While this machine does a reasonable job of cleaning my clothes etc, it’s incredibly noisy. It’s like living with a cement mixer, even with my laundry cupboard doors closed it’s still impossible to ignore the noise. I only have a small space in my laundry for a machine and this one was the only one that met my requirements, so I’m stuck with it. I do not recommend it.

Purchased in for $317.

Soft wash cycle acts like a demonic whirlpool – I've only recently bought this washing machine. It is available at Appliances Online (not sure why it says discontinued here). Anyway. I use a lot of wool clothing and so I definitely need a machine with a gentle wash cycle. I didn't notice anyone who had listed issues with this model and it had a good rating, so I purchased it. What a mistake. The "soft" cycle is almost as aggressive as all the other cycles. This is a very powerful agitator and probably would be good for stained clothes and tough material. But it will destroy wool even if the fabric is in a fabric protector bag. It literally looks like a horror movie whirlpool on the "soft" cycle as well as all the other cycles - it's hard to tell the difference! According to Appliances Online, the machine is not faulty so they won't let me exchange it for an different machine. To their credit they let me exchange the first unit but the second unit (same model) had exactly the same issue. When I called Seiki, the tech support said it sounded really rough, but again indicated this was probably by design and they could only help with faults. Very very disappointing. Waste of money. Don't buy this machine if you have machine-washable woolen clothing.

Compact Washing Machine – The Seiki SC-7000 is a compact washing machine that works perfectly for a starting washing machine. Cheap but effective, with a range of programs (mostly rely on the standard and quick options) and has not resulted in any damaged/shrunken clothing as of yet. Easy to clean the filter and quite quiet when in operation.

Purchased in at Appliances Online for $416.
