WOW Samsung S8 screen – 1- I was very satisfied with my phone ever since my husband purchased my Samsung S8 phone in 2017 . 2- the brightness was really good the only thing l did not like is when the battery was going low it will dim my eyes not being the best this could be so frustrating. 3-Yes l do lm a nurse and have my nursing app on there so so l use it for lots of… Read more

Samsung phone is overpriced and poor repair service by Domestic and General Insurance – 20 Dec 2020. The Samsung Galaxy S8 plus phone stopped charging due to "Moisture in the USB Port" despite never being dropped in water. On Mon 30 Nov 2020, I took the phone to the Good Guys at Warners Bay NSW under their Concierge membership service which is Domestic and General insurance. Good Guys took two days to send it off for repair… Read more

service. I was told it would take five to seven business days to repair and sent to a local repair shop named Roadhound at Cardiff. The phone was supposed to have been sent to Revive Technologies in Sydney. I was sent an email by Revive Technologies to notify me that they are going to do the repairs. Two weeks later I phoned Revive to ask them if they have received my phone and how long it will take to repair. Revive said that they have not received my phone as Samsung have it. However, when Revive receive it, they will take five to seven business days to repair and send it back to the Good Guys of Warners Bay NSW. It is now going into the fourth week with only four days before Christmas which will mean that my phone will be delayed by five to six weeks in total. Do not take out the Concierge Service by Domestic and General Insurance with the Good Guys. Do not purchase an expensive phone like a Samsung Gallaxy as it takes too long to repair by Samsung and Domestic and General Insurance total four to six weeks. Extremely disappointed with all parties involved.

Samsung won't even service their own products! No Samsung product ever again – I have been a loyal Samsung customer for years. So I was a bit excited when I ordered the S8+online. The phone itself is beautiful to behold with lovely curves. The display looks fantastic and is decently bright. The back of the phone is another matter. I had it in a silicone case and it dropped less than a metre onto carpet. Believe it or not the… Read more

back cracked. (which fool decided to make the back out of glass anyway?) I was a bit upset so went of to the Sydney CBD Samsung store in George street. They told me because I bought it online instead of direct from them that they wouldn't repair it. It's not like I was requesting a warranty repair, I was happy to pay, but NO!!! I have had similar problems with them in the past. Like getting a second battery for my Note 3, less than 12 months after purchasing it directly from the store, they couldn't even bother to stock their own batteries! The phone itself is OK, except for your standard useless Samsung bloatware that no one wants or uses. But the phones reception it terrible. I live in a poor reception area. My GF uses a cheapy $250 Nokia 3 phone, she consistently gets 25dbm better signal than me. And this is not due to the carrier. We have both used Vodaphone and Optus and changed between the 2 at the same time. Totally unacceptable, especially as it's a 'Phone" and not some other device. And it still comes with that cursed 'Easy Mode' that turns it into a phone for 5 year old's with crayons. Once you are in this mode you will find it's a mystery on how to escape except for finding a YouTube video online to return you to normal. And I found myself turning all notifications off as when it's charging and it gets a notification, the display won't turn off. Come back 3 hours later and your phone still won't be charged but your display will be bright and on. What a complete joke! So after having bought 3 Samsung phones over the years, I have had enough. Never again will they get any of my hard earned pennies. The product itself is poor but the Australian Samsung Customer Service absolutely shocking

Love it – I have had this phone for over a year now and not once has it let me down, it is a fantastic phone and the only thing I dislike on it is that It get used and have to charge the battery. The camera is brilliant - love the stabilization mechanism they have, the pictures are vivid in colour and dynamic and night time pictures are great also. … Read more

Speed of the phone is great, no freezing no problems, no lagging what so ever and when I bought it - literally not long after it came out I literally paid less than the S8 and mine is a S8+

I love the fact that Samsung managed to get rid of the bottom buttons, they used to incorporate on their phones, as they used to annoy me and with this phone I don't have that problem. I use it from turning on my air con to gaming to emails and off course music. It is very simple to use

The sound is fantastic - crystal clear - signal strength great

I took off 1 star for this reason, it is a type C USB - which is good - Type C USB is something like USB 3.1 - now unless you have the latest PC with these ports its not really useful, but they have advantage that the port is not one way insert you can insert it on both sides and the speed between a pc with a USB C port is meant to be faster - now after that long discussion on chord I will state that USB C is expensive I think its about 25 dollars for another chord, so this is a draw back to some degree having only 1 chord

Now would I recommend you to go out and buy one?

this is a hard question and have to answer it in regards to whats happening within the future - 5G is coming out, over 10 times faster than 4G, so in saying this and the fact S9 is out I would personally wait till 5G is out - in regards to S9 the only difference is the camera really and new emotes type of thing. But if you can actually pick this up for a good price and I mean really good price it would be worth buying and using it for a long time as even though 5G comes out you can hold off.

I am in love – What do I love about my phone? 1) the colour. a gorgeous, beautiful, lovely metallic purple. love it. Also the curved screen is super pretty. Plus I love a large screen. Dims enough to read without the lamp and not ruin your eyesight, bright enough to use on a very sunny day. 2) the camera! I surprise myself with the photos sometimes! Colours… Read more

are lovely

3) The OS. I am not an Apple person. Not even an android person. I am a Samsung OS person. I love it. It's so easy, consistent, and not too irritating in those areas where android does it better. I like that I can turn bixby off, because honestly google is better; and you know what? The samsung OS is totally cool with that. Plus there's all those little indefinable things that make android better than iOS... ability to customise, power saving, (Headphone Jack!!!). And samsungs edge menu is so handy. + the ability to close all your apps with one button!

4)the speed? I don't know how this goes as a category, but I can say my phone has never, ever frozen or run noticeably slower than usual or anything like that.

5) storage. between onedrive, samsung cloud, 64GB on my phone and 32GB on my sd card, safe to say this has not been a problem. I have my phone and photos backed up on samsung cloud and thats it; all my photos are saved on my sd card and my phone storage is not even half full despite all the apps and random documents and software

Great phone, fast – My Samsung Galaxy S8+ has ran for years without a glitch. Still works great today. It may be a great second hand type phone if you can pick one up cheaply. Quality device all around. Also, removing or better disabling bloatware from Samsung phones is a must imho to save battery life. Show details

charger port is wet, i took it to Sumsung and they said that i have damaged it, so i took it to a repair shop to get another opinion, and guess what? The technician said to me in the exact words " i make my living from Samsung charger port mate" and he said get your self wireless charger cause you can never fix this problem and Samsung will always say that you damaged it like they tell the other thousands customers. I must say, the other samsung Galaxy i used where good, but not s8+ don't buy it.

Still great in 2019 – I purchased this pre-owned in 2018 for $550. Considering it was released April 2017 at $1,349 I found that great value. Love the infinity edge display with high resolution and punchy colours. Single lens camera maybe lacking in this day and age but still takes top notch photos in day or night. Camera is faulty and Samsung refuses to fix it – Many Samsung Galaxy s8/s8+ are sold with faulty cameras (google 'samsung s8 camera blurry'). I should get compensation/refund since Samsung sold me a blatantly faulty product but they refused it because of a small crack on my screen (unrelated to camera). Samsung is aware of the camera hardware issue. They need me to pay to fix my screen, before they can fix the phone's faulty camera (even though I don't need/am not requesting a fixed screen). Show details

I love this phone – The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is stunning from every angle. It’s easily the slickest Android phone I’ve ever held, and makes the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus feel old-fashioned in comparison. It’s futuristic – but it doesn’t sacrifice usability for style The 6.2-inch screen size sounds huge, especially since the majority of larger handsets stick to… Read more

screen sizes between 5.5 and 5.7 inches. The last flagship phone I can remember to sport a 6-inch display was the Motorola-built Nexus 6 – and that was a nightmare to use. But it’s a different story here. This is a big-screened phone that feels great, and credit has to be given to Samsung for crafting a phone that feels this good.

Great phone – The big screen is great, and so is the full edge feature. The phone is fast and the quality of the screen is fantastic. (Mostly) Great Phone, Terrible Customer Service – This is a great phone. Software has constantly been updated and it remains responsive 9 months after purchase. Great phone – Pros: Great high end specifications. Extremely efficient use of battery power compared to my previous Note 5. Good value for money. Great features. Works great with Samsung peripherals such as the latest Gear 360 and Gear VR. Cons: Camera could be better. Curved screen means it's hard to get a good screen protector to fit.
