Very disappointed in my White Smeg Kettle - I saved very hard to purchase this kettle and toaster - it is now 5 years old and a huge bubble has appeared on the outside of the kettle - I rang Smeg Customer Service and was told without a receipt they could no nothing - I am so upset, I really did love this kettle Show details
Nice looking kettle, which my wife loved the look of, but didn't last long for a premium brand – The kettle was a manufactured in early 2021, not sure when we actually purchased it after that but estimating around Sept 2021, but it broke down in April 2024 Show details
Looks good but………! – I loved this kettle, it was expensive at around $190 on sale, but I wanted it for my new kitchen. Sadly, the lid hinge snapped. Thin plastic I suppose. crossed that it doesn’t follow suit. Sadly the kettle only lasted me about 3 1/2 years so I’m not sure it’s worth the cost as my old kettle lasted me 25 years and was a fraction of the cost.

Enamel blistering after little use. This is 2nd smeg kettle since last May – Bought a white smeg kettle and toaster for mothers day in may 2020. Within 3 months kettle began to have huge blisters and bubbles under paint enamel. back order. Yet to receive my 3rd new kettle. If i didnt buy matching toadter i wouldnt bother getting the same kettle with this price tag i didnt expect it to be rubbish but i have had cheaper kettke that have lasted longer than this Smeg. Extremely disapointed.
Smeg have been outstanding and have resolved my issue. They were extremely prompt in replying and a resolution was reached.
Very disappointed with what l expected to be a quality product – We purchased the retro kettle and toaster in March 2019. Within a couple of months the S fell off the kettle. The kettle would only work rotating on the base, now it doesn’t work. Show details

Kettle is leaking still after following steps to descale.. not good enough for top brand – Disappointed that the kettle is leaking at~2yrs old. Given price, not great. We have descaled regularly and it doesn't seem to make a difference, cheaper kettles don't require this. Thanks

Too many problems for the price – After 18 months it leaks from the handle, retailer exchanged it no problem, after 2 years the replacement started to leak, the paint blistered and one of the letters fell off, my retailer was kind enough to replace it again even though it was out of warranty, would expect it to last more than 2 years for the price of it.

Expensive Kettle that looked great very briefly – Works fine, however discoloured within a few months from bright white to dirty white/yellow & cleaned with a damp cloth only bought for looks & because a reputable brand so was happy to pay the crazy amount, pretty disappointed! Show details
Disappointed – I absolutely love the look of this kettle but for the last 6 months noticed it has been leaking from the from the water gauge into the base and onto the bench, I can’t fill it more then 1 cup at a time. What a shame – Ok so to start off great brand and sexy looking kettle, but unfortunately has seal problem, plus you can't see the level of water in the kettle, (level gauge should have been on the side not behind thee handle!) also not sure what it is but have included a photo as it leaks from water level indicator. But other than that fantastic product good looking and great to be able to match it with other smeg products in the kitchen. Show details

SMEG kettle – 2 years old, out of warranty. Enamel now quickly parting company with the kettle. Smeg are sending me a new kettle as goodwill. Perhaps it was a faulty paint job. I generally find Smeg products to excellent. My ratings are for Smeg products rather than my faulty kettle. Show details
Great, while it lasted! Died 2 months out of warranty – Great kettle while it lasted - quick to boil & very quiet. That was until it died completely overnight. Hunted out the receipt to find it is just 2 months out of warranty. So now we have a dead, expensive, 14 month old kettle. response was maybe if it was only a month out of warranty. Very disappointed that it only lasted 14 months, especially considering our old Breville lasted 10 years and only cost $30.

Loving my White Smeg – I have the matching kettle and long toaster. Sure there are a few minor niggles, the jug is a bit heavy and the toaster takes ages. But this is far outweighed by the good looks of the appliances and the glamour they add to the kitchen. Very happy so far and I've been using them for six months already. Show details
The base leaks – So disappointed, purchased this kettle on my holidays to Australia. The Kettle is leaking (from the base??), sure wasn't worth carrying back in my hand luggage. Certainly wont be going to my local DJ's to buy a new one either. Which is a shame, as I love the look and had been toying with the idea of buying a stand mixer and toaster.
