Flew to QLD from NSW to look at the 2000 model car. Showroom quality the salesman said. Looked tidy interior and exterior. Paid for it and drove it to a mechanic in Tweed Heads for the blue slip check as it was going to live in NSW. The mechanic checked it over and said he wouldn’t be able to pass it. Over $4K worth of work needed doing on it. You can guess I was not happy.

- Both front wheel bearings had movement. - Multiple engine oil leaks (suspect rear main seal, oil filter housing, and lower and upper sump). - Front lower control arm rear bushes worn (a hole). - 2 x guard indicator globes white (should be amber/orange). - Left hand brake light globe issue.

Instantly rang the salesman and told him the issues and that I wanted my money back.

The only redeeming issue about the whole situation is that the salesman was sorry about what had happened and didn’t hesitate to sort out my refund. They also said that they would investigate as to what had happened and how it slipped through the cracks mechanically. Who knows whether that will happen?
