Very disappointed with the error code that just wont go away also the centre element is not working – I was very happy with the stove when we purchased it and it does indeed work well controlling and heating food quickly. We have had a few issues with the clock and timer from the get go but this was easily sorted by switching off the power. just to look at it. Outrageous considering fault codes are supposed to help you diagnose the issue.
Don't buy – What they don't tell you upon purchase of this oven is that it has a 35 amp draw and you have to have a limiter placed on the power supply or your house power goes down. Had ours about 2 1/2 years and now one of the front elements is not working, judging from other comments looks like it may cost about the same as a new oven. Poor product, expensive parts, poor follow up service – Bought a free standing smeg induction stove model CE9IMXA from Harvey Norman, stove was purchased 16.6.2010 but was not used until 2011. dollars for the stove but declined on taking out an extended warranty as we felt anything that cost that much would be reliable, unfortunately we were very wrong. Buttons on the side for the clock and timer never worked properly from the start we were to find out this was a loose wire and have had that repaired. Hot plates for some time have had lights on the top plates flicking on and off eventually the hot plates stopped working and an error code came up, this was on the 5.2.2017. We contacted the service group and they looked at it on the15.2.2017. Between travel costs service fee and labour we were out of pocket approx 150.00 and none the wiser, it was assumed that the boards controlling the induction top were no good. Service group spoke to smeg and it was suggested that they could send all the boards to them and by trying them they could determine which one would be needed. Several times I have rung the service group but they have had no reply from smeg. Today smeg rang and said it was an old appliance and it will cost approx 4000.00 for boards and labor costs extra. Poor Service - Oven Only 6 months old and Not Heating - Poor Sub-Contractor Service – Poor contractor service available, SMEG contract out work in South Australia to a Sub-Contractor. Fault on the 10th Nov and the earliest appointment available was 25th Nov, 15 days with no oven. long but they refused to attend and rebooked the appointment for the 01/12. Furious with SMEG, poor Customer Service for such an expensive product. Will be over 20 days to have the oven even looked at!!!!!!!!
Also, we have a new SMEG dishwasher as well, this is also a piece of rubbish.
Sheer cooking joy – I have now had my oven for ten months and it hasn't missed a beat. The induction stovetop is lightning fast and sssso easy to clean. The oven is so large, Christmas lunch is easy and it has so many various functions to suit various cooking needs. I've had regular electric ovens and cooktops and gas ovens and cooktops but this beauty wins hands down. Phase 3 power supply is required. Very, very happy customer.
Brilliant cook top, oven has occasional power issue – Fantastic unit as a whole. just a pity that if oven does not get used every day, the oven turns off and main power switch needs to be turned of and then back on to 'reboot' it. have to reset clock everytime. Cooking is brilliant though, best oven to cook with and cook top is brilliant. Brilliant unit When we get issues sorted out hope will not give us more troubles
