Smitten Natural Hemp Cat Litter

Good but for the dust – Good odour control and quite good for tracking. Only issues is that it's hard to distinguish the poop from the litter and one bag I got had a large percentage pellet dust which the cats hated.

What the fluff – Nope, my cat looks at me with a "really?" Face. This product was my only choice as my usual litter I get was out of stock, and this one was on sale. My oh my.. this is not clumping like it says it would. The smell of the litter is questionable. My cat has pooped outside of the litter tray twice now. And it's only been a week. It says on the packet you can change litter in like a month (scooping waste here and there) but I wouldn't trust it. I change the litter weekly. Not cleaning your cat litter and leaving it for a month with this method, I believe can cause health problems for your loveable fur baby. I would strongly advise against it.

As for the little poop pebbles i have missed amongst the pallets, it has formed mold on it.. i mean yeah I can see it now as it's moldy but couldn't before as it BLENDS IN with the pallets. (My eye sight is perfectly fine btw)

The only thing good about this litter is the face my cat gives me when I first showed her. The -saltiest how dare you and what the fluff is this??- kinda face was .. amusing to say the least.

Yuck do NOT recommend – The stink of litter is worse than the cat waste. Do not buy

An imposing odour – I have been looking for an eco friendly cat litter. I started with crystals, recommended by the cat shelter, then progressed to a light clay, which I noticed was causing paw prints. I then tried a super expensive litter that claimed it would keep the box cleaner longer, especially with multiple cats. I didn't find that claim to be true. So I thought I'd give the Smitten product a try.

I like hemp. I think it's a useful plant. I eat hemp seeds and they're mild tasting. However, these hemp pellets have a very strong and distinctive smell. Right away the laundry smelled bad. I'm surprised the cats went into the box. I wouldn't buy them again. In fact about a third of the packet remains. I switched brands as quickly as possible to remove the source of the pervasive and irritating odour. Not recommending this product, especially if you have a sensitive nose!
