Somat. Firstly, IT WORKS. Finish is way too expensive - plus I have found it to burn the glaze off some of my white dinner plates - and when Somat was released - I ditched the LOGIX tablets from Aldi - and went with SOMAT. All I can say is OMG. I have also tried the liquid version as well. Yes. it is expensive if you buy it at retailers - but still cheaper than FINISH. But I also found it on Amazon - and I can get it at half the price online when I buy it through Amazon - or score it while still on special at the local IGA. Why is it so good? Well, it is German for starters - not made in China. It has to be manufactured to European standards. My dishes come out dry and sparkling and I no longer have to put everything on a "heavy" cycle because the cleaning power of Somat can clean my dishes on a normal cycle - so I save energy as well. Worst dishwasher product I've ever used – The first pod I used didn't dissolve on the intensive cycle, so I ran it a second time. Dissolved but left the dishes dirty. I am using a second pod for the third cycle, so here's hoping! I have used a range of other products that all cleaned better than these pods, and have always dissolved first time in the dishwasher. FANTASTIC!!! – The Somat dishwasher tabs leave the glasses sparkling clean. No half dissolved tablets are left at the bottom. No residue on plates or glasses. It is best to have a long duration dishwasher, but we LOVE them.

teenage boy who literally brings out dishes a week after he has eaten or not eaten from the plate so last night I got him to bring out the dead as I call it. That was the night I was waiting for there was baked in ground beef and egg yolk baked into the plate. Usually this will not budge with our a rinse. I still used the same 2.5 hr wash cycle as I always do with this mess and the only thing left on the plate of ground beef was a little piece. I am so happy I am def going to change finally a dish wash tab that actually works.

Bets dishwasher tablets I've used – I have used all the major brands and some of the minor brands too. Out of all of them I have found Somat the best. Not very good – Tried Somat and am not impressed. It left me with unwashed cutlery and some sort of grease/oil coated on all my dishes at 45 degrees. I ran a second tablet through at 70 degrees and still there was oiliness. I used my Finish Ultimate tablet on eco wash, and guess what? Sparkling clean dishes. Show details

Awesome – I've used these and the 2in1 Gold and honestly I use the 2in1 as it's cheaper and performance is just as good. properly) put them in the bottom of the dishwasher, we chuck ours in the bottom of the dishwasher and it never fails. Always washes better so everyone should try it before saying they are rubbish.

I don't wash on a short cycle (like all other tablets) as hygiene cycle (highest temp for hygiene) has no short cycle on my Asko nor my Bosch, so stays on the 52 min wash cycle. Something also to keep in mind in addition to the above.

Value was great as it was half price and bonus flybuys, (do $15 for 51 tablets) at normal price I'd give them a miss and go back to Earth (and chuck them in the bottom of the dishwasher) as they are pretty flawless, being awesome for the environment and cheaper to boot with washing just as good.

Terrible would not recommend – I have tried the somat tablets and they are rubbish. They leave your dishes so dirty even after a long wash. I have to do 2 cycles to clean the dishes and they still did not clean. I went back to fairy tablets and no issue Show details

Perfect clean. Every time – Can't fault these tablets. Use in a 2yr old Bosch dishwasher. On the 29minute wash. Have not had any issues at all. Will purchase again. Waiting for specials. We find these tablets great for us. Show details

Perfect clean, no nauseating perfumes – I was having problems with Fairy dishwasher tablets foaming up in my Miele dishwasher causing the pump to suck air and shorten the sensor wash programme. strong perfume that you get with Fairy. Somat has a delicate fragrance that doesn’t taint plastics with nasty perfume. These are my go to now for dishwashing with my Miele.

The German quality is lacking in this product. Unclean cutlery and dishes – The name Henkel is a name that stands for German first-class quality. Somat must be an outsider and does not fit in the quality experience with the Henkel products. less unsatisfactory as my pictures will show. The forks and knives have been unclean after using Somat in my Miele. I am disappointed with the outcome and suggest looking for another product such as Fairy that I used before and was very happy with the outcome. My advise: Think twice before you spend a lot of money on Somat Excellence 4-in-1 Gel Caps. This German product is not on par with the German-made Miele dishwasher. Use Fairy if you want to spend the money.

Great for the price – Halfway through my first box of these, so far so good. Finally no overpowering smell (like the two leading brands) and good price. No negatives so far, they seem to clean as well, if not better than the others, particularly on shorter cycles. Show details

will not purchase again – My husband bought these gel caps on special to try. I always use eco on my dishwasher as we rely on water supply from rainfall ie. tank. The cleaning of items in dishwasher is hit and miss. I have had to repeat several washes and this is not very economical when we are trying to limit water use and electricity. Show details

Best tablet around – Love these tablets switched from fairy because of the after smell that was quite tainting. Easily dissolved leaves dishwasher smelling great and dissolves dirty dishes easily .. Find them expensive though if not on special .. but that’s my only downside

Poor wash, leaves food grit on dishes (other brands work fine) – We gave these a try recently and found our cups are all full of food specks/grit with this brand. Nearly new dishwashers and doesn't happen when we try other brands. Not impressed.

Too perfumed – The cleaning quality was excellent BUT there is a residual perfume in the dishes which I found too strong.I will go back to Finish as there is no residual smell, just clean dishes.I find Somat a waste of money, I only bought it as it was the cheapest ( on special) at the time.I used it on the eco system in my new Asko dishwasher. Show details

The 4-in-1 tablets are fantastic – Since we generally have heavy soiled dishes I only use the long cycle pots wash setting and the 4-in-1 Somat tablets provide a thorough /deep wash in my 12 year old Bosch dishwasher. Tablets are wrapped in dissolvable wrapping. the white part of tablet is in a powder form and the gel components are the blue swirl and red centre.

Note before: that I haven't tried these tablets on an eco or short cycle setting as that is not a cycle setting we use.
