Perfect Family Washing Machine
The quick 20 minute cycle is a fantastic feature especially if you want to freshen up clothing. The auto water level saves time and money adjusting to only what is required. Daily wash 45 minute cycle is my go to selection.

E50 motor error
E50 motor error, 13 months old, mild use, purchased from The Good Guys. Waiting 3 weeks for the tech who waits for parts and motivation. Very very disappointed, for the price. Will not buy again. Simpson / Electrolux offer me a number to discuss, which is missing a digit; then asks me to EMail. 2nd rate build, 3rd rate service, 4th rate motivation. No care, no responsibility. We will be boycotting Simpson / Electrolux for the remainder of our electrical lives. We lost a Grand in good faith; save yours-

Horrible! Motor gone within 2 years!
I've always stood by Simpson as a brand, not anymore! Horrible machine since the moment we purchased it. Loud, takes forever to fill up the drum and then starts leaking water, so repair done to the machine within the 1st year of purchase. Starts leaking water again, not even into the 2nd year of purchase! 3 months past 2 year warranty E50 message pops up! Motor has gone and smells like burning mechanicals. So disappointed in this machine, $719 for this washer for it to not even last 2 years of use. Ridiculous. Never buying Electrolux products again.

I should have done my research
I just bought my machine, first load and already not user friendly. I can't open the lid to add any items. It won't let me set the water level. It makes a "hissing" noise while washing. It takes so much longer to finish the wash. It won't let me set the water temperature. I always had a Simpson and the older models were so much better.
So disappointed with Simpson and Electrolux. I don't want the machine to tell me what to do. That is my job.

My most hated appliance in my home
I bought this machine on the advice of the salesperson and to be fair I have not had a single mechanical issue with it HOWEVER it is the least user friendly machine I have ever used. 1) For me, the child lock system in a huge issue. I can not disengage it and in a household of DINKS its a pointless feature. It's very slow to respond when you want to add another item to the load. 2) The water takes so long to actually get into the machine that I end up using a bucket and the laundry sink tap to hurry it along. If you pre spray a stai...n, the spray dries before the water reaches the item. 3). There is no way to tell what part of the cycle the machine is up to- so if you want to add a hand washed item near the end to just go through the spin portion, then you would have no idea when that moment is. 4) The fabric conditioner dispenser has never worked from day 1. All the softened is still in the dispenser at the end of any cycle - and because you don't know which part of the cycle the machine is on, you can not judge a time to add in manually. 5) I clean the little lint collection bag after each wash but its very difficult to remove the built up grime in the white plastic agitator without resorting to a long handles bottle washer. The SWT043 has a dozen little idiosyncrasies that are such a daily frustration that sometimes I wish it would just break so I could justify buying another brand.
Lemon of a washing machine
We bought this washing machine in May 2018 because we have had Simpson before and they were reliable. This one is just a nightmare. It sounds like someone is playing the drums in there when its on, we made a warranty claim in April 2020 and the service man said it was faulty from manufacture. He replaced 90% of the inner workings of the machine. Now its making the same noise only this time when we called about the warranty, it doesn't cover the replaced parts.

DO NOT BUY
Where do I start - I don’t actually think it ever washed clothes that well to begin with butttt. Faults !!! Omg. Just before it turned 2 the good problems started . E10 no water and also thinks the lid is locked . It’s getting water it’s got all it needs it just is a lemon of a machine . Service agent came out and couldn’t find anything wrong - surprise surprise . I’m now down to 1 setting on warm water as it’s the only way it will work. And if you use more then 3 times in a day it goes on strike for hard labor . Service agent is coming out again - which I don’t see the point because clearly the machine is a lemon I want my money back so I can go elsewhere !!! Do your self a favor and don’t buy!!!

$1000 for a pile of crap. 16 months old Every error under the sun, taken back to the supplier and they can't find anything. It is like a great wall version of the washing machine world.

Have had this machine for just over 3 years. Just after the warranty was up it started leaking. Now the past few weeks I have noticed that the cycle I use is taking longer than it said on the digital timer window on the machine. Today the cycle should have taken 1 hour and 13 minutes, so I put on my stopwatch, on my phone, to check and the cycle actually took 2 hours and 19 minutes. As there is only the two of us I only do two washes a week, not a heavy wash just day to day regular clothes. If I had used it more than that I am convinced it woul...d have played up long before this. I am very disappointed with this machine, we had our previous Simpson top loader washing machine for over 10 years, without any problems at all. That's the main reason I went for this make. If I end up having to replace it I would not pick a Simpson again. Edited to add: I tried a 45 minute cycle on 15/2 and that also took over 2 hours!

Simpson washer swt8043
I’ve owned this washer for just under 2 year and for the last month I am constantly getting black oil/dirt on my washer.
It doesn’t clean our clothes. Worse washer I’ve ever owned.
My last. Simpson lasted 20 years, that’s why I ended up buying another. But I would never recommend this one

Only Just got it But....
Bought this machine because ...Its only 1 of 2 you can buy now (aside from speed queen) that have agitator in the bowl.
I don't like the ones with no agitator as they tangle your clothes too much and pull threads on your towels
After setting it up The first thing I noticed is that once you select a cycle the DAMM Lid locks and will not open unless you turn off the power at the wall.. It has NO Power button the machine itself.
So...if you want to add something to the wash just after starting ...Forget it. Locked Lid. Surely this is a sa...

Built in obsolescence
We bought this 2 years ago, we were initially very happy with it, it ran well, was quiet and the timer function saved us time by loading it the night before and hanging out the first load in the morning.
After 18 months it started leaking, we investigated and found the hose between the soap box and inlet was rubbing and now leaking water.
I was replaced under warranty but now just out of warranty the hose is leaking again, very common fault, pretty obvious by it's placement that this would happen.
The new hose is about $64 but it's an absolute ...

Made to only last past the Warranty Period
Good while it worked but of course as with all Electrolux washers it only lasts to just after the manufacturers warranty and then dies.
This is the 4th Simpson 10kg washer we have had and rarely do they last more than 2 years. This one started to leak a few months ago and then would not wash small loads before coming severely unbalanced in spin. Finally the drain pump stopped working and that was it. Luckily I always pay for extended warranty and we ended up with a store credit in lieu of getting another piece of junk as a replacement. Avoid a...t all costs if you are a large family who need to wash a few loads a day. Purchased in May 2018 at Domayne NSW, West Gosford for $1,100.00. Further Update The Electrolux 6.5kg dryer we bought at exactly same time has also just expired a few months after warranty period - here they are both sadly waiting to be dumped. Luckinly we had store credit from the extended warranty to pay for new dryer but we are stillout of pocket $1400 for new washer we had to buy (LG 14kg top loader). Have now gone with Fisher and Paykal Dryer - fingers crossed they last longer.

Mega problems with this machine after 1 year...don't purchase...many error messages on screen from E10 to E80 and lid locking with clothes in it! Service to home slow and unhelpful, waited 5 days for replacement baud. Electronic bauds replaced twice but had to pay for call out fee and now another similar issue. NOT HAPPY and won't purchase ever again.

Most frustrating washing machine
Had previous imprison machine and was great lasted nearly 20 years. This one always keeps shaking itself and comes up with an imbalance error on it. I would not recommend
