Singer 15 Cup Rice Cooker SIRC15C

Worst rice cooker I have ever purchased – I bought this rice cooker for one year and three months and now it is dead. It has been used for general house cooking. Just over its one year warrenty it is gone! Very disappointing. I have never had a rice cooker which has a quality as low as Singer's rice cooker. DO NOT BUY. Wasting your money
Healthy because it is stainless steel but might be too big for daily cooking – We bought this because we wanted to move away from rice cookers which have pots with nonstick coating. Found it for half price at a store so good deal there. It does stick rice to the pot. Perhaps because I cook only a little amount of rice at a time? It's not that hard to clean it, but first, you need to put some water in and leave it for a quarter to half an hour for the stuck rice to loosen up.
I only have one gripe about it. We usually cook only 2-3 cups of rice. Instead of just steam, water shoots through the steam venting hole in the lid. I have to clean the kitchen bench top almost every time after I cook rice. I have never experienced this before with a rice cooker, but we've never owned such a rice cooker that's this large. Perhaps it is not meant for cooking a small amount of rice? The steam venting hole is quite large as well.
I would not buy this model again. I would buy a smaller one instead, hoping it would not shoot water out when cooking.
Finally a Rice Cooker with a inner Stainless Steel Pot – If your health is your number one priority then you will be pleased (as I was) to come cross this latest rice cooker from Singer. What sets it apart from all the rest is its stainless steel inner pot that has NO non-stick coating. I have done a lot of research in this area and have discovered that there is no safe non-stick coating for food appliances. Even the latest ceramic coatings using nanotechnology are a major concern.
This rice cooker looks smart and with its smooth shiny stainless steel inner pot it does a fantastic job of cooking beautiful fluffy rice without sticking.
I am also looking for a Contact Grill/Sandwich Press without a non-stick coating but no luck as yet. If anyone knows of one without the coating let me know!
A bit of a late update but I managed to get my singer rice cooker working again. It has been around three years now and it's been working fine ever since. Problem was minor with the switch and easily fixed.

Here's an update on my review. Well its been just under 2½ years and my Singer rice cooker has died. The switch no longer works and the cooker stays on "warm" and no longer cooks.Very disappointed as it was only used once a week or so. Looking at the Buffalo rice cooker now. It's more expensive than the Singer but hopefully more reliable.
