Very disappointed from the moment we walked in the door. Celebrating 2 birthdays for lunch. Waitress we had, had an attitude. Very pushy coming over all the time to take our order. We just wanted to settle in & read the menu on our own time. Very pricey for what you get & my opinion don’t get the seafood tower for 2. Oh!! don’t forget the hot… Read more
chips you get. You needed those to fill you. Now I’ll talk about my dessert , $25 for a reconstructed Pav omg served in a little glass, touch of Pav & about half a banana with cream. Wow I could have made that at home for $5 Again same girl shoving us the dessert menu. Give us a break being rushed all the time. Look I have eaten there before & had 4 different entrees to share. Which in my opinion the way to go, they were nice. And certainly would have chosen one of the other desserts if we hadden been rushed. Maybe they were better.? Walked out $345 later. Nice seat near the window as asked for. Wow I had a nice view of the water lapping on the rocks

We have been to Scratchleys many times over the years. The experience this time was very poor. The service was good, except for the moment when I asked if there is an additional menu for gluten free (one of us is Coeliac), to which the waitress snapped "they're all listed on your menu!" The cocktails were pricey and undrinkable - with a flavour… Read more
that none of us was able to identify. The seafood plate and the fish and chips were over $40 each, and we would have been better off lining up at the takeaway window out front to pay less than half for the same deep fried seafood (I suspect cooked from frozen). The seafood plate included two prawns, and an over-supply of chips. I find it strange that they take the wine bottle away from the table. We had to request top-ups and waited until they remembered to return with (presumably) the same bottle that we'd paid for. Why not leave it safely in sight. To finish the night, we were asked to "hurry up and finish" as they needed the table. We paid $300+ for the five of us and left feeling very disappointed.
Disappointing – Sadly my wife and I had lunch with a friend from Sydney yesterday 14/08/23. We have been regulars to Scratchleys for many years, yesterday will be the last time, our garlic bread was terrible we didn't finish the bread off and informed the waitress, entrees were mixed result average tasting, the mains my wife enjoyed hers but it looked like a… Read more
entrée size meal, my seafood basket was average, the squid was cold and tasted liked it was not cooked, prawns were like frozen pkt prawns, fish was ok but it was more like a pub meal, our friend had pasta and left half of his meal. M y wife contacted management last night as we didn't want to make a scene at the restaurant, wow the response added to our disappointment. On previous occasions we have eaten at Scratchleys and had wonderful meals with great service, I don't know what has happened, have they changed chefs, suppliers who knows but after the response my wife has received we won't be back.
Wasrte of money and terrible customer service handling complaints about their food – We have been requlars at this place for years and have received great service and quality food. However the local pub serves better food and my complaint was dismissed. It is sad when they are willing to lose their regulars but honestly it is a waste of money. Do not go there unless you want very average food and pay high prices and get no service.
Pricey but nice – Good food, good service, pricey & a couple of items not cooked to personal choice but still a good overall experience.
Remember this guy ! – The owner is one of the architects behind abolishing penalty rates for the hospitality industry. If you prefer fancy fish and chips this is the place to go. The view of the harbour is nice.
