Just love the reply from a Sauber rep regarding replacement batteries no longer available. Your vacuum is now useless but Godfreys offer a trade in. So bring it back and we will sell you a machine that will actually work for a reasonable time . ( Until the batteries wear out ). We will then onsell the traded machine to another unsuspecting buyer. No wonder Godfreys is now Notfreys. Show details

Pretends to be expensive, but absolute garbage – I have bought one of these, then in 6-12 months the hose broke (at the head at the bottom). Then I was given a replacement head, then it broke again. Then I returned. Then they gave me a new box (brand new unit). So I ended up having two vacuums and 6 heads. All of them broke, battery died. no wonder they do not sell them anymore, probably went broke. Show details

It’s more of a Dustbuster then a cordless vacuum cleaner – I have had my Sauber for some time now and I’m not really impressed with its performance. I didn’t like pulling it apart to empty the dust bin and I didn’t like how the filter is not washable. For something priced in the Dyson range I expected something that would suck the nails holding my floorboards to the ground. The Sauber looks the part and… Read more

the suction is average but really it is just a cheap cordless vacuum in a fancy body with a fancy name slapped on it. It’s more of a dust buster than a vacuum. To be fair when I purchased this unit I was replacing an old Dyson so the Sauber didn’t stand much of a chance.

Good luck finding a replacement battery for it.

wish it would come with second battery – May 2020 Australia. ive been very happy with it for a year till battery let out i bought one and it was great for a solid year until the battery started fading badly and within a few months was basically unusable (then motor unresponsive). its in for repair on warranty when lockdown ends. in meantime i bought a new one (same). figured id have 2… Read more

of the same when old one gets repaired (same accesories, charger etc). on the new one i decided to check run time while it was new. i tested on full power (why would you want it low power) with power head on, a day after place had already been thoroughly vacuumed. On tight pile carpet: 8 mins. (emptied it and charged it overnight) then got 9mins on normal large tiles. it was good to know this. its different than the 'up to 30 mins run time' quoted. really need a second battery to do a modern (small) 4 bed house in one go. acessories are great, love its ability to clean (spikey dog hair in carpet is tricky for me and this does it quite well). surpisingly sturdy (nothing broke in first year) and ergonomical. could use a light on the head. but overall i really rate this (as long as you buy second battery and it can get at least 3 years out of it for the price $500aud 2020. im counting on the 2 years warranty and wing it for the third year and beyond)

Brilliant quality and suction – I researched for months on a new stick vacuum and narrowed down to either the LG or the Dyson. Before I went to compare prices at the good guys and jbhifi I went to Godfreys to talk to a vacuum expert. I tried both the LG and the Dyson ranges. However the salesperson introduced me to the Sauber Advance SA-100 and explained the technical aspects… Read more

and brand to me. I did my own research and found out that in my opinion it has better ratings than Dyson as it is built well and sucks up a lot more dust and pet hair and the reviews were very mixed about the quality of the Dyson and LG products.

Godfreys also offered a 10 yr strip and clean of the product yearly and a 2nd battery as part of the pack for $750. I have used it now for 3 months and it has not missed a beat.

Perfect for carpets and hard floor and the electronic furniture head is amazing on mattresses, doonas and sofas. It quickly removes pet hair. Battery is quick to recharge and I like the robustness of the parts. Really like the SA-100 and glad I bought one.

I manage to get 10 mins out of a power head use which does all my hard floors and carpets and the 2nd battery allows me to do the doonas and sofas. Love it!!

Trying to convince ourselves that this was a worthy Dyson V6 Slim replacement – Our impressions are heavily influenced by an unnecessary replacement of a Dyson V6 Slim, which we're trying to convince ourselves that it was a good decision. Let's call that one the "competition". Some points: * We /think/ that the competition had better suction / pick-up on Turbo mode, on a shabby carpet. However, the competition had a… Read more

narrower head (for better or worse), which probably accounts for the difference.

* Has a more solid construction.

* More difficult to clean the barrel. A few more bits to open from different ends (compared).

* Seems easier to clean the floor tool.

* Heavier.

* Quieter.

* Removable battery.

* All else being equal, it has a similar price point. Recently (Jun 2018) saw some Dyson v6s going for around $400.

* Has some floor tools which we probably won't be using: hard floor and pet, both with rotating things inside them.

* Don't need to keep pressing the button to keep it running. It's an on/off toggle.

* The blue light, while being charged, flashes somewhat brightly. If this is your bedroom, and you tend to vacuum to make yourself sleepy, you might be in for an annoyance. Would've been nicer if it were a softer colour / smaller LED.

Let's see how long it lasts for.

Best vacuum cleaner for allergies – Deep suction and cleaning after using this vacuum cleaner is clearly evident. Great for those with allergies and pet hair removal. Varies in suction dependent on floor type and this is an automatic sensoring. Show details ·  1

Perfect – I have had my Sauber cordless vac for 2 and a half years and use it at least 5 times a week as we have a husky and german shepherd that shed a lot of hair. It picks hair up perfectly on hardwood floors, and I only use low power, runs at least 30 mins. It's enough time to clean my 20 square home. When use on high power it lasts 15 mins. I have… Read more ·  1

never had any issue with charging battery. Never had Loss of suction. Easy barrel to empty. I like that you can open both ends. I have used Dyson previously and had all sorts of issues. This vacuum runs rings around Dyson, a good price for a quality product. I highly recommend it. I don't understand negative reviews.

Advance Sauber SA-100BP stick vacuums useless as battery discontinued – I'm very disappointed that this Advance SA-100BP model MB 2825A sauber stick vacuum will now have to go to land fill. I have been informed that the battery has been discontinued. Without a battery it is useless. A $500 machine that hasn't even lasted 5 years. Thankfully I didn't get rid of my Dyson barrel that is 23 years old and still working. Show details

Head Fail – I've had this machine for about 4 years. After 2 years, the hose where the stick meets the head cracked open. I had a spare head so have been using that, now this one has cracked, so no suction unfixable from what I can see. It's a 400km round trip to Godfrey's, so not easy to take in for an opinion. Battery is good, but vac now unusable. Show details

Under performs – Meant to be the "Dyson killer!" but battery life is poor. Sucking power is not bad on "Turbo mode" however on standard mode it's useless. Turbo mode does perform better than my Hoover Regal bagless vacuum. Most of the dirt falls back down when the machine is turned off. Should of bought the Dyson. Show details

Piece of crap – Fails to pick up anything larger than dust. You think it's picked it up but then it spits it all back out when you turn it off. 30 minutes run time (on low suction) is claimed. It got close to that for the first 6 months, now I'm lucky if I get 5 minutes out of it. Charge time of 5 hours is ridiculous. Seems this is an exclusive Godfreys… Read more

product making spare parts impossible to source from anywhere else. A replacement battery represents a third of the cost of the unit. Unacceptable.

The barrel is difficult to get it to lock back in to the main head unit after removal for cleaning. Has been a PITA since day one.

In summary, over priced for what it is, crap battery life, expensive replacement consumable parts, fails to meet the basic criteria for a vacuum cleaner. Absolute piece of crap.

Anyone writing a positive review has done so after a short period of ownership I'm sure.

dismantling the drum to clean is nearly impossible – I have hardwood floors and this vacuum stops dead at 20 minutes of runtime (completing 1 third of my apartment.). Recharging takes more than 5 hours but the worst of all is trying to pull it apart to clean the barrel. I end up taking it to Godfrey's who are starting to charge me every time they have to dismantle and clean it. Terrible waste of $499 at Godfrey's in Port Melbourne Show details

Joke of a vacuum cleaner – I've had this vacuum cleaner for just over 2 years. The suction is shocking on this. It picks up half of the dirt, if that. Then the small pieces fall back out of the vacuum when it's not in use. Even after I give it a good clean, the suction is very weak. It's also pretty heavy for a stick vacuum and doesn't last long once charged. Never again. Show details

Disappointing – I bought my vacuum in December 2018 from the local Godreys on salesman advice. waste of money – The tube clogs up due to insufficient suction. It is does not do the job. I spent $500 on it because the salesman said the cheaper ones don't do serious cleaning. It never worked from day 1. The salesman suggested i buy an extra battery (expensive) so I could run it on hi speed for longer. No difference. Then suggested I get it serviced for another $130. Why would i spend more on something that never worked? It's going out in the rubbish. Show details

Wish I got the Dyson – I was convinced by Godfreys to purchase the Sauber SA 100 made in Japan, better parts, warranty etc however 6 months in I'm really regretting it. Firstly it's quite heavy, but mainly I can not get crumbs in corners and now it seems to be blowing the crumbs/dirt around forcing me to go over the same area multiple times.
