Hmmm.. not the best option for those who want more than SMS and Voice – The Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus is a nice little phone. It's compact design is a good feature and battery life is satisfactory. However, internal memory is severely lacking (16G - most of which is taken up by the OS!). There is a slot for a micro SD card but (stupidly?) Samsung does not allow you to use the additional memory as "working memory". So yes, you can store photos etc on the SD card but NOT applications.

I found that even adding a few basic Apps caused me to fall foul of the phone warning me that I was "low on memory" and, several Apps would not load because of lack of memory.

As to performance? Hmmm.. the less said the better. It's good IF you just want to use it as a phone. But if you want to utilise GPS - Navigation you must EXPECT the applications to crash.

In summary; this phone is a PHONE and it's not a "smart phone".

Hardly any internal storage, bad processor – I could only install 10 apps because the internal storage is barely 2GB and half of it is taken up by the system and most apps will not allow me to move to my 29GB SD card. It says my device is full even though I still have 22GB. Very slow, I often miss taking a photo opportunity because the camera is taking half a minute to respond. Lighting is no good, I have to use my DSLR for selfies sometimes.

Apps crash frequently. You'd think I got a virus!

On the plus side- It hasn't cracked despite all the times i've dropped it.

Not bad for a budget phone, I'm thankful I even have a smart phone!

weirdly strong – I'm extremely clumsy and drop my phone at least once a day, often on concrete. The phone has minimal scratches or damage somehow despite the fact I've been dropping it regularly for over a year. I dropped it in a cup of coffee this morning and I am somehow typing this review on my phone. I just dried it out and it has 0 damage. The phone itself isn't that good because it can't hold much storage and is a bit slow but I can sleep well at night knowing if I ever get shot this phone will probably stop the bullet.

good phone for a low price – This is a review of the Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus for Telstra prepaid mobile, model GT-S7583T. I purchased this mobile phone from Coles Supermarkets in Victoria in June 2015 for $79. There isn’t much detailed information about the specifics of this phone available so I will provide as much information as I can because Coles and Telstra who are the sellers are not doing a very good job of publicizing the specifications of this phone.

This phone has Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean installed. The total device capacity is 4GB internal memory and an expandable memory up to 64GB with your own microSD card which is sold separately. It also comes with a 1.2Ghz dual core processor. With speed of telstra 3G mobile network and has a built in wif-fi and bluetooth which pair up well with my other devices such as my my home internet wi-fi and sound system. This phone has a 5 mega-pixel camera, front & rear with autofocus and LED flash light and a 4 inch TFT LCD display which are quite sharp and sufficient for my needs. The camera has several mode settings including Sports, Panorama, Night, continuous shot and Best Photo, which are all good.

One neat feature of this phone is the installed app Assistive Light which become an inbuilt torch or Flash light so you can see in the dark. And theres also an FM radio app installed.

On the packaging information of the product description it boasts of up to 480 minutes of talk time and a stand by time of up to 310 hours. It also reads that this phone is “Recommended for rural handheld coverage”. Physical Dimensions: 121 x 63 x 10 mm.

Other specs: HSPA+ Tri-band (850/1900/2100MHx), EDGE/GPRS Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz, display WVGA TFT LCD 100.8mm (4.0”), TouchWiz for Android, GPS/GEo-tagging.

Its a good phone for the low price I paid (although it is outdated), it doesn’t feel heavy and the letters on screen are easy to read. This phone seems very plastic like and doesn’t seem very robust so I will be getting a matching rubber cover & protector for the screen display and the outer case.
