Great quality headphones – Bought these headphones for my Husband for Christmas last year and he coudnt be happier. He had a pair of Sennheiser headphones many years ago so we knew they would be a high quality product. He uses them plugged into both his phone and the laptop without any problems. Decent length on the cord. Good quality headphones. Well worth spending the extra money.  Show details

Boyfriend loves them – Bought these for my boyfriend and he can’t fault them. They have become his favourite headphones and after trying them on I can see why! The sound quality is amazing. He has experienced problems with one side not working but Sennheiser has a great warranty and he was able to easily get a replacement from JB Hifi.  Show details

Over ear headphones by Sennheisser – Quality clear sound reproduction from retail $179 over ear headphones. Ear pieces are shaped at an angle and can become uncomfortable over time. The sound is clean and reproduces base and treble well. great for use with Android mobiles and it comes with additional plugs. I bought it for use with the DAC chip in the LG G6 and it gives a auditorium quality surround type sound.  Show details

Average – Received as a gift and had high hopes for this quality brand. Comfy enough for a hour or so but as most, extended use isn't great. The disappointment for me was the volume. Used on a Nexus 5X, the max volume would not be enough to drown out a vacuum cleaner. The sound quality is upto scratch for what you pay.  Show details

Great sound, but needs an amp – These are a great headphone. You're buying the best possible sound for your money. No bluetooth, no active noise cancellation, no royalties slushed through to already wealthy celebrities - and definitely no bling. In fact for a Sennheiser these actually look and feel fairly cheap. They are however very light which means comfort to the point… Read more

you forget you're even wearing them. The sound is warm and neutral with plenty of detail. Bass heads won't like these as none of the frequency spectrum is over stated - meaning they won't go thud thud thud. This headphone wouldn't be my first choice for dance or rap. Classical, vocal, well recorded rock? Definitely. Although the 471 is designed and sold to to be paired with smartphones/tablets and other portable audio they simply don't go very loud. I'm surprised at this, as the impedence is 32 ohms which means driving them should be relatively easy. Not so. I went and purchased an aftermarket USB headphone amplifier and they now sound great, but running straight off an iPhone - way too soft.

They only get 4 stars as for $170 (often less if you shop around), I'd expect a slightly classier build, and better sensitivity. Cannot fault the sound however.

A very good and trustworthy headphone for its price – I wanted a good pair of headphones but I want prepared to spend too much money. The HD471 is what I decided upon and I'm very happy. The bottom end of the range is full, round and bassy - not too loud or overpowering, but strong and present. Completely satisfied with the trebles and higher pitches. Never squeak out. The headphones are light to… Read more

carry but seem fairly sturdy. My only issue is that one of the cables broke (probably my fault) and I lost the other cable it came with. So that means only one of the ears was working. But I easily could have ordered a replacement off the Sennheiser website I found. I got one off eBay instead. Very happy.

Excellent head phone – I've been a sennheiser fan for years now, i bought my first heady while i was still in the UK,through the year it is just the brand i trust and i admire due to the price, built and sound. Got 3 of this for me and my children. We all enjoyed the use in our own little way listening to music or simply while watching tv.  Show details

These are great for electronic drums – Had some $35.00 head phones no good bought the sennhieser no comparison they do the job very well. They block out pad & cymbal tapping sounds so you can only hear drum sounds.
