Hi, We have a problem with our Smeg Black series dishwasher. It seems after a cycle on the weekend the pump continued to run after the cycle was finished. When i pour water in the bottom of the machine it removes the water no problems but wont turn off. We have turned it of at the power switch and the pump obviously stops but when the power is turned back on the pump restarts without any intervention from us.
Please help. Tom R
Hi Tom R, Thank you for your enquiry. You will need to call our service team on 02 8667 4888 and arrange a technician to service your machine. It appears that the anti-flood system has tripped. Regards Smeg
We have a smeg which has given us a few issues. First issue was a faulty in line heater which was cracked and letting water into the bottom and causing a fault, Machine was just out of warranty so a $500 dollar bill for a faulty heater. Now the power will not turn on ! If I call the repair man I may have well purchased a new dishwasher. I have checked the switches with multi meter but don't feel I have the skill to go further without advice.
Dear Ian, Sorry to hear about the issue with your dishwasher. Could you please email service@smeg.com.au with your name, address and contact number along with any service invoices. Please mark the email to the attention of Lesley. Once she has this information, she will be in direct contact with you to discuss. Regards Smeg
I'd like to thank Smeg for the repair out of warranty for the latest issue. Turned out to be a circuit board failure now replaced . I am hoping to also recover the cost of the in line heater which had a manufacturing fault, hair line crack . Of interest to me was the repair company giving good praise to Smeg on their customer support. My repairer are going to send Smeg the invoices for the previous failure, and I will report back on how this turns out.
Power on, nothing works. Any ideas?

We have one of these dishwashers and it is constantly playing up and often stops in the middle of a cycle only to the turning off and turning back on and sometimes that doesn’t work . If you open the door midcycle here in real trouble because you can’t get it to restart . It only washes on the hottest cycle possible and doesn’t wash in the top drawer convincingly . I recommend that you do not buy Smeg as it is a piece of junk !!!

Hi I have a Smeg DF6FABP When the machine is turned on there is pulsing noise but no water comes into the machine. We have checked all the filters and can find no blockages, any ideas? Many thanks
Hi Smeg,
I have a DWAFI149 dishwasher which shut down altogether, no lights to indicate fault.
I had a Smeg service man come out and said it was a mother board and will cost $840.00 parts and labour to fix it.
Apparently from what he was saying and looking on the internet it is a common problem with this machine.
So after paying a very high price to get a good quallity appliance which should last 10 years I am looking to replace it after 5 years of light duty. I am not happy because my Smeg fridge freezer went the same way after 5 years of use.
I think consumer affairs should know about this machine and this common expensive fault.
Your assistance in this matter would help.
Regards Peter

I have this dishwasher and it has stopped draining. I have drained the water from the dishwasher a number of times by disconnecting the hose and emptying into a bucket. i have then restarted the dishwasher on the shortest cycle and after running for 10 minutes the cycle stops and the water is left in the bottom of the dishwasher again. Hoses have been checked and the water outlet has been checked for blockages. Does anyone have any clues as to why the dishwasher stops mid cycle and doesn't drain?
Hi Liv A it could be a blockage in the drain pump, please call Smeg service on 02 8667 4833 to arrange for a technician to look at your dishwasher.
Regards Smeg tech support.
Hi Liv A .
Had a similar problem with Smeg dishwasher. Serviceman came out a few times and it was only fixed when he finally installed a new printed circuit board.
Works OK now .
Has anyone self solved the problem where the dishwasher will not drain? I'm not keen to spend another 500 dollars on this appliance. Really disappointed with the lack of longevity.
Post the question on their Facebook page and see if they respond
Hi Cal dishwashers not draining are usually blockages either in the drain pump or the connection of the drain hose to the S-trap, you can remove the hose from the S-trap and check for blockages and try to drain the dishwasher into a bucket, if the blockage is in the pump you will need a technician to clear it please call Smeg service on 02 8667 4833.
Regards chris
