I can highly recommend the Sennheiser Brand. The products are top quality. I bought the wireless in-ear headphones and wow the sound is excellent. You may pay a bit more but its well worth it. Show details

2 failures and limited warranty on replacement units – My first Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds failed within 6 months. The in-house service team was great: after inspecting them, they sent a brand new replacement set. That second set failed almost 2 years after having received them. I contacted the service team again. Sennheiser have now subcontracted all service calls to Sonova Hearing… Read more

Australia Pty Ltd, who informed me that: "We warrant our products for a period of two years against manufacturing defects and have replaced the product in line with our warranty. It is unfeasible for warranties to reset when a replacement product is provided. As you are no longer covered under warranty, a replacement is not available to you."

In short: Sennheiser feels that they only have to give you a replacement unit which lasts long enough to cover your initial warranty period. Great trust in their own device quality!

I'll buy another brand for now on.

Do not waste your money! – I got this product as a part of a 12 month newspaper subscription. I was initially very excited as the basic reviews on the Momentum earbuds was that they are a great sounding product and have a life of about 8 hours. Sounds good in theory, but unfortunately I was left bitterly disappointed for the following reasons. Firstly it started off the… Read more

left ear bud stopped working in the first 30 seconds. I did what the Sennheiser site said and I updated the firmware, reset the settings with no joy. So Sennheiser in NSW tell me to ship their product back at a cost to me, so I did. The second set lasted about 3 weeks with the same issue and again I had to pay for shipping back to NSW only to receive a third set. Two weeks on, left earbud has stopped working (just like the others). Further to this very dodgy product is that even after you charge it, the earbuds do not totally switch off when returned to the case and they continue to drain the battery. So essentially if you charge the earbuds tonight, they will be dead by morning or very close to running out of power. Turns out from the reviews I’ve read elsewhere indicate that this is a common problem and actually a design fault. Sadly this has not been rectified with a firmware update or a product recall because it’s a major design flaw. In short, do not buy this product, you will be wasting $299 of your hard earned money for nothing. In my case I’m stuck with a 12 month newspaper subscription in addition to the shipping cost of sending a useless product twice back to Sennheiser. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for something reliable. Sound quality is ok, but nothing to brag about either.

Overpriced for what you get – I listen to a variety of music genres (classical, bass, EDM, podcasts, jazz, R&B etc). I especially enjoy bass tones. I opted to purchase this product due to my satisfaction with their wired earphones I purchased in the past. Pros: - looks good - comfortable, suitable for daily activities - water proof & sturdy (sent through the washing machine &… Read more

survived, although I wouldn't recommend this) - noise cancelling & transparent feature is great - app is easy to navigate

Cons: - suboptimal bluetooth (it occasionally cuts out when I put my phone in my back pocket of my pants rather than the front for some reason) - design flaws regarding basic features. eg. I prefer wearing one earphone in when I'm out in public (even though the transparent feature suffices to hear your surroundings. It only allows you to wear your right ear piece but when a phone call goes through, the answering button is on the left ear piece... so... you have to pull out your phone anyway to answer. I just thought that was a feature that didn't quite make sense to me. - expensive - microphone barely works. eg. when I answer a call the receiver can barely hear me so I find I disconnect my bluetooth and change to talking on my phone. I'd rather use their wired earphones for chatting. - sound quality is satisfactory (as you would expect from this reputable company & the price). EQ could improve to cater for a wider audience - battery life is satisfactory, again for this price you would think it'd be a little more superior to its competitors - limited volume. Perhaps my hearing is limited, their maximum volume is not as loud as I'd want it to be.

Utterly disgraceful battery life and shocking bluetooth reliability – These headphones offer quite reasonable sound quality which is to be expected from a company that's been in high end audio for decades. Unfortunately, that's where any positive comments or experiences end. I'm not just a Sennheiser bagger before I begin here. I own a set of their PXC550's and I love them and would highly recommend them to anyone… Read more

as a pair of over-ear headphones. They're awesome and unfortunately that is what prompted my decision to buy these awful little excuse for an earbud in the Momentum TW.

Firstly Sennheiser claims that you will get 4 hours use on the buds themselves followed by an additional 8 hrs from the case. BAAHAAHAA ! That is complete and utter fantasy on their part. The battery life on the Momentum TW's is nothing shy of disgraceful !

They go flat over night sitting in the case doing nothing ! They DO NOT turn off in the case as stated in the instructions and as advertised.

There are many reviews stating the horrific battery drain that these suffer and it really is that bad. Sennheiser released a firmware update that supposedly fixed this; IT DIDN'T. It is so bad that most of the time when you want to use these earbuds, you can't as they're flat. Even better though, when the case goes flat, the headphones will randomly connect to your phone if its close enough and suddenly you're unexpectedly hands free !

Sennheisers customer service is pathetic. "IF" they contact you regarding your request for assistance (It took nearly a week for me via my second attempt through email as they didn't respond to messenger) "Oh, we recommend that you charge the case every 24 hrs as the internal circuitry drains the earpieces"; Seriously ?!! NOT WHAT YOUR DOCUMENTATION SAYS SENNHEISER

On top of shocking battery life:

> Terrible Bluetooth connection. Drops out regularly even though the phone is in your hip pocket.

> Forgets its pairing occasionally requiring it to be manually re-paired to the device if you've been using it with another device between uses (Sennheiser claim that you can pair 8 devices. Yes you can, but their appears to be a terrible case of amnesia between device uses on the part of the buds !)

> Whilst these do sound great (if they'll either pair or aren't flat); to get that sound, you actually really have to screw them into your ear, dip them about a bit, screw them about again and they are not very comfortable once seated. If you just pop them in without doing this, the sound is average at best and no better than a $30 wired set irrespective of your choice of bud tip size.

The buds themselves are made from a 2 piece plastic moulding and whilst screwing them into position in the ear, the seam of the joint digs into your ear after having them seated correctly for the best sound. I found them quite uncomfortable, even painful at times.

These are marketed as a premium product and they attract a corresponding price tag yet they have so many failings it is beyond belief. Yes; they do sound good, great even; but not significantly or even noticeably so over their competition and their negatives far outway any positives.

These are a significantly flawed product that Sennheiser seem to not give brass razoo about when you contact them (if you can get them at all !)

NO WAY COULD I RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE.

I replaced these under warranty as not fit for purpose nor as advertised with a pair of alternative earbuds which I have found to be vastly superior in almost every way to this disgraceful offering from Sennheiser

Customer Experience:

Intermittent, flakey, unreliable Bluetooth connection Impressive sound but you have to shag about getting a proper fit each time to get it, otherwise they are less than average. Not particularly comfortable. They have a sharp case joint thats just plain painful. Relatively inobtrusive in ear. They don't stand out to others when wearing them SHOCKING battery life. Seriously, a steam rolled snake won't be as flat as these ! Build quality is OK. Plastic construction with sharp seams Very average App, it doesn't even offer a proper EQ to tune them to your taste ! No ANC, but the passive noise isolation is very good Smallish, well designed case. Unfortunately, it discharges constantly. Complete rip off - Not Fit For Purpose, can't be relied upon to work or connect Pathetic customer service on behalf of Sennheiser. When they finally did make contact, the service agent could not understand that I was even referring to earbuds, not overears even though the product was spelt out. They couldn't spell, rather than attempt to fix my issue, just offered excuses, told me that they work contrary to as advertised or as per instructions and then offered a set of replacement overears to replace my overears ! After this, the messenger version of the service team responded and again offered overears as a replacement !

Long term, known issue by Sennheiser that they haven't fixed and appear to have no care to do so You'll hope these might work and will be disappointed more often than not Conclusion: Do yourself a favour and save yourself the hassles that I've gone through with this garbage offering from Sennheiser. If you're after ear buds, buy yourself a set some alternative brand instead. The claims that Sennheiser make on paper regarding battery life and connectivity in real life are just not the reality and for a device at the price point that they are marketed at, that is just unacceptable. Indeed, for me, its bordering on false advertising as in no way in my view is the Momentum TW fit for purpose and should be removed from market.

After sales support from Sennheiser has been shocking for me (it may differ for others). They just didn't give a crap. Just don't go there people. You'll be regretful of it if you do.

Third time not lucky – So I bought these puppies in February after reading a great review online, so I forked out the $500 and was like the cat that got the cream. Got them paired up to my phone and wow the sound was really good.Fast forward to August and a new firmware update came out so I thought why not, could take up to 60 minutes it said no problem so I popped the… Read more

kettle on and made myself a nice cup of nescafe blend 43 cleaned the house and went to check to see how the update was going ..that sucker had moved 2 mm if I was lucky .Back to the shop where I bought them after an email to sennheiser saying they where possibly faulty. The place of purchase didn't have any so I took a leisurely hour drive in peak hour to the nearest store to get my replacement pair.Got home and like a kid in a candy store ripped the wrapper and charged them up ...same thing wouldn't update, right side went flatter quicker than.left, drop outs. So they where popped into an express post bag back to Sennheiser (at my expense but hey was probably cheaper than driving an hour and a half back to the shop,) Got my replacement replacement pair as they too where deemed "faulty" so once again charged them up ..And lo and behold I got them to update after being very persistent...popped them in my ears and took my dogs for an hour walk while listening to the dulcet tones of Cyndi Lauper ( if you haven't heard her sing At Last as Molly would say do yourself a favour..that last note) all was going swimmingly until I tried to skip Madonna material girl and I was greeted by this lovely lady repeating over and over and over again "volume min" see even she doesn't like Madoona.( what's white and lays on the bed..Madoona) anyway rhis lady wouldnt stop i tried turning them up by the right ear bud and my phone but no she kept fighting me and down to minimum volume they went..if they didn't cost me half of a weeks wages they would of been turfed into the bush...so my last 30 minutes of the walk was spent listening to my dogs puffing and the occasional kookaburra laughing at how i sounded as I belted out Mariah Carey all the way home.so I popped them.in the charging case for a bit and went back and tried them again and yay I had killed that woman well so I thought ...that was until today as I settled in for my 1 hour and 40 minute flight to go back to work I placed my fancy Sennheisers in my ears and the guy sitting next to me popped on his over ears Beats by dre i had a little chuckle to myself they are so 2018.Anyhoo as i was tapping away to my tunes the in flight service came through and i went to turm them down and there she was again "volume min" lady i must of said it out loud "oh my god would you just p..s off lady" to which the cabin crew said to me I was only asking if you wanted a meal sir ..I apologised profusely and was given my meat and spinach gozleme ( all I can say is no q....s) they came through and cleared our rubbish and cabin crew was a bit snippy when I asked if she wanted to buy a pair of near new black ear rings that sometimes talk to you and would match the pink on her uniform. Back into the charging case they went ( I was smart this time and had it in my pocket) and took them.out a few minutes later ..they lady was gone but so had everything else they now won't connect to my phone and I am writing this on a two and a half hour bus ride to work listening to not my very extensive spotify playlist but 50 miners sniffing burping and the occasional botty burp thrown in for good measure. Winning

A pleasure to listen too – I used Loyalty points to acquire these headphones after being disappointed with the sound quality of a more mainstream brand. From the moment I put them in my ears, a couple of months ago, you could tell why these are priced high. The sound and detail is exceptional for a pair of in-ear wireless buds. I waited though before reviewing them as they… Read more

had a few bugs and thought firmware could address these. Now with the latest (1.26) firmware I believe the bluetooth connection/disconnection bugs have been addressed and the mic call quality through them has improved. I still don't think they are perfect(4.5 stars if it were an option), they still need to be charged regularly and it would be great if they could sync to more than 1 bluetooth source at one time, (and for their RRP noise cancelling would help justify the price tag) but that aside they are a great set of wireless headphones. Are they worth $500 AUD rrp? I wouldn't say so, but some places sell them for $400, or if you can leverage a loyalty points program, you won't be disappointed. They are will built and the case is great (while lacking wireless charging).

Great sound quality – I’m an avid headphone lover since I was in secondary school. So I have a quite a few pairs of earphones/headphones which I use them in rotation. Since 2018 (or new iPhone took a ‘courage’ to remove the headphone jack), we’ve been bombarded with lots of new wireless earphones. Although I’ve been using QC35 and 1000XM3, these were my first time… Read more

using wireless earphones. Before I bought these, my go to choice of pairs of earphones had been IE80 and B&W C5 Series 2. However, ever since I bought TrueWireless, I mainly use these earphones because wireless is so convenient. They block enough outside noise (even on the train) and they have very nice Sennheiser signature sound like IE80 (good mid and low). The high is not ‘crazy’ good but they are good enough for occasional classical music. I think I read somewhere that these are using the same inside unit as ie800 and although I agree they share pretty similar sound signature, I can still hear a difference when I’m listening to ie800 and the True wireless. But I still prefer listening to True Wireless because they are comfy and don’t really like the fit of ie800. The only downside is there is no multi device connections (like Sony...) and sometimes it gets really annoying. And they looks hideous .

Excellent sound, and comfortable but painful bluetooth – Used these now for a week or two. Very impressed with the sound and comfort. Reason for 3 stars and not 5 is due to the fact that I have to consistently unpair and pair again when taking them out of the case. In other words the auto reconnect does not seem to work well. I pair them to a Samsung Note 8. For earbuds that cost $499 that is unacceptable. Hope a firmware update will fix it after which I'm happy to change my rating to 5 stars.
