The flip5 screen broken twice due to factory quality issue. The first time was in the warranty - it was fixed for free with three month warranty. The 2nd time - it was 3-5 month over the two years factory warranty. It is costly to fix it, not worth… Read more
to fix it. The quality is really bad. I got the Samsung phone because I have Samsung tv and Samsung ai fridge.
Follow-up · Samsung does not care. Nobody contacted me.

Phone hinges fell off, just out of nowhere, didn't even realise they were missing until screen started malfunctioning, during warranty period. Samsung said, I dropped the phone or was user fault, despite phone being in immaculate condition. Then they asked me to pay 550.00 aud to fix the screen. When I said - No, - next they they said* ' out of… Read more
good will Samsung will replace for free' LOL this is a joke, im furious. Please read my review under flip z7
Flip 5 failed twice. Flip 4 failed once. Never again. I’ve been a loyal Samsung user since 2010, but after experiencing three separate foldable failures—two with the Flip 5 and one with the Flip 4—I’m done. My most recent Flip 5 fault happened… Read more
just six weeks after Samsung repaired the screen under warranty. The exact same issue returned. There was no visible damage, and staff at the Samsung local store confirmed that when I dropped it off. Now Samsung is claiming “physical damage” without evidence and quoting over $500 to fix what appears to be a repeat of the same fault. The WhatsApp rep recommended VOC.
This isn’t just bad luck—it’s a clear design flaw. A foldable phone that can’t survive normal opening and closing is not fit for purpose.
I've had to switch devices four times in one month just to stay functional, and Samsung's support process has been slow, dismissive, and unreliable.
For a phone that costs $1,799+, the experience has been incredibly disappointing.
Do yourself a favour—skip the flip, and buy yourself a Pixel instead.
Follow-up · Samsung followed consumer law and repaired the repair. However I would still never buy a Samsung again and have now bought a pixel :)
Rubbish phone. Pixels go black smack bang in the fold area. Good luck claiming warranty. Samsung will site any scratch on the surface of the phone, no where near the issue to void it. Might as well not even offer a warranty, but we know that is… Read more
against the law isn't it? Wink You pay all this money for tech that doesn't even last a year. Won't touch Samsung products again. They are certainly on my black list now.
Follow-up · If you need any further reading to support my review. Read through the reviews of Samsung's authorised repairer Tecworks and the numerous negative warranty claim experiences similar to mine involving zflip and zfold phones. They are big time duds.
I loved the convenience and size of this phone but the fold technology is far to fragile. Mine lasted about 12 months then the screen failed at the fold line. These phones are very flimsy and expensive. Show details
Reading other reviews, I now realise class action is not too far away—and that makes this experience even more frustrating. After just 16 months of use, my Galaxy Z Flip 5 developed the same issue reported by many others: the screen protector began lifting slightly at the fold, and within two days, a black line appeared and the inner screen… Read more
started to fail.
The phone is still under warranty, so I contacted Samsung support online. After over an hour with no resolution, I took it to their authorised repairer, City Phones. It took four business days and three follow-up calls just to have the job logged with Samsung. A week later, my warranty claim was rejected—without any detailed explanation—due to alleged "physical damage."
When I called, I was told it was because of a small dent on the back panel—something I hadn’t even noticed. The phone has never been dropped, has always been kept in a case, and is otherwise in excellent condition. I asked for a second inspection from another technician but the case manager [Name Removed] denied it and was rude.
What’s most disappointing is not just the product failure, but Samsung’s extremely poor customer service. There has been no accountability or transparency in how this has been handled. I’m now in contact with consumer protection authorities in Victoria to escalate the issue.
Samsung needs to do better. This is not how customers should be treated—especially when so many are facing the same defect.
I purchased this phone last year, and it came with 2 year warranty. After just 1 year of use, a vertical line appeared on the screen, and the display stopped working entirely. Despite still being under warranty, they have labeled the issue as 'physical damage' and put it under 'ABNORMAL USE' to avoid honouring the warranty claim, which would cost… Read more
$600 to repair. I am extremely disappointed. And to send the phone back to me, they charge $66, both case it's a loss for me. This experience has left me questioning the reliability of Samsung products and especially customer service.

I’ve had the device for ~18 months. Not my daily driver. Over the last few months the screen protector began to lift off the device. It wasn’t an issue but then the actual screen began to warp at the crease. It was still usable. Over the weekend the exterior panels both began to lift off the casing - as if the glue holding it in place had worn… Read more
off.
I contact Samsung and am referred to their service centre. I’ve just gone in where they questioned it, turned on the device, kept fiddling with screen protector and caused further damage to the device - essentially resulting in voided warranty by their mishandling.
When pointed out to them that this was not the case and that it was working perfectly fine, they insisted that warranty is void and nothing can be done.
For such an expensive device, the quality is absolute rubbish - and I wasn’t even using it daily. Yet I’ve got an iPhone 8 which still functions without any problem.
Just stay away because there is 0 value in this device and their “service” centres.

DO NOT HONOUR WARRENTY ISSUES. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE OF A COMPANY AND TERRIBLE PRODUCT – The hinges became exposed after an instore screen protector replacement. I can no longer close my phone without bits of the screen around the hinges falling off. Because of this hinge damage the LCD screen flickers. This was confirmed by the service tech in store. However when I sent it away it had a small chip on the frame ( not the screen) of… Read more
the phone samsung have claimed all warrenty is void due to physical damage. Samsung told me if I wanted an investigation into the faulty installation of the sceeen protector I needed to A) have time stamped photos of the phone before I dropped it off. And B) get the staff to admit fault in writing. Since when was it the consumers responsibility to investigate a complaint? I have tried mediation with consumer affairs but samsung refuse to come to a resolution. I've been a samsung loyalist for years however their lack of customer care and vagrant and persistent refusal to honour warrenty issues leaves me with a foul taste in my mouth.

Know better, choose better.
Jumped at last – Well I purchased the new Z flip 5 about 4 weeks ago and whilst I am not wedded to it just yet, I LOVE IT. I am not a tech head, I really just bought it for the double screen. I love using it for both work and personnel applications. It is great for reading PDF and spreadsheets for work and it is next level for playing games. I am still getting… Read more · 1
use to the whole Google thing after being an Apple user for so long but I am getting there.
Overall, I am a happy new Google Flip 5 user. I did take up the $15 a month option with Optus which allows me to start a new plan or go back to a new Apple phone at any time, I would suggest this option if you are not 100% sure as it is a massive investment.
Perfect size and my Office – Easy to carry by hand, in your pocket or handbag. Has many features, plus more. It is a mini Office that you can take anywhere with you. Has all your usual options, camera, message, call, text. The camera is very good and you have a selection of editing options. I can combine my email inboxes into one, I do not have to log into each one… Read more · 1
separately. I can use Docusign to sign and send important information away. You have the Samsung and Google pay options. It is your navman, calender alarm, calculator and gaming machine when your a little bored. Great phone, has everything you need and so compact.
This is a great compact phone – Brought this phone for my 17 year old daughter. She has always had iPhones until now and is glad to have made the switch. Was very easy to transfer everything from iPhone to Samsung. She loves how small it is when folded and fits nicely in her pocket. Camera quality is awesome. Being a teenager she uses my apps with no issues fast downloads. A great phone all round Show details · 1
