confound!

Great Phone – Great Phone, Highly recommend it. Amazing display, great battery life. Quick and easy to operate. A small issue is if you unlock the screen with a four digit pin, then you have to press the "OK" button. If you have a six digit pin, you have the choice to press OK or not. The phone is made in Vietnam. Show details ·  1

The best phone I've owned so far – I've had my Galaxy S23+ for about 10 months now and it is by far the best phone I have ever had. The battery by the end of the day sits around 74 to 83% which is mind blowing for me. I love the size when all my other family members have the Ultra ... the Plus is just so much better for my small hands. It is fast & responsive on the inside and… Read more ·  1

Reliable and Effective – This handset delivers the same consistent performance which is to be expected from Samsung products. The battery life is immediately noticeable on the plus version with battery lasting over 48 hours on a heavy inbound calls and phone browsing. Show details ·  1

Love Samsung phones – This is my 3rd purchase of Samsung phones. My last one was S21 and I have recently upgraded to the S23. The S21 was 4years old abd still working perfectly but my son needed a phone so I decided to upgrade and give him my old phone. I have had this new S23 for 4 weeks. The change over was simple and the phone is very similar except it is larger has more capacity and a clearer screen. The photos are excellent. Very happy so far. Show details ·  1

Extremely fast & reliable – I purchased my S23+ direct from Samsung. Setting up was an absolute breeze. All that was needed to use passwords to log in once & everything was done. The speed is phenomenal & I get super fast reception where others are just watching their phone spin round waiting for it to load. Apps run so smoothly & no issues whatsoever. Keep the great products coming Samsung! Show details ·  1

Simple improvements would make this a much more user friendly product – There is no justifiable reason for making access to the SIM card tray so difficult. The pin provided for accessing the Sim tray in previous models was fragile enough but the pin with the new model is really weak. It bends with any pressure and you feel it would break in your hands. The Sim tray loosens relatively easily when the phone is new but… Read more ·  2

can become much more difficult to open with age. It requires force, usually masculine force, to dislodge it. It should be designed so that it can be opened easily by everyone including older people, people with arthritis, weak hands etc. It would hardly be a great feat of engineering to improve this and it really should be fixed. Another issue with Samsung is the requirement to use a previous Samsung account to link a watch to a phone or activate a purchase. There is absolutely no reason for Samsung to have people stored under "Accounts" that, after a few year have obsolete phone numbers and email addresses, but will not let customers activate their new products. It takes several calls to get this sorted out. Just as you can use a TV or vacuum cleaner without logging into 'accounts' you should be able to get phone and watch products up and running without the nonsense of logging into previous accounts. It just seems that Big Brother Samsung is tracking you. Updates to the phone come via current details. Also the charging cable that comes with the new phone is totally inadequate. It is OK only to attach to a computer port or similar but does not plug into power plugs. It is necessary to purchase a separate charging cable.

Love it – Love this phone. Have been a bit of a Samsung fanboy for some time and this lives up the hype. Show reply
