Not so Happy – The Samsung Tab A 7.0 keeps turning off, it appears it may have a sensitive area on the edge of the screen. Its quite annoying. Has anyone else had similar experiences. The rest of the system appears to be alright as i use it for my 6 year old grandson, anyone else experience similar issues?  Show details

Good but not great – I'm glad I bought this Tablet because it has made my life easier in so many ways. I can read books, browse the internet and record video. I'm not pleased with the limited amount of gig space or the tap screen, though. Cleaning is no longer enough to ensure usability. I get very frustrated when I have to repeatedly tap the screen and nothing… Read more

happens and for this reason now use the device mostly for reading ebooks and just do my surfing on my computer. I'm hoping to upgrade to a better tablet soon or just buy a smart phone.

Good value budget unit with budget credentials – I bought this tab as I was watching videos on my phone a lot so thought a bigger screen would be good. The resolution is quite low for its size which is immediately noticeable if you have been using a good quality phone with 1080p or higher res. The image is a bit grainy but overall is passable for the price. The onboard storage is small at 8gb… Read more

with only around 4 being available (less once you install apps) but this is easily fixed by adding a micro SD card - so best to add that cost to your budget when buying one, unless you only use it for watching vids via YouTube as I do.

The touch screen can sometimes feel a bit unresponsive and it can lag a bit when selecting items but it is still acceptable considering the price. I don't like how the buttons to lock and change volume are on opposite sides from my Samsung phone, as I am constantly pressing the wrong ones when switching between devices.

JB are selling them for $197 at present and for the price they are definitely worth it, though they are definitely a budget unit.

Samsung Galaxy tablet – I originally bought this product as an eBook reader. Over the last year, there has not been a single day since I haven't used it. In fact, I rarely switch on my computer! :) I use it to check my emails, face book and eBay. It is my GPS, Navigon is so user friendly. All my books are downloaded and easily accessed. I play my music, watch DVD's and… Read more

even play solitaire. I am simply addicted to this gadget - not wait - it's my lifeline. I have my contacts, calendars, to do lists and reminders all set. As a Wi-Fi device it is also excellent, logging onto hotspot internet in our travels I recently installed a Telstra prepaid sim card into this device, and the reception in our way outback areas of Australia is as good as our blue tick phone with the aerial plugged in. The size is perfect to carry in my handbag, yet large enough that I don't need glasses to read the screen. Forget those small smart phones, the screen is simply too small. Samsung, you definitely have a product winner her :) Perfect size, excellent service. Good speed

Love my verastile little book – I asked for an ebook reader for xmas 2010 and this is what I got. I rarely read books on it but do everything else like email, internet. I have it as a quick recipe book in the kitchen. For someone who hates the time a pc takes to boot up I love Android. Use it as a video phone as screen gives a great size picture. Battery life could be better. Hubby has new 7.7 Tab snd is happy. Size.speed. multi uses Battery life

Great Value, Fits in your back Pocket (Male) – Love this new device. Bought it from online Telstra shop when they were doing the $299 deal, absolutely amazing value. Fits in my back pocket which is really amazing, no one believes i can fit it in my pocket unless i demonstrate to them in person. 3G capability comes as standard which is a plus plus. Perfect size for travel, reasonable… Read more

battery life and seems to be very reliable. The camera could be improved however i would not reasonably expect anymore for this type of price.

It surprises me that it can play pretty much any video file format i throw at it (MKV, RMVB, AVI etc). Planning to take this on my next overseas trip instead of bringing my laptop. Awesome value, reliable, Beyond adequate for daily web tasks (email, Facebook, light browsing), Can handle many formats of Video files if you install the appropriate apps Screen is too small for prolonged typing tasks, Camera quality could possibly be improved

Good – Despite my complaints, I am very happy with my Galaxy tab and certainly made the right decision over the iPad. I have an iPhone, so I still have access to the Apple world, but after using an iPad intensively for a week, it just left me a little underwhelmed. Android is really not for the impatient or the technically illiterate just yet. I can… Read more

deal with the problems as the open source world and the presence of basic camera / SD card / Flash functionality (see Pros above) make it worthwhile.

I am living in hope that the Galaxy tab will come-of-age once the new Android version is out as the hardware could deliver me the all-in-one mobile experience that the iPad fails at. Size is great. (7" is fine for most purposes, 10" is too big to hold comfortably).

Has 2 x Cameras!

Has Micro SD expandable storage!

Supports flash!

Can connect to PC as USB mass storage.

Really easy to use Wireless Access Point feature so you can tether other devices off the Tab in seconds.

Regular Sim-Card slot.

Swype is awesome.

Free from the restrictive and prohibitve clutches of Mr Jobs. Still a bit buggy and certainly not refind and polished like the iPad is.

Lack of quality apps avaialable. (at least 90% of the Android app store is pure garbage).

Battery life a little underwhelming and if it were relplacable it would give me more confidence for the device's performance in 3 years.

Occasional problems with some sites and some apps crash out for no reason but then work fine when restarted.

GPS functionality is great once it has found a signal, but this can take ages compared to my iPhone which has the ability to locate me almost instantly.

Totally overpriced. RRP is $999, but should be closer to $700.

Telstra version is $840 outright which is a good deal and they now have 10gb data for $150.

Not perfect but I am happy with! – I love androis and I was looking for a device with almost all in one and smaller than the competitor's one. I follow my friend advice and I could use his for few days before buying mine. It is portable and light to carry with small (may be too small) 7" screen. Really nice camera to take videos and photos (not sure if 3 or 5 Megapixel). With… Read more

sim card can make phone call (need headset,) surf the net. It is not perfect but I love it.

The no USB port and price are the most negative aspects Size, good brand, long battery life no USB port, no skype videocall (in the first version)

This techno Geek loves this product – Used PDA phones for years. The bigger screen with built in 3g suits my purposes perfectly. I use an blutooth ear piece, thus n leave it on the desk or in my bag. Build in navigation software is brilliant. Because it s 7 inch it is small enough to fit in all my handbags yet big enough to work, and type on with ease. I also find the ereader a good… Read more

size just like a paperback and have even watched movies on it lying in bed. Highly recommended, this device has it all in one. No nd to have separate phone and tablet. Reliable, inexpensive, very easy to use. Lightweight I have not had any issues at all.

OK – I love my Tab, and I paid it in full because I intend to use it fully for emails, scheduling, work and a phone. But if you are just looking for a 7 inch internet tablet to surf internet with wi-fi only and not 3g, there are cheaper options elsewhere (archos 70it). Besides nowadays with pocket wi-fi the whole 3g thing is quite optional. To… Read more

different needs I recommend different approach to this product:

Those looking for an almost all in one device, loves android, do not mind slinging around a small pouch, using bluetooth earpiece and have $1000 to spare for gadgets. Go for it, this is a good product to get (not perfect).

Those looking for a small browsing device, get something cheaper, at this price point you are just wasting your money for features you don't use.

Those looking to impress everyone with their latest gadget collection. Go for it and don't forget to pick up ipad4, iphone7, htc superlustydesire xhd, motorola robotransfovoltronroid x, and a billion other gadgets on the way and have a mobile showcase for your gadget. The right size for one handed holding

Great display despite not super amoled

Commitment from samsung to bring next android updates

All the feature of a mobile internet device and phone Price

Horrible KIES software (used to manually check for firmware upgrade)

OK – I am anti apple person due to lack of openness. But I think ipad has better than this. I think I made a mistake. Android is not yet ready for tablets for it is not optimised. It is the best os for up to 3.7 inch and I love my desire. HTC does much better work with android. Let down from samsung for the price. Size, Brand, build quality, happy… Read more
