Great Washing Machine (but disappointed by the repair service) – This is the best washing machine I've ever owned. I've had it for just over 6 years now and don't really remember much in the way of problems at all. Our household doesn't generate a huge workload for the machine, perhaps 4-8 loads per week. At 80+ Kg it certainly is a solid machine. The huge capacity and the super fast spin speed are great and… Read more · 2
means fewer loads and faster drying times. The range of cycle choices is really good and the 15min cycle is great to give a quick clean to my exercise clothes each day. The operation is quiet even during the 1600 rpm spin cycle. Never noticed any clothes, towels, sheets, etc getting damaged.
Unfortunately I have encountered the first real problem with the machine in early February. One day the machine just died while washing a single towel. I had to release the door with the emergency release. I reported the problem to Siemens Customer Service who scheduled a service call for 16/2 but this was later delayed to 21/2 by Siemens. The service tech determined that the power module would be the problem and then initiated an order for the part. He found that there are none available in Australia and an order has been placed to Germany. This is expected to take a couple of weeks after which a service tech must be scheduled meaning that if we are lucky then the total delay from report to repair could easily be 5 or 6 weeks. That's really disappointing for a high end brand like Siemens. We are already sick of the laundromat and now we have a few more weeks of this to go.
Like I said, we really like the machine. But the support timeliness and spare part availability is very disappointing.
Mould , Flooding Health Hazard – My washing machine is exuding the smell of mould which has now taken over the laundry and downstairs of my home. There is a build up of sludge in the front loader rubber which ends up on my clothes as I remove them. The rubber is now also covered in spots that I cannot even remove with bleach. When I run the machine empty, at high temperature, as… Read more
advised, to get rid of the build up, the machine floods my laundry floor. Very unhappy given what I paid for the machine. It remains to be seen how the manufacturer approaches this problem and whether it is covered under the 5 year warranty.
High end price medium performance – machine cleans well however during warranty door needed repair and now just one year out of warranty service team says main board and motor gone. I paid $2200 for this machine very disappointing ! Estimate is around $800 in parts alone. I can buy a new machine two year warranty for less from competitors. Seriously consider these factors when purchasing Show details
Customer service and warranty claim – Not only will they NOT honour the product they do not even acknowledge phone calls emails and dispute resolution forms this washing machine was a $1800 machine just 12 months old fault with door seal and apparently they don't warrant door seals (PATHETIC) I will never ever purchase this brand of product again in my life. They might as well not have any warranty and customer service well what's that? (BEWARE PEOPLE STAY CLEAR OF THESE ROGUES)

Excellent washer, but disappointed with after sales customer service – I have had this machine now for 6 years. I love all the program features/options, the size, the ease of use and it cleans well. I wash 3 - 4 loads a day, nearly every day, some large, some smaller loads.......it broke down twice while under warranty (thankful for the 5 year warranty), and has now broken down again. Customer service staff are very… Read more
friendly, very helpful, except that parts are not readily available in Australia, and each time I've had to go without my washing machine for 2 weeks while waiting firstly for serviceman to come and find out what's wrong with it, then for the parts to come from Europe and reschedule the serviceman to come again! There's not hope of getting anything done urgently.

Great Washer – Love the wash, the reliability and the load size options. Have a family of 8 and do 1 - 2 washes every day. Had the machine for over two years and the only problem was created by me! Clothes caught between seal and door caused seal to shred and machine to leak. Called Siemens - seals not covered by warranty and it was my fault (fully… Read more
understand that.) I was happy to pay service agent to replace seal but informed the nearest service agent to me is two x two hour flights away, requires an overnight stay etc. Was disappointed in this - if a fault were covered under warranty would people in remote areas really have the same warranty protection as those in regional centres? Ordered seal from service centre ($215) and now waiting for friend to come around and replace it. The washer is without doubt a solid workhorse and gives great results with excellent choice of wash cycles, and it's easy to use, but check on your warranty coverage (preferably in writing) if you live in a remote location. Reliable, choice of programs, great results Service / Repair support for those living in remote areas.
Excellent – So far very happy with the operation of this machine. Purchased in preference over Electrolux Ultrasilencer as after adding cost of an extended warranty to the Electrolux, the Siemens price was about $400 more. We considered the Siemens a much better engineered machine. We did a lot of research on the larger machines (8kg) and decided on better… Read more · 2
quality as our previous machine had been a total lemon and we were not willing to consider the cheaper machines. Service people were very helpful and considerate when I phoned with inquiries regarding their service and spare parts. The proof of the machine will be how well it lasts keeping up with this families large washing pile. 15 minute cycle very useful for quick wash of school uniforms needed for the next day. Load weight measurement extremely helpful in not overloading machine. Needs about 1/4 recommended detergent measurement. Size is great for large family. VERY quiet - can operate next to bedroom overnight. (Previous front loader was very loud and audible through whole house.) Gentle cycles are very gentle- wool in particular (We wear a lot of handspun handknits.) Five year manufacturers warranty was enticing. Good on water use. Nothing as yet.
Excellent – GREAT washing machine, really worth spending the extra money. Especially with the 5 year warranty, you don't tend to see warranties for that long, these days. Love love LOVE it! Washes the clothes really well, and is so quiet. Nothing bad about it.
Excellent – This washing machine is excellent - We were looking at a Bosch washing machine but then found the Siemens (made by same company of course) which included the 5 year warranty in the price, this worked out cheaper than the Bosch if we were to add the extended warranty. The Siemens has excellent capacity (for our family of 4) and excellent… Read more
flexibility in the cycles. It quiet and very efficient and so far we are extremely happy with our purchase. It’s just a fantastic washing machine Nothing bad about it
Excellent – Just am in love with it ! It is so solid & stable, hardly notice it when it spins, no movement across the floor like my old LG front loader. Real flexibility with cycles, tells you when you near maximum load capacity (can fit proper 8 kg not like old LG, could never get near supposed 6.5 kg capacity without it spewing water & foam out from… Read more
detergent dispenser). All in all I highly recommend it, even my husband can tell the difference (initially he baulked at the higher price tag). Real pleasure to do the washing now.
Nothing as yet, have had it for 4 weeks now
Design Fault and Poor Support – Got a message saying 'Pump Blocked' so followed the procedure as per the manual.Unfortunately the screw off cap would not fully open because something 'a coin' had got in and blocked the opening. After over an hour waiting on the customer service in which they blamed 'a high volume of calls' (wonder why that is?)spoke to a smarmy french guy who… Read more
knew exactly what the fault was immediately. Guess what? blockages are not covered by warranty calls. When I commented that I thought that if that was where blockages were to occur then some provision should have been made in the cover to ensure access to this compartment and thus it was a design flaw, he sneered at my suggestion and said something to the effect that if Siemens couldn't design washers they would cease production. Not what you want to hear after splashing out almost $2000 on a 'top end' machine. Quiet & Efficient Bad design in (at least) one area and a lack of empathy and after cafe/support.
learn to empty your pockets, this is the same on all washers!!
Worth the upgrade to a better machine – We have had the Siemens WM16S740AU for about a year now and actually love to wash. The 15-20 min 1200 rpm spin gets used frequently to freshen items up (5-10 min in dryer). We also may not be the best at checking pockets for dollar coins, screws and washers etc and on occasion these have gone in the wash only to be caught in the bellows. One time… Read more
blockage easily resolved.
The wash is good, many have complained about the fluffiness of their towels being ruined, no problem as the clean is brilliant, just slow down the spin and drip dry. A bot of thought and you can utilise all the functions.
We will never go back to the top loader after this and for the price it was well worth the purchase. Clean clothes, useful functions, bellows do their job relativly quiet.
Excellent – This is my all-time favourite washing machine and favourite white good. I have had Bosch washing machines for years, but when I went to buy another Bosch the saleswoman offered to upgrade me to a Siemens (made by same company of course) at no extra cost. I have no idea why she did, but I'm so glad. I enjoy washing clothes now. It has excellent… Read more · 1
capacity (for our family of 4) and excellent flexibility in the cycles. I needed a machine with flexibility particularly for washing cloth nappies and baby clothes and this has been superb. Washes clothes really well. Excellent spin, and variety of spin speeds to choose from. Great range of cycles and still you have the ability to change temperature, spin speed, rinses and all kinds of other things on each cycle. Five year warranty.

Excellent – We think the machine works wonderfully and are very happy with it. The controls are logical and very easy to use and is so quiet you can turn it on and go to bed without hearing a thing. The old machine would be doing the Mexican hat dance over the laundry floor. I would recommend the machine highly. Had the machine for around two weeks now and… Read more
have had the chance to put some bigger loads in. The washer is super quite and does a much better job than the old Fisher Paykel top loader. Also purchased the matching condensor dryer which is fantastic. Clothes come out bone dry but they seem softer than the old dryer. Didn't realise how much a difference a condensor dryer makes but WOW! No more slippery laundry floors and fogged up windows. Must be less of a fire hazard than the 17 year old Hoover. Very seriously thought about Miele as well, but just could not bring myself to spend over $6,500 on a washer and dryer, no matter how good they are supposed to be.The Siemen's induction motor, 1600 RPM, 8kg capacity and larger door opening, easier to use controls, the 5 year warranty and being around $2,500 cheaper all swayed me away fom the Miele to the Siemens machine. Not cheap, but I hope the better quality will help make it last a long time
Excellent – fantastic i've had it for 12mths and have not had a problem, love all the different cycles especially the 15minute cycle for the kids swimming gear. its extremly quiet and washes the clothes fatastically, i love the super fast spin cycle and child lock! the rubber rim seems to catch water.
Excellent – I have had this washing machine for about 8 weeks now. Has not given me a problem yet. The wash and rinse cycles are super quite. The spin dry is very good and the clothes are quite dry when they come out. Siemens has brought out a good product. Reliable and very quite Have not found any yet.
