VerifiedMPN: DWAU6315XHi my smeg dwau6315x is leaking from both sides of the door. Is this just the seal or another issue? any thoughts are appreciated
Hi, My Smeg dishwasher DWA6314X2 constantly keeps heating after a cycle is finished whenever the door is closed. Has anyone had this issue? Today it won't turn on. Tried turning it off and on from the power point, still nothing, however will start heating when the door is closed still.

I have a Smeg DWAU6315X dishwasher and the door mechanism has stopped working on my appliance as well. There is nothing obstructing the door and it has worked perfectly well until now. Seems to be a common problem with this model at the 3 year mark (and earlier, it seems), based on the many reviews in this thread. Is there a way of troubleshooting this at home, or do I need to get someone in to take a look?
Same. First it was the top spray arm, twice, now the locking mechanism. All in under 3 years. These days nothing is made to last past 3 year mark, it seems.

Ok I think I found the issue- the energy saving feature that opens the door to dry it relies on the pretension sitting on the door latch mechanism which is recessed in top surface of the door. On the latch mechanism is a small dial to adjust the pretension (it's in the manual). After 3 years the tension had dropped off, so the door closes, but not enough to put pressure on the sensor. The 3 bars indicate "door open". Tighten it up quarter of a turn or so with a flat head screw driver, and it's fixed! Or if its lost all tension, replace the spring, or as a short term fix use a g-clamp to apply a tiny bit of pressure to hold the door against the sensor until the spring is replaced :-)
DEA6314x2 spray arm under top basket keeps falling off. It is like there is something missing to hold it onto grey panel at back of dishwasher. Purchased July 2021
Suggest you contact customer service and they will most likely post you a new one. Dishwasher not so good, but the service team are without fault - amazing even.
How do I set the dishwasher to the hottest cycle to give it a deep clean
Hi R.G. Cheesman, Thanks for your enquiry. Please use the Ultraclean 70 degree program. That will give you the hottest cycle. Regards Smeg
Hi , my smeg dishwasher DWA6315X1 is leaking from the door seal that has been replaced by a not so handy handy man. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Hi, I bought my house 3 years ago and it came with Smeg appliances. In the last year, the green spray arm of the dishwasher started falling off at every wash. It falls off and gets stuck on the bottom and stops the lower spray arm to turn which causes the dishes and cutlery come out dirty. Since the machine is pretty young, I am quite disappointed dealing with an issue quite early and I cannot determine which part I should replace to stop this happening. The model of the machine is DWAU6214X. Can you tell me what should I do?
Where are you located? I’d contact smeg to see if it’s still under warranty. Just tell them the serial number and they will tell you. I wasn’t having them come out and charge me over $250 + (wasn’t under warranty) so I took the liberty of researching and sourced the part that I needed and replaced it myself. (Door clamp/handle mechanism broke) Hope this helps
Thank you so much for your response, It's not under the warranty and I think I'll follow your lead if I can't get a response from Smeg, thank you so much Urs. Cheers Tuba

Done, thank you.
Hi. My tab button on my DWAU6315X2 won’t turn off to allow rinse aid. I believe I just click on this button and it goes off. How do I turn off this function? Thank you.
If you mean the smart tab button... I just press mine and it toggles on and off.

Hi The door on our DWAU6315X dishwasher often doesn't close. It seems that closing mechanism pin on top of the dishwater body gets triggered off and goes into the socket if it gets touched lightly by the door latch. Its almost like a mouse trap spring. If I close the door hard, the latch with catch the pin and close. The pin has to be pulled out of the socket to be reset again for it to work. Basically the pin is way too sensitive. This Smeg has only given us problems since we purchased new a couple of years back. Is this a common problem or a design fault?
Hi there - we had a similar problem shortly after we started using it. We contacted the service team and they very quickly sent someone out to replace the latch - we haven't had that issue since. It was so perfectly done it was as though it was a commonly reported fault of the machine. However - due credit to them, as crap as the experience was, they were incredibly quick and efficient about the whole replacement thing.

Hi we have a semi integrated DWAU6315X (3-4 mths old) and have had a few troubles with it, 1 being if we change the program it keeps stopping so will only allow us to use 1 of the program, however at the moment when we shut the door we can turn the machine on however none of the program lights or start/pause light are coming on, only the on/off button light, and as such it wont run. The latch seems to be ok, but can't figure out anything else we can do. Thanks Tony

Good day. I use my dishwasher maybe once a month or every second month. It is new and still under warranty. On my screen display red spray light comes on when switching it on. Is this normal use it so little that I am not sure. Can’t find my manual. Would be supper if manual could be email to me. Not sure how it will show me when salt is needed. ( concord2@worldonline.co.za ) dwau6315x2 looks like the model I have
We have a SMEG DWA 157X and it has stopped working with water still in the bottom. There are no lights on the dial and I have checked that the power supply is ok. I have also checked the drain at the bottom of the washer. Any ideas? Thanks KB

Why doesn’t my SMEG DWA6315x1 dry the dishes. It’s so annoying!
I don't have an issue with mine. I usually run it overnight and when the cycle finishes the door opens and everything is dry by morning. If I am in a hurry I turn that function off and use the alternative drying cycle. Good quality rinse aid helps.

Hi i have had this model dishwasher for nearly 3 years. The door spring seem to have broken and free falls down to horizontal. Is this a common fault for dishwasher age and can this be easily fixed?
Thanks. Mine was less that 12 months old. Don't think I will ever buy a smeg again.

you need to level dishwasher so the door lines up with the body by using the legs by unscrewing up and until you have squared the washer up and the lights will go to normal .push power switch and then select cycle hold start/pause button.
Turns out if was a fault with the closing mechanism. The latch had broken. SMEG technician came and fixed.
Hi,
I have a DWAU6315X that seems to need a reset. All dashboard lights are on and remain on, including the 'lock key' and the 1h timer - all buttons are unresponsive. It doesn't commence a wash. I have left the unit disconnected (plug out) for an extended period and upon reconnection I am faced with the same lights. Can you please provide direction on this (+ the reset procedure)?
Thanks Liam
The lock on the door maybe broken and needs to be replaced... I had the same problem... on mine the was a red light on the quick set button (reducing the time of the wash)... if so this is what happened to me... service man replaced the lock and it was all good again.. I have had this dishwasher for a few months now and I have had two problems already... under warranty and they acted quickly but a bit of a pain on a new product that is supposed to be great. Hope this helps.... your reset procedure is correct as far as I can see but I don't think it is the reset.
Dear Liam, I am the National l Service Manager for Smeg and I would like to assist with this problem, could you please email me direct at steve.cullen@smeg.com.au with your address, contact details and also if you can scan me a photograph of the rating plate from the right hand side of the dishwasher door. My 4 month old machine of above model number has stopped working. Following it's last cycle, it shows --- on the display but won't take any input from the program buttons, just stays at --- Then it switches itself off automatically after a few minutes, so I guess the timer circuit is still working, but just not taking any inputs from the cycle buttons. Is there some way I can reset the processor? Thanks Dr Chris Kear.
Dear Dr Chris, Could you please call our technical support desk on 02 8667 4833 and they will be able to assist you with your enquiry. Regards Smeg
Hi, did you resolve this Dr Chris?? I got the same thing today? Is it an easy fix?
It was the door sensor. When the latch closes, it's supposed to operate a switch under the top cover of the washer. It's very badly designed, and comes loose. Ring the support line, and they'll send an engineer out to help you.
