solid performer and I'm looking forward to many more years of use. UPDATE Nov 2024 - The LED display is malfunctioning, with segment missing, causing incomplete or numbers. I just can't catch a break with this microwave!

Not happy – The condensation that builds up inside this microwave is unacceptable and it needs to be dried after every use, the grill function is a joke and barely capable of grilled cheese, the writing on the control panel is too small and difficult to read. Dripping condensation after every use – Unit purchased in mid-late 2020. Have not used the grill function. Works well as a microwave except that amount of condensation after every use is problematic and causes much frustration. Noted several reviews - from Danielle, Vicki, Art, thePaulines - mention the same issue. Is this due to a defect or poor design? Syd

So far so good – Having endured sub-standard products from LG, Sharp & Panasonic over the past 10 years we decided upon a Smeg (a la Red Dwarf) which supposedly offered a grill function at a reasonable price from Harvey Nicks. Importantly there is no paint smell or hot spots after several minutes usage. We use the unit several times a day sometimes for lengthy periods, so, let's see how we go.

Not the best microwave on the market – The microwave function of the oven is average but do not purchase this microwave for the grilling function as it only has the capacity to grill cheese on toast and not much else. It takes a very long time to grill and the result is not the best. Show details

Small Rust Spots Already Forming – Purchased this microwave together with accompanying trim kit approximately six weeks ago. Both items are now showing signs of small rust stains all over them. to restore there shine. I would find it quite unreasonable that this simple process could cause this amount of damage in such a short period of time. Such a shame as products where part of a kitchen renovation and now should I wish to replace I will need to organise the cabinet maker to return to remove for me in fear of damaging surrounding cabinets at my expense.

I have other stainless steel appliances throughout the house that I maintain with the same cleaning process and have never had a problem like the one outlined above.

Display stopped working – Microwave heats well, but the display intermittently stops working for long periods and then randomly works again. We are unable to use the microwave during these periods as we cannot see what the settings are. All we can use is the 30 sec burst. Very frustrating. Show details

Short lead – Haven't tested it yet. Was not happy with previous Smeg (It exploded) but it matches my oven so am giving this newer model a chance. It's pretty stingy of the company to have provided a cord which is shorter than the previous Smeg microwave. I had to purchase a new extension cord for it to reach the same power point.  Show details
