Poor product, poor customer service – Got 30 charges out of the battery before it failed and wouldn't charge at all. Rang customer service and got put on hold indefinitely, emailed them and got no response

Highly recommend for frequent use – Reading other reviews on this product I question the choice to buy it if it is only going to be used a few times a year which seems to develop battery issues for those people. Where I work 2 were purchased over 2 years ago and there have not been any issues with either in that time. They are used regularly and generally do five fills between… Read more

charging the battery. I purchased my own 1 year ago. It has also been trouble free. It did need a pressure screw adjustment one time as the pump would not stop. My view is after my experience and looking at other reviews, is if your going to give it regular work it is a great asset. If you’re not going to learn how to adjust pressure, not rinse it after use and leave it many months between uses it is not for you and you need a pump up style pressure sprayer. With the lid on tight the sprayer can travel on its back on a Ute tray. There is rarely any leak. Lost a point for build quality as the hand piece was accidentally run over on one and unavailability of parts to repair so a whole new hand piece had to be purchased.

Never worked from new – Never worked from new. To 'fix' I was instructed to bring it to their nearest shop to determine fault. They were very uncooperative, not prepared to pay return courier or discuss any remedy (other than me being responsible for getting item to them). Item was a gift from my son.

Safety issues, breaks, and customer service is useless – The hose disconnected from the handle-spray while a was spraying and all the chemical splashed around, including on me ! I informed the customer service online and they did not mind ... They don't seem to be concerned about how bad and dangerous it could have been. They can't even provide spare parts ! Useless and disappointing. Show details

Straight out of the box, into the bin – Paid $700 for the ATV sprayer and there were that many broken parts I had to throw it straight in the bin. The sales person lied through his teeth and there are no support people to contact. These guys are professional scammers Show details

Makes spraying easy, but needs some extra TLC – Rechargable sprayers are so much better compared to the old handle pump style. BUT, this sprayer has issues with the battery charging, pressure switch on pump. Needs after market charger and periodic greasing / adjustment of pressure switch. Show details

No real problems ... I recommend this unit – Great sprayer though I have had to adjust the pump a couple of times when it failed to turn on. I suspect the reported pump failures I read here are more likely an adjustment issue and not actual pump failure. I did have to replace my battery a year or so on but that was own fault for leaving it fully discharged for too long. Show details

Definitely not recommended – This is the second time this product has failed. First time after a dozen uses the battery failed. Bought a new sprayer 1 year ago, used 4 times, tried to use it today, 1 year +1day after purchase, battery flat, won’t recharge. Did all the checks (as before), no go. DO NOT BUY.

close to perfect – Bought this Silvan sprayer after the terrible Swagman died and saved me from further distress... This sprayer would have sprayed over 5000 litres as a spot sprayer on Rat Tail grass with up to 100 trigger squeezes per minute,,, for 100 litres a day...The Silvan is so much better and virtually hassle free.. The only problems being,, the shoulder… Read more

straps are a little too far apart,, at the top,, fixed with a zippy tie... The on/ off switch is little hard to reach...Once a year I had to adjust the pressure switch,,, Sadly after 3 years it died,, regretfully replaced with a Solo 417lLi ,,,,,

This is the usual s**t from that northern dictatorship – Used the sprayer 5 times before it stopped working altogether. Not a peep out of it. Checked battery charge and fuse with mulimeter, all good. Washed it out as the instructions said after each use. Still in warranty, but do I want another one which just might make the warranty period before it fails? Show details

Not recommended – When it was new it was great! After a few uses It stoped working after about 5 litres !! I was lucky if I used it about 5 times! So,it’s not recommended by myself. My friend who is also a greenkeeper had the same problem & put in in the garbage...very disappointed ! Show details

I believe after reading recent reviews on the product, there's a fault with the battery – I purchased the sprayer from Bunnings approximately 18months ago, I use it a couple of times a month, worked great until recently, now the battery will not hold its charge ? Show details

Good product. Bad support – Purchased the back pack about 18 months ago and is used once a week. Performs to spec and is a solid unit that we never had a problem with until recently. Needed to replace the lance due to wear and tear. The spare parts road with this product is a long one. The website has nothing (until recently) for spare parts and the help on the phone from… Read more

Silvan is a joke. The special orders people at Bunnings were great, and managed to get 2 replacement lances but the tips were different. Silvan said “It’s just how they come”. Very ordinary effort Silvan. Overall it has been a great product but the support could be much better!

Do not buy – Was great at the start. Worked well, quick and easy to charge and use. However after 18 months it would not turn on or recharge at all. Completely died on me. I had only used it 4 times. To sell a product for $180 it should be reliable and last 10 years. I took it back to Bunnings berri with my receipt and they would not take it back- said… Read more

it has a 1 year warranty . So I am stuck with a plastic container that cost me 180 bucks not happy at all. Do not buy this product and make the same mistake Me.

Replaced once, second one no good either! – The first sprayers pump failed after a few uses. The replacement sprayer has a dodgy pressure sensing switch but is now out of warranty. I'm deeply regretting the $179 I spent on this sprayer. It has done very little work at all. Show details

Poor customer support – Have a Silvan packpack sprayer. It stopped working and I have been unable to get spare parts for it. It is now useless. I would not buy another Silvan product Show details

Faulty – Problems with starting. Very temperamental. When it goes it is okay but unpredictable. Wheels too small. Handle comes out not enough lead. Battery charger goes from green to red when it is charged. Obviously not made correctly. Indicator dial not accurate. Goes for just over 1and half hours and has to be charged for at least 8 hours each time. Was… Read more

out of warranty by time we got to use it. Needs bigger wheels and better handle and this would improve it. Priced okay but I would pay more if it was more reliable. I would purchase 2 good ones if I could be assured they were not so moody. We have one acre of grounds around various paths.

Expensive to run – Good and east to use. however the pump broke down after around a dozen uses or less. A new pump costs $79/- which must be replaced. the product was out of warranty hence I have to buy a new pump. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on this item.  Show details

Help – I love using this sprayer but the first one carked it after about 5 hours. Just wouldn't turn on. Checked connections, fuse, charger, all as the manual suggests, couldn't see a problem. Bunnings replaced it with a new one. Same thing has happened after 3 hours. Frustrated, I have weeds to kill!  Show details

Happy, going to buy another – My job is lawn mowing and I use sprayer with weed management. It's never leaked unlike my last pump one, had to wear a rain coat. Just about to buy a new one to have a different chemical for buffalo lawns. For larger area's it's so easy to use. Highly recommend.  Show details

Good first impressions – Recently purchased and used once, I'm happy so far. The sprayer comfortably carries it's 16L on your back, if you're used to this kind of weight. The choice of 2 nozzle types gives you a reasonable choice of spray patterns and applications. As this is the first rechargeable sprayer I've used I was curious as to how much a difference it makes to… Read more

what is one of my least favourite tasks on a 4 hectare block; quite a bit. It's much faster to use and empty a tank. So much less stress on the body.

The only practical issue I have with it so far is that it's harder to use for spot spraying: the trigger is less sensitive or maybe harder to control than a pump action knapsack in that more spray gets released and covers a greater area than I'd sometimes like.

Another issue I have is that the suction filter construction is different in the manual to the current model: they've replaced brass with plastic and altered the assemblage. You have to work it out for yourself.

And it's early days.

Perfect – We must have had about 20 cheap and not so cheap pressure sprayers and they had one thing in common, they were all disappointing. We are both getting on and the pumping and leaking of sprayers drove us batty. So bit the bullet and bought this rechargeable sprayer yesterday and used it today. Not much to its assembly but followed instructions… Read more

and it worked perfectly. We have a large corner block and the road side boundary is mulched and it is covered in weeds. Sprayed it in under an hour, cleaned up and not much energy and NO emotional torment was expended.

As I said it is cleaned up and the proof will be in the next round of spraying in Spring. Will get back to you!

Very good backpack sprayer – Was looking for rechargeable backpack sprayer for spraying my fruit trees. Bought this sprayer from Bunnings for $179, which was twice the price of some models available on eBay, but it had the following important advantages: * Li-ion battery, which should be longer lasting than lead-acid batteries used in cheaper models * Comfortable padded… Read more

straps and back rest

* Sufficient spray pressure to cover 3m high fruit trees without difficulty

* Australian-made so easier to get warranty work

I have now used it a few times and it performs very well. There are no leaks anywhere, unlike the cheaper models for which there were complaints from users. So very happy with this sprayer so far. To ensure it remains trouble-free, I wash it out with water after each use.
