TV is not good quality – TV has lost its quality, showing white circles on screen. Annoying while watching TV. No help available. Have Bern told that it's the glue behind the screen is poor quality.

White Circles on screen - a photo – I see another reviewer has commented on white circles appearing on the screen. My TV has done exactly the same thing. Its not that old. This should not be happening Samsung. You need to fix the problem. It seems to be quite widespread. Is Samsung prepared to state on this website that it will repair at no cost its TV's that develop those white circles? I doubt it. I'll be buying something other than Samsung next time.

TV Showing white circles after 3 years. Customer service doesn't care – Purchased in 2017, started to notice showing arrays of white circles across the entire TV during covid lockdown. Searched online, seems like a common problem with Samsung TV product lines. Contacted Samsung customer service they did not care. They refused to fix or exchange, offered third party repair option which at my own cost. I am very… Read more

disappointed with their lack of service.

Samsung TV does not update software just like their smartphones, what you get on the purchase day is basically what you get functional wise, no useful future software update.

I wish Samsung could include Apple TV+ in their updates or TV app store, but NO.

Best TV I've ever had – This TV has been an absolute delight. It has a great Tizen powered smart HUB with everything from Stan, Netflix, and Foxtel to Amazon Prime, Tubi and Google Play Movies & TV. So you're spoiled for choice for movies and shows. The TV even allows recording regular TV to USB devices with the ability to even schedule recordings based on series. It… Read more

even has a dual-tuner so you can still watch a different channel while recording your TV shows. The picture quality is really good and really noticeable when playing the latest games. The input lag is also low when in game mode making this a great choice for gamers. It doesn't just look good though, it also has great soundbar support through HDMI ARC with support for both Dolby and DTS standards or can even up-mix stereo to surround with DTS Neo2:5. It also offers a wealth of settings for both picture and sound so you can tune it to perfectly match what you want from it. To top all this off, it even powers on and off super quickly. This really is my TV of choice.

Excellent TV – Very happy with the Samsung 50" 4k T.V. it has a snappy menu and a friendly and clean user interface. The quality of the screen is top notch very sharp and the colours seem balanced to me, whether it be watching movies, playing video games or using any of the apps in the menu. From 2-2.5 meters away pretty much any lower resolution youtube… Read more

video is watchable since the t.v does a decent job at upscaling. The fairly thin bezel around the screen is a nice touch as well. Only downside at this point is that we are still in the early days of 4k media content. However for the price id prefer this 4k (UHD) screen over a Full HD 1080P one so that when the media does become more available the t.v will already be able to display the higher quality content.

The stock stand is okay, its sturdy, held on by only a few screws and is fairly easy to assemble. There doesn't seem to be any option to adjust the screen tilt or height, it also puts the t.v. at a slight angle.

The sound is quite good for inbuilt speakers, pretty clear for the most part.

Gave it a 4 star rating over 5 because the remote isn't backlit nor does it seem to have any glow in the dark text to help navigate when the lights are turned off, found myself trying to feel for the buttons and pressing the wrong ones before finally getting up to switch on the light. It's not a deal breaker by any means but still something to consider.

Very happy - easy to navigate, good sound – I did a bit of research before lashing out for a new TV. I checked out the Choice Magazine website which provided a shortlist for me to work with, and I narrowed it down to this Samsung based on rating, features & price. I confer with Choice's findings that the menu system is easy to use & quite intuitive, which is helpful for the non-technical… Read more

members of the household. The remote control is fine, but the only thing that annoys me is the four small buttons at the bottom that control REV, PAUSE, PLAY & FWD. In dim light or for those with less than ideal eyesight, the buttons are small & hard to read.

I did some homework about what exactly 4K (UHD) is, since I was upgrading from a 15 year old CRT TV. Television stations transmit in SD (576 horizontal lines of resolution), HDTV (720p lines) or Full HD (1080 lines), so the benefit of UHD (2160 lines) resolution cannot appreciated watching TV. DVD media is SD and Blu-ray is HD, so again the UHD resolution cannot be utilised. From the technical articles I have read, where you do get to experience the benefit of all those UHD pixels is when you sit close to the TV, but, like most people, if you sit more than about a metre away (from a 50" TV), the human eye cannot differentiate between HD & UHD. Compare HD to UHD, yourself, in the shop - but the shops will probably only be playing HD content at best on the display TV's. I cannot see any benefit of having UHD in the home unless you have a super massive sized TV - but 4K UHD (and beyond) is used by cinemas, since they project onto such large screens.

The picture & colour is fabulous and the sound is very good. I will eventually hook up a surround sound audio system to it, but for the time being it has a great bass & mid range & top end. If you lose your remote control there is a toggle switch on the back of the TV which you can use to navigate the functions.

The Smart TV apps include Netflix, Stan, iView, SBS On Demand, YouTube, a web browser, etc. Navigating the web browser using up/down/left/right keys is really awkward & frustrating, so until a remote control with a mouse toggle is developed you're better off using your computer. Also, the TV Guide is really slow to load. Maybe it's my WiFi - I don't know, but other reviewers have mentioned it, too.

I like the TV's ability to detect your WfFi devices, like your laptop & phone so you can view the photos, videos & play music stored on those devices via the big screen - it's easy & intuitive. I am really impressed how photos taken in large format appear so crisp & clear.

Like all these TV's, the screen is reflective, so windows will be reflected on the screen in the daytime. The TV does not have a hard drive to record your shows on, so you have to connect your own external hard drive if you want to record. There are several HDMI & USB ports, component & audio/video jack to connect your VCR, DVD, Blu-ray & media players, T-Box, external hard drive, camcorder, camera, etc.

I purchased this 50" TV from The Good Guys which had it for a reduced price plus I had an eBay voucher which brought the price down to $1,015. That's a very good price for a 50" TV, I reckon.

Overall it's a top TV.

Great tv – This tv was a great tv as it is uhd 4k for my streaming plus you have the additional benefit of it being a smart tv so get thr apps such as tuning and you tube and of course netflix. Also comes with sports mode for thr footy which has stadium like sound and enhanced colour. Seem to be cheap to run electric for the size of it and doesn't put off much heat.pleased with the purchase.  Show details

Very nice TV – Received this as a warranty replacement for an older Samsung Plasma TV. Picture quality is excellent and the bump up from 1080p to 4k is definitely noticeable. I notice it is also priced quite competitively for a 4k TV. Would highly recommend. I also would highly recommend Samsung as they are very good with dealing with statutory warranty replacements, they were a pleasure to deal with.  Show details

Only a few years old – I brought my Samsung 6 series ( 50) in 2018 and already my wifi stop working. So not happy on it. I have to hook it up to my Apple TV to get Netflix or anything on line. Just lost all channels??? – I bought this TV about 3 years ago and like all the other Samsung's I've had/have it was pretty good, until one day when I turned it on and there was no reception. At first I thought it may have been a problem with the antenna so I tried it on another that was working with another TV but still nothing. I believe this was around 1400$ so I feel it should have lasted longer than it did. Show details

Good tv – We're quite happy with this TV, especially as we got it heavily discounted. I don't like that the guide is super slow and chunky, and once you get to the first station you have to go back in the other direction. The sound is good but the images aren't as crisp as I thought they'd be but maybe that is our signal... the set up was not at all intuitive and took hours. Overall I'm very pleased with it.  Show details

There is a good selection of apps built into the TV. Most importantly, Samsung updates their apps, which was a problem I had in the past. Samsung support is one of the reasons why I chose this brand of TV.

No regrets about this purchase.
