Had this kettle less than 2 year and now water is leaking from the boil/on switch? – Had to bin it as this can’t be safe! Such a shame as it wasn’t cheap at all and it looked really nice on the side! Should be much better quality for the price though. The one we had before this was I think £8 from Argos and lasted for about 9 years. Show details

Letters fell off less than 6 months after delivery – I bought the Smeg toaster and kettle in April and it took 2 months to finally get to my house only for the letters to fall off 6 months later. I would expect much higher quality and durability for an appliance this expensive. Very disappointed Show details

has caused two major power outages for our house. I’ve had $40 kettles last much longer than our current Smeg one. Buyer beware, you certainly do not get what you pay for!

Perfect Kettle until it leaks! – I love my Smeg Keetle. It is beautiful in nearly every way. The Kettle leaks from the water gauge which is not safe. It leaks and unable to be filed above the water gauge area. Disappointed as it was a higher cost than most kettles. Show details

Love it – Got my smeg kettle for my kitchen tea and absolutely love the look of it. Ive had it for 3 years now and the stainless steel is very hard to clean. I would recommend a coloured one. Show details

Power button is broken – Very disappointed in the smeg products. Bought a 4 slice toasted and kettle on November 25, 2017. make it boil. Honestly, for what the products cost, you should be able to get at least 5 years worth just like lower end small appliances. I will definitely not be buying any more of their products and will not be endorsing it to family and friends neither. Total rip off!

edging of button peeling off – My Smeg kettle is about a year and a half old. Over the weekend i noticed that the edging on the lid of my kettle thats around the open button has started peeling. Surely this shouldnt happen, and even if it were possible after a year and half. I love my kettle but it costs too much money to be doing this already. Regards Nawaal Show details

Love the kettle although discoloured – We purchased our stainless steel kettle and toaster from David Jones and absolutely love the product. The temperature feature is fantastic and handy although I’m saddened that our kettle has discoloured, has a golden tinge to it. Disappointed that the kettle is no longer stainless steel. The silent quick wonder! – The kettle is easy to fill and lovely to use. The water boils quietly and quickly—surprisingly quicker than my old kettle. I am also pleased with the stainless steel. It has a bright pleasant shine and is easy to clean. I can recommend it as effective and efficient—as well as looking good. kettle through the spout, but now, after eighteen months, the on off switch will not stay on! I have a dilemma after reading the reviews....... have these issues been resolved on the latest models or not, as I would love to replace my faulty SMEG kettle with fault free one.

I did call Smeg just after I bought it as the spout filter wouldn't lift out. I knew I had the last beautiful shiny chrome kettle in the store, so I didn't take the suggestion of returning it for an exchange. Now I wish I had.

Beautiful kettle - pity it lasted less time than a cheap plastic one.

Exterior chrome has become raised/ docking stand which powers kettle not consistent – Purchased the lovely Stainless Steel SMEG chrome for visual effect and style, noticed after 5-6 months the upper lid area was becoming raised, steam was coming from the lid edge during boiling mode. OMG soooo dissappointed – I purchased this stylish stainless steel kettle to go with my brand new kitchen it was my pride and joy shinny, new and bright to face the morning. Design fault – Top button started getting stuck 3 weeeks into use. After 3 months the button is basically unusable. Disappointing given how much these cost to buy. Top dollar for lowest quality!! – So i have been through 3 smeg kettles in 1 year. First one - letters peeled off within a week. Second one - steam went through the lid when i poured water and would burn my hand. Third - shorted out. Now my fourth - lid is stuck and wont open. Only had it for 4 months and warranty is out since i purchased first one a yr ago. Now my smeg matching toaster blew up. $400 down the drain.  Show details

Faulty Product – Same problem as everyone else in the forum. The push button lid got stuck after a few months of use. This seems to be a major fault in the products design and i'm not sure why a reputable company like Smeg hasn't recalled this kettle. I bought the matching toaster and they will now not match.
