My 36s550m washing machine banging and making noise when spinning to drain water. Please help. Khan
Khan, This question is beyond my skill grade I am sorry. Needless to say presuming that your washing load is evenly distributed in the bowl, something seems wrong with your machine's spin balance system which critical to smooth operation. I suggest you should consult an expert repair person. But first it is worth confirming washing has not gathered on on one side of the bowl during the wash cycle (forgive me stating the obvious). Regards Easy.t
Hi I have a simpson esprit 550 and it doesn't take long to wash clothes. I mean it does not spin long enough to wash the clothes. A normal wash would take less than 5 mins to complete. Is this normal?
Hi Bads, I am not an expert. Just an owner like yourself but the duration of the cycle you are getting sounds way less than my machine takes on the settings I generally use. On the right side of the control panel you can switch to either "Extra dirty", "Regular" or "Light and Fast". On the left hand rotary selector there are 9 choices of wash cycle available. I guess that they each provide a different wash and spin duration . I usually select "Normal" on the left selector and "Regular" on the right hand "Wash Choice" selector. All that I can practically suggest is try those settings and see how long the wash cycle takes. (with say half a bowl of water selected as well). With that level of water and those settings my machine takes 20-25 minutes as a rough guide. If it doesn't take about that long something may be wrong in which case you will need to ask an expert washing machine repair person. Sorry that I cannot help more than that.
Regards.
No. Something very wrong there. Incidently, we've said goodbye to this model a while ago. Upgraded to a 7.5kg Simpson with all the bells and whistles. Ironically, paid almost the same price as for the old one all those years ago. Washing performance is so, so superior to the old girl!
I have a Simpson Esprit 550 and it has been working fine except I just moved from interstate with professional movers and now I have it set up, plugged in at new location I select the wash mode it just doesn't do anything - no power at all. Yes there is power to the powerpoint. Is there a reset button somewhere I need to find somewhere? Any suggestions other than get a repairman.
Dear Elizabeth, Thanks for your question. I am sorry that I cannot offer any advice as to what the problem might be or how to fix it. With that said just yesterday I had to get the local repair service to come and look at our Simpson because the water level control was not working. He had it fixed in very quick time. (the defect was due to 10 years of chaffing of the vacuum line that controls the level switch). I will call into his shop tomorrow and ask him if he has an answer to your problem. I will get back to you hopefully through this portal.
Regards.
Dear Elizabeth, The expert said that sometimes and particularly when these machines get moved about the "out of balance paddle" can be shifted and temporarily jammed in the "off" position. The paddle is behind the bowl on the right hand side and inside of the machine (as you look at it from the front) You will probably need to bend slightly to see the white paddle in the right hand corner of the interior. With power and water definitely turned off, reach the paddle with your hand and gently ensure it is hanging vertically. Alternate method is to take hold on top of the bowl and wobble the bowl to simulate an out of balance load. During this manoeuvre the bowl should touch the paddle and nudge it back to its proper position. No Guarantees but it sounds as if it is worth a go.

Thank you so much for your advice, I will give that a go and let you know. Very helpful feedback. Elizabeth

I have been given a Simpson Esprit 550 washing machine, model number on back of machine is 36S550 [no 'K' "m" 'L' or "J" after it
I need an operating manual, can you help please?
thank you Beverley
No idea Bev! My 550 hit the kerbside last weekend~ updated to a 750.
I would Google it; you may be lucky!
Thank you for your answer cleobasset1, How long did your 550 machine last? This has not been used for a couple of years, I might be dicing with trouble and maybe should just get a new one straight up. My old Simpson '275' only lasted 27 years with only one new motor in it :>) should not complain eh! But from what I read about this 550 they dont even last 10 years.
I did google it for a manual but was required to sign into a 3rd party site which frightened me with the scams that are running around at the moment, My brother recently lost his whole computer to a scam. I might have to resort to it afterall, but when I did that recently for another manual the new program took over my computer and changed most of my internet settings, so I had to uninstall it promptly. I was hoping Simpson/Email [the current owner of Simpson products] might have answered. I might just have to take pot luck and just use it how I figure it should be used. It is probably pretty straight forward if I look at it carefully.
Thanks again Bev
Hi Bev If you email me at tigerdog1@aapt.net.au I will send you a copy of mine. God luck with yours. Mine lasted 2 years and still work but have to run it fully loaded. if not it tries to self destruct. Regards Allen
Thanks Allen, I have emailed my address to you, Regards Bev
The machine will not pump out water, just hums and produces a dribble on all cycles. On the drain & spin cycle it does the same, but will proceed to spin after a long while. Do you have a panel of recommended repairers in Sydney south-eastern suburbs? I am reluctant to take one from the local paper or wherever, as I am very nervous about their abilities and fees.
Hi, I am in Queensland. My problem is the spin cycle. Only way it will work is to fully load it. I would take the back off and see if a belt has fallen off or broken. Regards!
Allen
I have a Simpson ESPRIT 600 (6.0 kg) Heavy Duty Washing Machine. I have not had a problem with the machine for 15 years. However it now continues to fill with water (to overflow) no matter where I set the water level gauge. Do I need to purchase a new water level gauge to fix this problem. If so where would I purchase same. I live on the Gold Coast. I have owned and used Simpson Washing Machines for fifty years and this is the first problem I have ever had.

I have had the Esprit 36S550k for quite some time but now I'm having trouble with clothes coming out really creased even on a delicates cycle. These work shirts are meant to be wrinkle free but my machine is doing otherwise. I certainly don't overload the machine but annoyed that they are coming out looking like I have slept in them. Not happy! I have followed the manufacturer's label etc but nothing has helped! Any suggestions????

Hi there. Could you please tell me how old the 36s550 serial no 42471420 is. I bought one in 2005. I loved it but it is not so good now and have been offered this one above for $200. I was told that it is 12 months old. I think that may be the wrong age and I am better to buy new
Thanks
Wouldnt touch a Simpson ever again
Hi. I am wondering if anyone knows how much water the Espirit 600 (6kg) uses? I have owned this machine for the past 15 years and, aside from a few minor issues, it's been a very reliable machine.
