TV failure just after 5yrs ⁉️ – We were happy with this TV for the first 4 years. This TV was good but last year started to show some shadows at the bottom of the screen. Now early January 2025, we have an additional 15 cm vertical shadow on the right part screen. Please see the attached photos of the screen showing its deterioration. Purchased 04 December 2019. This means that it just passed 5 years. I am not sure if it might be covered under the Australian consumer warranty as expected TV life for 80% of LED screens is at least 8 years (see last photo with the graph). This indicates that the problem is rather with the failure of the backlighting, probably design of manufacturing issue.
We were buying only Samsung TVs from its first LED product released in early 2000s. One of them the Samsung 46" UA46B8000 TV bought in mid 2009 for $4500 worked over 10 yrs. But now the Samsung TVs, like our RU7100, are hardly reaching 5 years with the falling quality. The RU7100 is one of two our TV sets, second is Samsung QLED 65" and we are very happy with this one.
The Samsung TV Crystal 43" at about $800 is a continuation of our faulty TV series but now we are reluctant to consider it for the replacement of the faulty one.
We are loyal customers but understand that repair of the 5 year old failed TV might not be a viable option. But we are not happy that the good TV lasted only 5 years and therefore we bought replacement which is a non-Samsung TV.
Although there are too many negative reviews, we wish Samsung to successfully mitigate the frequent common screen failures and also wish quick recovery of the good reputation.

Terrible - lasted just over two years before half of screen went black and then entire tv – Terrible tv, started off great but like so many others on this thread, the tv went dark on one side one day and then the other side then next day and now the entire thing is black - sound it playing but no picture at all. A waste of money, will never buy a Samsung tv again!

Very satisfied but – This is my second Samsung TV and I have always been happy with the sound, picture, apps, and build quality of both sets. I bought the RU7100 in December 2019 and recently bought a Sony Bluetooth WH-1000XM4 headset to pair to the TV. However, I have just discovered that Sony have said the headset is not compatible with Samsung TVs. This could be either a Samsung or Sony issue. Ouch! I guess I got burnt with this.

Expensive – This TV is in their budget range, however it seems to be overpriced for what you get. The TV remote is cumbersome and old looking. The screen had a LCD light bleed issue, which after seeing other reviews seems to be common with this model. Overall, for the price vs value there’s nothing special or feature worthy of this TV that would stop you from getting a much cheaper Kogan TV or something of the sort.
Purchased at Harvey Norman for $795.

Such an impressive upgrade – Due to weird spacing in the room we have been struggling to get a decent T.V for the space. The 43" is an odd size to read, but was amazing for the space, the quality is great. Its a small T.V yet the smart capabilities work great. Start up is really quick. Really recommend this range
