Worked well for 8 years – Have steady and consistent service for 8 years. It set off the circuit breaker twice in the last two weeks before breaking down for good. Good service while it lasted. Show details

Absolute junk! – Paid $150 from Harvey Norman, used it for 2 months then put it into a container for storage while I worked overseas. Came back a few years later, unpacked it, used it for 4 months and the internals are shot. Won't heat anything. Will cost more to repair than buying a new one. Magnetron gone. Total waste of money. Warranty no good. My previous… Read more

microwave was a Smeg that lasted for 20 years ... but of course it was not made in China.

Will. Never. Buy. Samsung. Again.

Has its problems, but can be made very reliable, has lots of reliable settings with excellent cookin – Take it from a guy that prefers the microwave over the oven, its size (32L) , its speed (1000W) and its surface (SS), which have made this the most reliable M/W ever owned for cooking and cleaning afterwards. Its quiet, lots of pre-settings/features and well built given the price point. Have had this microwave for six years now, entering my 7th… Read more

- nearing my expectation on its life expectancy. A long term relationship, with a bit of applied love language (i.e. electronics knowledge) after two errors that rocked our relationship a little in 2013, has resulted in the best and longest lasting of all the microwaves we have owned. (therefore this anniversary posting - Thank you & Congratulations to Samsung on getting us nearer my expectation on the life term of appliances like this).

The two issues experienced and their fixes:

1. Shielding the internal light with aluminium foil shaped into fins (i.e.) on the external surface of the plastic case has solved the bulb blowing out. (by dissipating a built up of heat around the bulb measured from my then new 2013 toy - a heat gun monitor)

2. As to the dreaded 5E or SE message, reported broadly on similar Samsung Models, this relates to sticking contacts between the keypad membrane and internal circuit pads. Some have reported cleaning the internal contacts at the back of the keyboard PCB plate has solved the error, this is only because they have flexed the PCB, and therefore the membrane, that sometimes relieves sticking contacts behind the keypad. The permanent fix is done by removing the soft-touch panel from the front of the microwave - which can be done without disassembling the M/W, from the front of the microwave. Carefully take a razor blade to a corner edge of the panel and gently peel back the membrane. Wipe clean the internal surface of the keypad circuit contacts - opposite surface to the membrane or the surface that the membrane comes into contact with. There is enough contact adhesive on the membrane to re-seat it back into the panel. This will remove a waste layer that sometimes forms between the membrane and keyboard contacts, often resulting in two or more keys making contact at the same time, or permanent contacts occurring without a key being pressed, thereby generating the error 5E/SE. (Cooking Rice over time in this oven will often create this layer due to the oxides given off by the rice that seep through to the internal membrane surface - gentle application of a solvent to the circuit contacts side of the keypad, opposite surface to the membrane, will often permanently resolve this layer forming).

Once these issues were solved, have had no other issues nor have the two experienced issues appeared again. Four years later and 7 years of life so far, its still going strong, reliable and no more errors/faults. I have found that Samsung often make their white-goods easily serviceable, with room to run modifications if need be. Any service agent would be able to apply the above fixes for less than $50 as a total cost, or you can do it yourself for free (other than your time).

Well done Samsung, as we enter our seventh year with this appliance, there is no seven year itch here.... Look forward to another Samsung M/W in 2 more years - as we enter our tenth anniversary - my benchmark for this type of white-good (NB: My wife's benchmark is 5 years).

Can't Recommend – Style wise this microwave is appealing, that's what got me in to purchase it. However, after some time using it there are apparent problems. Firstly the light inside stopped working within a couple of months! How! My old 16 year old Panasonic microwave is still on its original bulb! Also the menu for cooking is overly complicated. Trying to… Read more

simply input a level of heat and for how long is near impossible so you resort to just using the 1+ minute function for daily use. I love Samsung products, but this is not one of them!

Would not buy it again – I have had the Samsung ME9114w for just 2 yrs when it stopped working.Every now and again it would work for a few days ,then stop again.I only ever use it to cook 1 portion of porridge.Defrost now and again and reheat 1 dinner. It has not been overused .Now it seems to have given in altogether.I would not recommend this one. It kept showing S E .

Pure rubbish – This product defies logic after having it for 2 years the paint inside just crumbles and each time you clean it get worse and your sponge is full of paint and you must dispose of it.It works as a microvave as you would expect it does what is expected nothing special here It fits in the boot for taking to the tip The in side paint peels off

Trouble for 3rd time – I got this microwave in late 2010.. in these 3 years it broke twice already.. and it stopped working now.. tired of taking it to service centre twice already and its broken again now.. :-( definitely not worth the hefty price tag.. need to go get a new one now.. When it works, it works good. Stopped working repeatedly

Great little microwave – We spent a long time looking at more expensive models before deciding on this one and have not regretted our purchase at all. It had many of the functions the pricier microwaves seemed to have left off and when we got it home we found that it performs much better than our previous Sharp microwave. It comes with a steamer which cooks vegetables (fresh and frozen) perfectly. Great little microwave. Functions

second time broken – Bought this microwave last year, was very happy with all the functions, etc, however it broke about a month ago. It just went dead and it wont swith on at all. We had to drive half an hour away to have it repaired, collected it and was told it was a fuse and a faulty door switch. Had it only a week and its just gone dead again. Im told we can send… Read more
