Great budget tablet for kids – Review is on the lenovo tab7.7" 16GB I personally was in the market for a little tablet for my 2yr old (soon will purchase one for a 7yr old due to her ipad mini broke) but overall if your shopping for a budget device to keep the kids entertained, i feel like I myself made the right choice. The resolution isn't that great but i don't know… Read more

A champion tablet killed by it's maker's own hand – This was a total winner of a tablet for about 3 months. Sadly the manufacturer Samscum provided virtually no support for it and the GT-P6810 faded into the history books, never to see anything higher than Android 4.04. If a 4.22 ROM had been developed, this tablet would still be somewhat useful today. Unfortunately it is, and has been for most of it's life completely useless.  Show details

Battery or tablet – Samsung crap below 40% battery and worse the lower it gets. In the middle of something and it turns off and restarts over and over again. Never buy another.

from fruit to vibes they all have their place, we will all claim to have the best.

What my thoughts for them all is cool bring it on the old tech freak wants them all to try. The software i.e. gingerbread to ice-cream the only complaint is that I like to eat gingerbread an ice-cream, makes me hungry can have conflicts an freezes, but problems can be solved rather quickly

Best of Both Worlds - Useability and Portability – First of all, as the Galaxy Tab 7.7 uses Android it's much more open to customisation and freedom of choice than anything Apple makes, and Samsung have done a good job of keeping it updated with an upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) available. I chose the 7.7 over the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus because it has a faster… Read more ·  2

processor, a nicer screen, and a flash on the camera.

The screen is big enough to make watching movies, playing games, and especially reading eBooks or websites a pleasure whilst being small enough to carry around. And the resolution is great.. maybe not as high as other devices, but you wouldn't notice. It's also very thin and light - I bought a book-style protective case for mine, and it still just fits in my pocket although, admittedly, I wear baggy jeans! It would certainly fit nicely in a small bag or handbag, and although you look quite ridiculous putting it to your head to answer the phone, it comes with headphones to solve that problem.

It does come pre-loaded with software from Samsung, most of which is useful, and being Android, more advanced users can get root access to the tablet and remove the software they don't like.. although this is not recommended as it might void your warranty. Less advanced users can always install alternative software if they wish, and move the pre-loaded apps to the back of the list.

It has 16gb of internal memory and easily accessible 3G simcard and microSD card slots. I've added a 32gb card to mine and loaded it with films, TV shows, music, and games, and I still haven't filled it up! It does have a proprietary connector for charging and USB, but so do most other devices anyway and after-market cables are easily available.

Battery life is excellent considering the size of the screen. With wifi on constantly, I only have to recharge after about 1.5 days, but even with a lot of 3G phone calls you can be sure it will last the whole day without giving up. I get a good 6 hours of movie watching out of it without making calls which I really appreciated on a recent 8.5 hour flight back to Australia. The battery is not removable, but that's not unusual for tablets.

The camera is not crash hot at only 3.15mp, but I've got an small hand-held camera for taking photos as you can never get great shots from phones or tablets anyway. It's alright when you have nothing else, but it's definitely not a selling point, and if you want a decent camera on your tablet, I'd get something else. Also, with the book-style protective case on using the camera becomes a clumsy affair.. but that would be the same with any tablet in this type of case.

Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and with newer generation tablets being released all the time the price for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will get lower and make it an even more attractive option. I would definitely recommend it to my friends... in fact, I have! Excellent battery life, performance, and screen size and resolution. Easily customisable. A little more expensive than some other tablets, only 3.15mp camera
