Dont waste your money. The main thing that influenced my purchase was the promise of a self cleaning brush as well as "its effective, maintenance-free hair removal", As i have 2 cats it seemed perfect, After 2 weeks the "self cleaning brush" has clogged over 5 times". As i was recovering from a broken spine I was unable to return it for a refund… Read more
so now im stuck with a useless vacum & down $220. If only I had waited & got myself a dyson. Note the latest clogged piece my vacuum spewed out
I cannot get over how good this thing is. Battery life I cannot comment on, as it wasn’t fully charged before I decided to try it. We’ve been away for 2 weeks and a friend was feeding the dogs. So this portion of the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in… Read more
probably 3 weeks as I didn’t do it before we left.
Suction is absolutely amazing, see picture. My Miele bag vac struggles to get the fur up from one of my retired greyhounds. This did the job on boost which is probably why the battery ran out but it was probably 15 mins of vacuuming. Our house is quite large and I got this for the bedrooms, and decided to try it on a ‘hard’ area and it didn’t disappoint.
If it died would I replace it with the same? An absolute yes based on this.
Follow-up · Easy to empty the dustbin once you have the hang of it. Not quiet at all. Pet hair on carpet is amazing, and does an alright job on the hard floors. If I had more hard floors I would maybe look at something else. My sister brought the next model up and said the same thing.
We purchased this vacuum cleaner at Myer for a very good price. It works well, with good suction. It's lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. It's easy to store given its relatively compact size. I use it on carpet but it can also be used on our… Read more
jarrah (timber) flooring, but I've yet to try it on the latter.
The only difficulty I initially had was trying to work out how to detach the dust container: it turns out there's a press button on the main nozzle one has to press.
The rechargeable battery works well but it does take a few hours to charge, not that I've yet needed to do this a second time.
Follow-up · There is a small attachment to use for edges. It is fairly loud, but no louder than our previous vacuum cleaner. The dust bin capacity is small, but this seems typical of this design of vac.
Compared to Dyson I'm not a fan. Pros: has a light at the front of the head; you don't have to pull the trigger, works great on wooden floors. Light weight. Cons: Noisy like a plane; didn't pick everything up off the carpet and I had to go over places to try and get the bits. Purchased as a gift for my brother. I much prefer my Dyson for its power. Quality much better than I expected since I've had a Dyson in the past Show details
Honestly I have been wanting a shark for awhile after using cheap Kmart ones for years. I was quite disappointed that it just isn't what everyone makes it out to be. The suction is average and not really powerful, I find myself going over places a couple of times to get stuff up properly. Maybe that's just how cordless vacuums are I don't know… Read more
as this is the first time owning one.
It's VERY loud, mostly the self cleaning brush making the sounds
It does not suck up edges against walls so you will have to use the attachments to go around the corners.
The battery life doesn't seem like it lasts 40 minutes as I fully charge it and then do a 15 minute vacuum and it's on the last bar by the end of it.
Probably best off getting a corded one if you want to get the job done properly if you have kids.
The power enhancer on it does nothing but drain the battery faster.
I like that it has grips on the back so you can put it anywhere against the wall and it'll stay in place.
It's medium weighted, I wouldn't say too heavy or light. I'm able to vacuum one handed.
Has 2 functions for carpet or flat surfaces and easy to just do a quick vacuum around the place.
Worked well for a year. Then the power system died. Kaput. Dead. Support from Shark was hopeless. Overall feel like I wasted my money. Show details
Excellent product – I was doubtful of purchasing this because of how well priced it is but am glad i did. If you want a vaccuum that is just as good as a dyson but nowhere near the price this is for you. I LOVE it. The only reason i only gave it four stars is for not having a stand for when not in use .
Amazing Vacuum, Cannot believe the grot I had been living in before using this! – Literally the best vacuum I have ever owned. I have used multiple different types and brands of vacuums such as industrial vacuums, cordless you name it! I couldn’t believe the dog hair and dirt that came up from my carpets using the Shark, mind you this was even after using a pet sweeper which made my carpets look clean, but boy was I wrong! 100%… Read more
recommend this vacuum. I’ll probably never buy another brand again! The photo of all the hair and dirt was just from my master bedroom
Happy customer – Very impressed with the suction on tiles, carpet, and lounge. Good solid build. Easy to dismantle to charge, and to store in cupboard. Great price at The Good Guys Show details
Not fit for purpose – Do not buy this vacuum!! It is really heavy and your arm will ache after using it for a few minutes. It is also not fit for purpose, as there is no flexibility in the head so you can't vacuum under furniture. Shark does not manufacture a multiflex wand for this model (the IZ102 has a straight wand only) which would alleviate this problem.
Doesn’t stand alone – Only used couple of times, so far so good Only thing it doesn’t stand on its own and never came with wall holder?
Get this one. But check the weight carefully first – From what I can tell, when buying a stick vacuum you are looking for the least worst. There isn't a best because all have significant shortcomings. It was on that basis that I bought the Shark, despite never having heard of the brand before; it seemed to have the least bad reviews. The two major shortcomings are it doesn't hold the tools onboard… Read more
and it is heavy. I discounted the weight as 'it can't be that bad' but I was wrong, it only takes a few minutes before your arm or wrist is sore. Because of it's weight, the handle is less comfortable than it would be. What is great is its suction and battery power. I can do our tiled floor on the low setting and pick everything up; carpet needs the high setting. I love the light! I wish other manufacurers of vacuums had it. The attachments with the lock in clips feel solid, stable and reliable. Remove the long stick from beween the head and the motor - the shortened version is sensational for doing the stairs; the pick up of the roller head along skirting boards is impressive. The battery life is truly good as is the versatility of taking it off or leaving it on the unit to charge. Opening the bottom of the head to clean it out is easy - just get a coin or similar and click the lugs around to unlock. Dog hair is why I bought this and I use it daily. After a couple of uses (see photos), it already had hair in an unreachable place in the cover above the roller. Additionally, the tiny wheels on the front are the worst design issue. The hair rolls around them and knots up. I clean the machine after every use, and yet. The last thing that is frustrating is it doesn't have a stand or wall clip. It is so top heavy that storage is difficult. I put up my own hook with a rope to hold ot should it fall. The only thing that would change my mind if I was considering it again is the weight. As long as you have space to put it and a proper vacuum to use for more major cleaning, it would be hard to go past this one unless you want to pay a totally unreasonable price.

Overall, I'm really impressed by the performance and ease of use of this (not so) little beauty – Pros:- 1. Works well on our mix of carpet and hard floors. We have 1 dog and 2 cats and it generally handles the pet hair well. 2. I love the fact that the roller self-cleaning actually works (I thought it was a gimmick). 3. Easy to empty and easy access to filters. 4. Good suction for a battery vac. Of course, it's never going to be as powerful… Read more
as a mains powered vac. 5. Battery life is OK. I can pretty much get around the whole house on one full charge. 6. Power boost works well. 7. Battery is easily removable giving the option to charge either fitted to the vac or removed from vac. This is also great because if ever the battery needs replacing (or if you want a second one), it's dead easy. 8. Got a good deal from The Good Guys @ $274.00
Cons:- 1. It's a bit on the heavy & large side but not too bad. 2. Limited selection of attachments and no on-board storage. 3. No wall mount or wall charger.
Don't buy this product its a waste of money – I purchased this vacuum based on the good reviews it has received but it does not pick up anything on carpets or even small bits of paper on tile floors. The vacuum strength is nothing short of pathetic. UPDATE. I have subsequently purchased a Dyson which works very well , the shark is sitting in my garage gathering dust . The manufacturer didn't bother to contact me regarding the review. Now you know poor product and no manufacturer back up. Show details
Shark rocket Pro is a good product – I bought this for just a quick vacuum around the house BUT I have found it excellent. It vacuums very well on my vinyl floors and also my rugs. It is scary how much dust etc it picks up when you look in the collection chamber and how much comes out when you empty it! My only negative point, is that I find it a bit heavy for me. I will live with it!

Happy customer – Purchased the shark IZ102 vac a couple of months ago ..so far very happy with the performance ...had absolutely nothing go wrong ....nice and easy to use and good weight for me to use as I have a few issues at the moment which makes anything to heavy too push ..this appliance just has the right weight..plcks up pet hair with ease , I use every… Read more
day sometimes twice in lounge area if our lovely dog has bn inside ..the only thing I would say is where you detatch the stick from the motor does feel a tad weak and I feel this would be the area where it could break as it has a bit of movement in ..but the vac is superb ,better than some of the more expensive ones I've tried ... so thankyou Shark
Jus sayin – What a time saver.. No hair on rollers... Iwas skeptical of claim but it's true. No tripping on cord, hose or the ruddy cleaner... Very efficient and easy to use. My previous cleaner is/was a Dyson Ball. Show details
Love my shark cordless – My new shark cordless is the best. I love the versatility as I vacuum my house more often due to the fact that I don’t have to clean the vacuum head from long hair and emptying the vacuum is a breeze. By replacing the head I keep my car clean too. A bit heavy but worth it for the price.
Some problems – It sucks ok on my hard floors but is heavy and the small rollers at the front can't be freed from dust and hair. It's also very noisy. It's not the worst vacumn I've had. Show details
Absolute waste of money – My ancient Dyson 6 is 1000x better than this heavy, clunky, awkward, weak, useless piece of garbage. Bought from goodguys and can’t return after single use - I’m so angry!! GG website reviews must be fake - WHAT. A. SCAM!! Specific issues: Picks up MINIMAL pet hair off furniture (ie sofa) - constantly have to use foot to push head down onto… Read more
floor as gets stuck in upright position designed for “ease of storage”, can’t store upright as single unit bc no locking mechanism means it just slides on wheels and falls over; can’t reach corners as too bulky and rounded head edges.

Keeps not going – I took it back to Bricoes as was not going and it didn't seem to suck as well as when I first got it. I was told to wash the filter and I did it, then it went but after a few weeks stopped, I washed the filter and it went for 2 vacuums then stopped. It would not go till I took the filter off and put back on. I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be but… Read more · 1
after going back already I feel very unsure, I don't like that it keeps stopping. I think something is wrong with it, I might take it back again as stopping all the time, doesn't work for me. I kept cleaning the dust cover each time and now it has fixed itself, I do think that the provider should have exchanged it but I am happy now.
Happy so far – Great vac so far. Glides effortlessly across my plank flooring, and is FANTASTIC on carpets. The amount of fine dust it pulled from my carpeted bedrooms was astounding. Unit is a bit heavy as others say but it is something you get used to. So far i am pretty happy with it and would recommend to others. Show details
Fantastic, worth the money! – The Shark IZ102 is a fantastic product. The self-cleaning head is revolutionary. For the few extra bucks it's absolutely worth it. I can vacuum my whole house carpets and floorboards and it picks up all debris and pet hair (Short-Haired Domestic Panther Cat) with no tangles in the brushes what so ever. I also used a hand brush to test out my rug… Read more · 1
after vacuuming and there was no signs of missed hair or dirt which I couldn't believe. The battery is good and lasts around 20 mins on low and high usage. The Turbo trigger is a bonus sucking up everything so far. I vacuum daily and I recommend this vacuum. 5 stars!!!
Cons: It's a bit heavier than our old Bellini but who even cares when it performs like this. I'm going to Vacuum my house with it right now. Yippee!
Very happy as the product does what they claim – I live in a 3 bedroom unit with low pile carpet and tiled floors. I was keen to try this brand as they claimed that the vacuum head was designed to resist hair. I have 2 cats and I was a bit sceptical when I bought the product as even my Dyson head would get caught up with hair. I am very happy with the results. The vacuum battery lasted the entire unit and although the unit is a little heavy it is easy to empty and clean. Show details
Brand new and not working! – I just took it out of the box and it isn’t picking up on the carpet, literally just matting things down! Have taken it apart and put it back together, all parts are brand new and it’s fully charged. It just isn’t sucking! Show details
Great vacuum but bad after sales customer experience – The vacuum cleaner itself works fine. It cleans well on carpets, rugs and tiles, is easy to move around and charge. I've not had any problems with dust getting caught behind the motor roller as some online reviews say (and if it did it would be easy to remove). So I'm very happy with the product. The only negatives are that it can become a bit… Read more · 1
heavy in the hand with the main roller on, it does not come with very many accessories, it does not have a holder for said accessories, nor does it have a charging stand to hang on the wall. Neither of the latter two are available to purchase either.
However, when it comes to Shark as a company and the interface between Mann and Noble the Australian distributor and Shark USA it's a different story.
The user manual says to visit sharkaccessories.com for spare parts (see image). However that site only ships to USA and Canada, and does not recognise the Australian model number IZ102ANZ as a valid product. There are US products IZ14X and IZ16X models that look the same as the IZ102. Hence I asked Mann and Noble if these parts would fit my vacuum. They answered that they have no idea about the US models and referred my to their Australian site for parts. However this site only has a brush, battery, and filters to order, nothing else. I then reversed the questions to Shark USA, asking if the IZ16X or 14X model parts would fit the IZ102. They said they had no idea about the Aus models and could not say if the parts fit.
The same stupidity occurs when I want to register the product. There is a QR code on the vacuum to scan (see image). This takes me to the US site, the same as for the accessories, so of course, it does not recognise my model, and only allows US and Canadian registrations.
They are a global company. Someone must know if the models use the same connectors or not -I'm 90% sure they do - it's likely the same base product in different colour. To test I ordered some accessories from the US using a forwarder. And Mann and Noble, update the manual and QR codes to refer to the Australian site for parts and registration, instead of a site that's only for US and Canada...
Great Cordless Vacuum – After researching cordless vacuum cleaners for a while after my old Kogan bought one "died". I decided to spend a little more money & buy a Shark IZ102 with the self cleaning head. Although this vacuum is a little heavier than my past cordless vac's, I have found it not that bad once I got going & it did a fantastic job at picking up pet hair &… Read more
other bits on both carpet & floor boards. I am able to clean our 3 bedroom compact home within the time frame of the battery life without recharging, which is wonderful. I would certainly recommend this vacuum cleaner.
Love it! – This is my first cordless vacuum and I am very impressed. I own a Dyson corded and a Roomba which is great but sometimes I just want to clean quickly and this certainly does the job. Features I love are the tangle free head which actually sucks up the pet hair and not leaving it wrapped around the brushes. I also love the fact I can remove the… Read more
battery quickly and charge it without the entire vacuum. Suction is great too. It's a good weight and I love that you can switch it on and not have to hold the button. I did a lot of research and for $399 it's a great buy.
Super powerful cordless hoover! – I’m so glad I purchased this hoover! It leaves those oh so satisfying carpet lines on my carpets and it tackles my wood floors with ease! The extra attachments make getting into tight spaces so convenient. No cords makes vacuuming a quick and easy experience. The charge lasts a good 40 minutes which is plenty of time for me to do my whole house.… Read more
Also the anti hair wrap technology means that long hairs no longer get trapped in the brushes which is a real game changer for me. I would definitely recommend shark hoovers
Unbeatable for pet hair – As a German Shepherd owner, my top need from a vacuum is its ability to deal with pet hair. A lot of pet hair. As someone who dislikes housework, my second top need from a vacuum is for it to be super quick and easy to use and clean. Other factors of consideration are that I have hard floors only, and weak hands. Prior to purchasing the Shark… Read more
IZ102 cordless vacuum, I owned both a ball and a cordless stick Dyson - both animal models. The stick scratched my floorboards, and tired my hands, as you have to hold the button on the entire time you use it. The ball required plugging in, and messing around with the cord - too much effort for me. The main problem, however, was how tangled with dog hair the brush head rollers became - it took a long time after each vacuum to cut the dog’s hair out of the brush rollers.
The shark has 100% solved these issues. There is no cord to bother with. The button stays on once you turn it on, you don’t have to hold it the whole time, And the best bit - Dog hair does not tangle around the brush head.
Is it perfect? No. Do I prefer it to the Dyson? Absolutely
So what are the cons? The head is large, and does not fit under furniture. They sell an accessory that can apparently do underneath furniture, I have not purchased this as of yet, but will look into it.
It is heavier than the Dyson stick. Not enough to make me want to go back to the Dyson though.
It doesn’t have a docking station.
It has the usual limitations of a cordless vacuum in that you only get so much vacuuming time before the battery runs out. I am unable to give the whole house a thorough vacuum in one session, and the battery takes 3 hours to recharge. You can purchase a second battery though, and with a second one, I would be able to get the whole house done in one session.
Shark’s customer service is great. There was a fault with the first one I purchased. They were friendly, helpful and patient, and the vacuum was replaced with no issue.
My daughter, who must vacuum her own areas of the house LOVES the Shark. She disliked the previous vacuums, and they did a terrible job at cleaning her rugs - she was ready to get rid of the rugs because they looked ratty. The Shark does a great job on them, and they look clean and tidy again. She has decided that Shark is the vacuum she wants to get when she moves out.
