Select Kitchens are an absolutely amazing company to engage for anyone contemplating a new kitchen. They are wonderful to deal with from beginning to end. The entire team at Select are polite, punctual and highly professional. We could not be any happier with our new kitchen!

that they are on top of the latest trends. They build their own cabinets and that was a big plus for us. We checked out some other providers and it became clear that they were outsourcing the cabinetry. Damian was our designer, and we felt at ease with him straight away. We appreciate his sense of humour, and he made the whole process move along smoothly. Select have processes that make sure errors don’t occur. Everything is checked with us multiple times before putting our job into production. We even popped in to the factory to see our kitchen before it was delivered. Shaun was our project manager, and we were very impressed with his follow up. We were never left wondering what is going on. He provided us a full schedule and kept us informed of any changes as they occurred. Our home is quite old and it presents challenges with renovations. Select seem to have dealt with all manner of renovating difficulties in their history. Our job was finished on time and the quality of the products and workmanship is high end. We gladly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a hassle-free renovation.

They followed us up when we had not made decisions yet, to make sure the job kept moving along. The designer was not pushy like we experienced at other companies. They patiently waited for us to sign a contract when we were ready. If we didn't understand something, they broke it down for us to grasp what its all about. The quote they provide is broken down to every item being done. There was no confusion about the plan. The drawings they provided for our approval include a lot of detail.

Shane and the project managers were always on top of the co-ordination. We didn't have to chase anyone to keep the works going. They were accommodating with our idiosyncrasies and the tradies cleaned up before going home each day. It was a pleasurable experience form beginning to end.

up where we left off. They didn't put any pressure on us. Chandler made sure every minute detail was correct before putting our job in to production. We found asbestos shortly after commencement and had to deal with that. They sent a licensed remover for the asbestos and made sure it was all safe to resume. I have attached a couple of pictures to show the before and after. It looks completely different now and I can't believe how bright the room is. I now have an area to hide away the kettle and toaster. I also have corner drawers. They are huge inside! They even found a way to put another drawer under my oven.

The job ran smoothly and we have since signed up to do our bathroom. Select kitchens were professional throughout the process and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks heaps to Shaun, Mark, Glenn and Dave who worked on our kitchen. (sorry if I have forgotten anyone). These guys were all polite and careful with my floors and walls. matched the design and specifications very well. We were always involved in the process, discussing any changes and variations required. We are very happy with the finishes (which are top notch) and the joinery is excellent. We cannot fault the tradespeople we ended up with. They coordinated well with the trades I had organised myself (painter, electrician and floors). Select Kitchens also dealt with any permits and surveys required.

Any defects (not many considering the scope of the job) have been attended to quickly and without fuss.

With a job the size of ours, the only thing that let them down a little was not having a dedicated site or project manager to ensure everything was done to spec correctly and to coordinate all the trades. However, saying this, any issues were addressed by Shane and Cosi from Select very quickly and without fuss.

All in all, we are very happy with the final product and with all the people who we dealt with on the job.

was needed to help us come to final concepts. After we locked down the price and choices they came and inspected the job for 3 hours to make sure every 't' was crossed and every 'i' dotted. Shane checked all the measurements, levels, lighting and existing pipes. He went through all of our selections and made sure they were correct again. We still needed to choose tiles for the splashback and so Kaz met us at the tile shop to go through options again. We eventually went with a porcelain splashback.

Then they sent us really detailed plans with everything we had discussed already. Chandler identified a couple of issues with our appliances and we were able to make some small changes to comply with regulations. We booked in a commencement date and waited eagerly for it all to happen. They started on the agreed date and were very professional from beginning to end. The tradesman were tidy and left the area clean after each days' work. A special thanks to Jordon, Dylan, Dave, Greg and Mark. These guys were so courteous to us and treated our home with such respect. The bathrooms are next, we’ll be back soon!

Chandler and the detailing team made our plans look immaculate, covering every fine detail of the renovation plans. Select made the permit process easy, submitting all of the necessary documentation to the council for us. Once the job started Wes took over the project management and we knew straight away that we were in good hands. He kept us informed throughout the renovation of the progress and any hiccups that came along. The finished product is a high quality job. Its easy to see that high end products have been used. Terrible experience, 6 weeks turned into 6 months – I paid for my kitchen to be replaced as well as some new cabinetry in the dining area and 3 bedrooms, in total $60k of work (not including appliances, tiles or painting) I am giving 2 stars because the cabinetry is of good quality and does look fabulous. and so has my family and we found them to be amazing. This time around it has been a completely different experience and I wouldn't use them again.

* I found the designs were lacking detail and creativity and did not maximise storage space which was my key brief. I was able to request changes and get a design I was happy with so overall this was not a huge issue. I was disappointed as the designer I had previously had from Select had fabulous ideas about maximising space and funny shaped areas.

* The contract stated 6 weeks for all of the work to be done, plus a few days for unplanned work. At 23 weeks, I told them not to come back as I was over having trades in my house. My spare key had spent such a long time in the outdoor lockbox, the keyring is covered in rust.

* The electrician didn't do a very neat job so I had to ask for him to come back for basic items, like the led strip having power cables in front of the light that was very visible and creating a shadow.

* Despite being very clear about a couple of powerpoints needing to be moved before cabinetry is installed, the cabinet installers built the cabinetry first. One of these powerpoints was then installed inside the buffet unit instead of outside where a lamp would get plugged into. This took a long time to then resolve.

* I noticed some food went missing. I was told the cabinet installer accidentally broke it and threw it out. I strongly suspect he ate it and hid the rubbish. He wasn't capable of tidying any work mess, yet claims to have cleaned a food mess.

* The same cabinet installer also liked to use my kitchen stools as his cutting stands and cut the cabinetry inside my lounge and kitchen area without any protection from dust. My lounge was covered in cabinetry dust and I spent a number of evenings after work cleaning to make the house safe for both humans and pets. When I complained about the amount of dust, a vacuum was then left but the tidy up wasn't much better. Ultimately I don't believe anyone should be cutting cabinetry inside a home. Every item and every wall was covered in fine dust.

* When the kicker for the dishwasher was installed it wasn't trimmed down so that it then broke when I attempted to open the dishwasher. This was fixed, but as a professional kitchen company I'm surprised this would even happen.

* My fridge space fits my fridge nicely but I can't open the doors fully, which then prevents the drawers from opening. I have to have the fridge sitting out further than the wall on the door hinge side so that I can open the doors fully. Another detail that I'm surprised by given this is their area of expertise.

There were many small details I had to keep having them back for. Many were resolved but just kept adding time. I was even sent an invoice for the final payment before the kitchen had been finished. There didn't seem to be anyone who truly knew where this job was at and they were relying on me telling them about what still needed to be done.

I asked for a discount given the extended time had cost me money putting my dog into pet care every week and I had also had to pay for a hotel when family came to stay but couldn't due to the delays. I was offered $500 off.
