Shindaiwa 577 / 577P

OK – I bought this saw with 24" bar for the farm and am happy with it's performance while having loads of torque and good high end revs to keep work under way,, but have been let down by poor service and parts backup when this 577 was purchased there was little difference between price of similar saws stihl and huskys with same bar size and engine output. Currently i'm waiting for engine parts to arrive due to using 91 ethanol blend with a 2T castrol 2 stroke fuel mixed 40:1 as per manufactures specifications i found the saw grabbed the piston and rings and have spoken to chainsaw agents and oil company about technical aspects of using ethanol in small engines. I will not be using ethanol again in any small high revving engine simple operation, easy to start, simple robust design, value for money, and big engine output bar tension adjuster comes loose while working, continually stopping to readjust, poor parts backup and dealer network limited in qld
