Lovely Stylish cooker, the oven looks beautiful, cooktop works a treat.....
BUT.....It would be better if the clock worked!!
I have noted here that some reviews have a problem with the clock not working at the time of installation of brand new SMEG freestanding cookers.
We have had this identical problem this week. Our installer had another similar issue recently.
Is this not an issue that SMEG should be checking before they leave the factory if this is a know fault?
Where is the quality control with these expensive cookers that most have to wa...

I’ve had my new smeg freestanding oven for 13 months during a kitchen reno. I was very happy with it until the glass in the middle section of the door exploded just after I had closed the door to take out the food I was grilling. I followed the instruction manual as I hadn’t grilled before and did everything correctly. I am so lucky that the glass didn’t explode in my face as I mentioned I had just taken a tray out of the oven.
I contacted smeg head office and was referred to Melbourne based company who obviously do the repairs / replacements...

Oh also it is the Matt black model not the stainless.
Got oven delivered , had electrician here to wire up, contacted retailer to be assured it was to be hard wired. Oven arrived no it has a plug. Get electrician back to connect. All excited turn on the power no clock, turn on and off again no clock great , can’t use without clock what a stupid design. Had power checked at oven all good. Contacted retailers now the wait to be fixed. Not happy.

I have been so use to my old Westinghouse 6 burner cooktop. When the old when had to be replaced I wanted the 12mj burner in centre at the front. Not much choice on the market until I found this one. And I find it more efficient to use and easy to clean.

3 things that could be considered minor, but when you add them up, it’s just not good enough...
1. Upon installation, the oven didn’t work because the clock didn’t. Sorted quickly, clock replaced. All good. Annoying but oh well, these things happen
2. Shiny silver ring has what looks like rust or water stains. Definitely can’t be removed, despite trying all things suggested by the lovely man I spoke to on the phone. Again, annoying, and I really would like it replaced, but haven’t pushed for it. Yet.
3. And this is the deal breaker: I bought t...
Thank you Product Review. You got them moving on this. 5 year warranty finally sorted. Now...about that shiny ring...
I recently contacted Smeg to advise that the door of our 18 month old oven was no longer closing properly. I also sent photos to show the problem. I received a response from Steve Cullen (National Service and Spare Parts Manager) within the hour and a follow up call from Smeg the next day to book in a technician visit. The technician Lloyd, arrived on time and replaced the hinges promptly as well as ordering a new seal which was split. I was initially reluctant to advise of the problem as I wasn't confident of a positive outcome but I am glad I did! Excellent customer service from Steve and professional and friendly service from Lloyd the technician. Highly recommended and very happy!

Purchased FS9608xs in June 2017 only to have the door hinges replaced twice so far. Door is made up of 3 pieces of glass. The middle glass is free floating with rubber bumpers and if you knock the door during cooking, this glass shifts popping the inner retaining glass out and then the door does not close. You have to wait for the oven to cool before fixing and all baking goes to the bin.
Really shocking design and I am not happy.

Is this oven self cleaning I have this model and a cleaning product said don’t use on self cleaning ovens
Dear Marija P.,
Your model is not a self-cleaning one, so it is safe to use the cleaning product in it. We would recommend though to run a vapour clean cycle after you have cleaned it to remove any cleaning residues.

I am considering buying a Smeg dual freestanding oven (not necessarily this model) but live in country NSW (2732) on the Victorian border and would like to know where I can access servicing?
We’ve wired in our new oven, the electrician has checked the power is going to the appliance yet it’s not working and the front panel has no lights on.
