Great head phones – I purchased the Sony MDR-XB400 head phones after deliberating on other brands to use with a Sony Walkman pocket radio. These head phones are an excellent choice as they have an excellent sound production & fit very comfortably. They also provide really good stereo sound. Also the ear pads are comfortable & well made of quality material.

Nice Bass and comfortable – For on ear headphones they sit very comfortably on my medium to large head. I can wear them for hours at a time without feeling any discomfort, maybe some sweat on a hot day but that is due to the leather cups. But other than that they are comfortable and don't hurt my ears. The foam they use is very soft, a step up in grade than your cheaper headphones.

Due to their basic all plastic design they are pretty light. Even though they are plastic they don't feel too cheap.

Aesthetically the design is subtle and not over the top like some headphones, they don't stick out too much with a low profile. The low profile is great for people like me with shaved heads. Big headphones look odd on bold heads especially if they have a large gap above the ears where the band meets the cups (IMHO). These come in different colours. I own the black with red trims.

The headphones sound great with 30mm drivers that pump out a frequencies from 5Hz to 22,000Hz they are super bassy. Perfect for listening to bassy songs like R&B, hip-hop, dance, pop and club tunes.

For classical, acoustic and rock where you would want crispier highs and mids, probably look elsewhere like Sennheiser at this price point. The cable used is flat to prevent twisting. Makes unwinding them easier when I take them out to use.

I have had these for almost 2 years and they still work fine and I have had no problems with them. They don't come with a carry case or pouch but I have a spare pouch that I keep them in when I don't use them. The headphones aren't folding but the cups swivel so the headphones can be stored flat.

Get these if you are:

-Looking in the $40-$60 price point.

-After a lot of bass.

-Low profile.

-Basic design

-Comfortable to medium-large heads

Don't get these if you are:

-After a premium feel.

-Don't like too much bass.

-Listen to lots of rock, acoustic or classical music

-Need headphones to take calls and change tracks.

If you love Dr. Beats. Son'y does it too now! – I Just bought it yesterday (12-22-12) at Sony pleasant prairy..Originally priced at $69.00 it was on sale for $34.00...What i love about this headphones is the headband, it contours in your head properly without overlapping above your head like dre beats does or any other headphones, The sound is amazing close to my Dre beats pro...I bought it for my Samsung galaxy note smartphone and is able to accept calls with this headphone since it got mic built mic/ +/- volume control into the flat wiring...Nice discovery!..
