Quality purchase – Amazing headphones truly worth the buy. Not only is the sound quality amazing (I listen to virtually every genre imaginable) but the noise cancelling is unparalleled (at least when I bought it; the updated version is probably better!) Regularly fly by airplane and this works a charm
Broken after 18 months – Owned these for 18 months when the frame snapped above the earpiece while I was taking them off my head. Sony won't repair or replace. In hindsight, Should have purchased Bose Show details

I've never heard music this way before! – These headphones are incredible! Recently purchased them for myself while they were on sale. After reading many reviews comparing different headphones, these were supposed to be the best, they do not disappoint. NC is very practical and works great. Can choose what I want to hear and what I don't, brings most ambient noise down to a quiet hum,… Read more
or eliminates it completely! The quick attention mode is great and the touch controls take a bit of getting used to, but they're very handy! Music is insane with these headphones! My Sony phone is LDAC enabled so I get the full audio experience, and it's very impressive. It brings high quality and clear sounds across all ranges. Bass is punchy but stable, mids and highs are very clear and well-done. NC and audio are easily 10x better than Beats Studio 3's. They're also very comfy on the head and I'm yet to feel any discomfort. Great headphones all round! Only downside I can name is the touch controls aren't usable when you are connected through the supplied jack cable, but for me that's a minor issue.
Very well done SONY *clap clap*.
Great Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones – I didn’t really know much about these headphones but Addicted to Audio has a really great sale price on them that was much better than the Bose equivalents. I have the Bose wired QC 25s and found the sound of the Sonys much more exciting and great bass response. Also the noice cancelling appears to block out more sound. The wireless functionality… Read more
is really great, they synch up very fast and the controls on the earpiece work very well. The battery lasts for ages and you can check the battery level anytime. My only gripe and reason for not giving them 5 stars is the comfort level. Although they are very light and durable, the ear padding doesn’t flare out like it does on the CQs and it isn’t quite as thick. After about half an hour of wearing them, my ears start to get hot and uncomfortable which is unfortunate because in all other areas, these are a really great pair of cans that I really enjoy using. I researched this problem and there are other people out there with the same issue. People on forums have posted successful mods by using aftermarket ear pads from other brands so I have ordered couple of pairs to see if I can get around this problem. Fingers crossed it works, if it does these will be a truely awesome pair of travel headphones.
Best in market with top marks across the board – Was looking for a pair of headphones that combined great sound and noise cancelling. Of course, being a pair of headphones, sound quality matters more than noise cancelling. The current benchmark for noise cancelling were (are?) the Bose QC35's, but from reading around, the Sony's were just a smidge behind. Given the fact that the Sony's… Read more
supported a large variety of audio file formats, had great to amazing battery life, almost as good noise cancelling, were comfortable for long periods of listening, had a good bluetooth range and had great to awesome sound to boot - it was a no brainer purchase.
While a bit more expensive, i'm happy to pay more for a well rounded experience with all the offerings.
For my smaller head, the fit and comfort is great. Sound cancelling does wonderfully well. Sound quality is crisp and clear, yet can reach down low for the bass lovers. Pair it with the (mediocre) Sony "Headphones Connect" app to allow some customisations to sound and equalizer to tailor it to your sound preference.
It comes with a carry case in the box and folds up well into a neat little compact package, so it's good for frequent travellers as well those with lots to carry but not much space.
The only things i would have a slight complaint about, i prefer physical rather than touch buttons/controls (you get used to it) and for me, the design was a bit too "ordinary". I guess it's good for the majority of the market, keeping a sophisticated, understated look, but nothing to stand out in a sea of headphone wearing crowds.
Definitely happy to (and in fact do) recommend! No need to buy into the marketed hype of other brands and get yourself something that's a better, more solid alternative.

Quality is amazing – the quality of this headphone is amazing. however, after I brought this headphone, a hal- year later, whxm3 it is release. not as comfortable as Bose. but the sound quality and other aspect are good. Last but not least, the touchpad on the right side is too sensitive. I don't like that functionality. Show details
Best purchase ever – I bought mine off eBay over a year ago. Before I knew the xm3 was coming out, they're probably priced even better now. This is the priciest purchase I've made in a long time, and honestly it's worth it. The GOOD: *the wire included is much longer than most, and really handy *the noise cancellation to my friend's qc35 (mark 1) is better *the bass… Read more
is really good *the wireless range is a fair few metres *they can get really loud *I've spent around 58 hours flying with these, and they drown out all the aeroplane noise. *I barely charge it. The BAD: *they're quite heavy. So your head does feel constricted *they creak sometimes, no cracks, but it is scary sometimes *the companion app doesn't let you alter the EQ when it's focusing on sound quality (rather than connection)
Brilliant noise cancelling, crisp sound, lightweight – I initially bought these headphones for a long haul international trip to watch movies and to use the noise cancelling feature to help me sleep. They certainly hit the mark. I use them daily to listen to podcasts and music while working around the house (cleaning the car, housework etc) or when the house is full of kids to get some peace! and sound quality is excellent and the wireless range allows me to leave my phone downstairs and walk around the house with absolutely no interruptions. Comes with a great cary case and a aircraft adapter which isn't included with the Bose QC35. It was a toss up between the Bose and the Sony headphones as they are both excellent units however I chose the Sony's because of the discounted price. Highly recommended.
Great controls, great noise cancellation, comfortable for long hours great battery life, GREAT SOUND – Actually the best bluetooth headphones hands down. Noise cancellation may not be as good as the Bose QC35 but is pretty much there. Where it beats Bose is the ease of use, battery life and sound quality. I could wear these all day long & not feel like I'm getting a headache. Show details
Best headphones I've used – Bought this last year in March. At that time I'd never spent so much on headphones but honestly it's changed how I want experience audio. These work great for plane flights as it greatly… Read more
reduces the noise heard from the plane which helped me a lot to sleep. I recently came back from a 16hr flight and these were excellent.
ideal headphones for commuting – Bought these headphones earlier this year. I'm now using them about 2-3 hours a day on public transport and when I am studying for uni. They are awesome for watching lectures, as well as blocking out general chatter/transport noise. Really like ambient sound function as well as touch controls. Only downside is that they look a bit bulky, but with their comfort, I don't really mind what they look like Show details
The best wireless headphone – I tried on both 1000XM2 and Bose QC 35 and honestly think that both are great headphones. Sony 1000XM2 has more features and longer battery life so I am very content with my purchase. The touchpad is not a new feature but it is worth mentioning since Bose does not have this feature. change the music. It is very intuitive and easy. You can even press long to activate Siri. Double tap to stop music or take a phone call.
Also, you can cup the right ear and disable the noise canceling and listen to others.
Quality Bluetooth Headphones – I purchased these headphones for my husband as a Father's Day gift and he absolutely loves them! Not having to worry about a cord when he's wearing these working in the yard is great, and the noise-cancelling feature is a must when he's on his tractor or using other loud equipment. The sound quality is also quite exceptional. Overall, while not an inexpensive purchase these are well worth the cost and I think I may have to buy some for myself. Show details

the new model has been released.
Look for the easy no knobs adjustable volume and tracking.
Also the comfort is superb.
Amazing sound – This is my first wireless headphones, I must say that I cannot connect it to half of my devices. I do not know what the problem is and it is very frustrating. The devices that I managed to connect work really well and the sound is amazing, they also block lots of noise and have no interference. Show details
Amazing pair of kit – I had recently decided my Beats Studio had to go. I work in Software in a very noisy environment and wanted something that had great noise cancelling and great sound to compliment that. These headphones will not disappoint, everything about them has been great, comfort, sound, noise cancelling, build quality, battery life. I don't have a single complaint, I would and have recommended these to anyone. Show details
Love my new headphones – Pros: - great sound, and can be personalized with their app - super lightweight - moreso than the Bose ones in the similar price category - fun controls - minimalist look Cons - Bluetooth cuts out sometimes. I’ve noticed this has stopped since i keep my phone on my left side when walking, closer to the Bluetooth receiver on the headphones Show details
Perfect headphones and a reliable brand! – This is my second purchase of Sony Headphones and second time very happy customer. I decided to write a review. They combine great sound quality and really good noise cancelling features and a fast charge! Could not wish for anything different! I would recommend them, they are worth all the money that they cost! Show details
Great Headphones + Research = Happy Customer, win win – This is my first pair of noise cancelling headphones. I must say i conducted about 10+ hoursa of research, including reviews here, as well as numerous youtube reviews etc. Hey if im going to spend $400+ on a pair of headphones i want to ensure im doing my research. 1. Very comfortable to wear. (though not as soft or comfortable as the Bose… Read more

2. The noise cancelling is amazing and frustrates my work collegues.
3. They connect seemlessly to all my devices.
4. I am excited to use them for upcoming flights.
5. The bass is amazing.
6. Biggest win for me was the fact that you could set your own equlization.
7. Battery life is great as well.
I would highly reccomend these.
Great sound – Arrived in solid packaging. Easy to follow user guide. Easy setup. took 4 hours to completely charge the battery before it could be used. Then great noise cancelling combined with excellent audio. Solid construction and stylish design. Would recommend to anyone who travels in noisy areas like planes or trains.Great piece of workmanship. Well done. Show details
Best Noise cancelling Headphones – I have been doing research on the headphones as I wanted to buy a good one with value for money. I shortlisted Bose QC35 ii initially. I also read reviews for Sony headphones WH1000XM 2. I tried them they are definitely better than bose in the sound output. Glamour quotient is also not less in anyway than Bose. Only thing i feel is its approx… Read more
35gms heavier than bose. But considering the features it offers its way far ahead than BOSE. Touch pad to control volume shuffle songs, just a gesture is required to stop the music and listen to anyone speaking to you. The list may go on. Seeing is believing. I strongly recommend them. Good Buy provided when they are priced around AUD300. Anything over this amount is not smart. Now they have Google assistant connectivity as well.
Excited but disappointed – Bought it from good guys when they had a 10% whole store discount was very excited, but these headphones do not make the environment completely silent on the bus also you can hear the bumps which gets mildly frustrating and if it randomly switches to ambient sound then you will be in for a shock (you can disable its auto adjust to environment) has… Read more
really cool features had lots of fun messing around with them.
Sticking to my anc earphones tho not sure why but they are definitely better than these headphones and less bogus. These are great headphones i presume for working in offices or on planes, but they are definitely not the best for everyday users or audioheads.

The best noise canceling headphone ever – The best noise canceling headphone on the market. The sound quality is pretty good and it is very comfortable to wear. Noise canceling function is amazing, barely hear the noise when the music is on. It is a little bit expensive but you have to tell it is worth it. Show details
Great Headphone but – Great Headphone, but, for the money, wish they were a lil louder, sound quality and battery are amazing (been to the gym about 25 times, and no need to charge). Picked these headphones up for a good price from Addicted to Audio (amazing/fast service). These headphones have some cool features, like controlling devices/app with… Read more
touching/swiping of the ear peices, can be a problem if your a gym person whose arms occasinally touches ear area (im sure this can be disabled). The app works well with the headphones too.
Would have given 4 and a half stars if possibe.
Noise cancellation is excellent – Excellent noise cancellation compared to QC 35 II's. No "Underwater" feeling like on Bose but when used at a quiet environment, a slight sea breeze kind of noise can be heard. But I prefer that than feeling pressure in my ears when using QC 35's. Sound quality is nothing to write home about. If you care only about sound quality choose headphones… Read more
suitable for that. Sound quality wise I would rate these at 4 out of 5 stars. Overall Sony's are a better package.
Just as good as expected – Sony products are usually good and these headphones are well up to scratch. Quite expensive but do what they say. Noise cancelling deals thoroughly with background continuous noise and very well but not perfectly with sudden transient noises. Bluetooth connection works perfectly for me, although originally a bit fiddly to connect to my tablet. I… Read more
use them mainly for audiobooks but music quality is fine for me. The lack of cable makes me feel a bit vulnerable in quieter places like parks - it would be very easy to grab them from behind and after all they are quite valuable!
I can't recommend HN as a buying source - they had them on 'offer' then after I paid admitted they had none but were waiting for new stock from Sony, and it took ages.. Lots of other outlets had them at the same or near price in stock.
Great headphone – This head phone is great and a very excellent-sounding, comfortable wireless headphone with effective noise canceli ng that measures up to something like the Bose QC 35 The only complaint was that it had a weird feedback noise when plugged into airline head phone jacks. Not sure why that is. Show details
Absolutely love these – I have had two other noise cancelling headphones previously and these were by far better. I tested them out with a reasonable level of music (nothing blasting in the ears) and with the noise cancelling on next to the running water in the fish tank and could only hear it if I was concentrating. On the plane there was a crying baby a few rows behind… Read more
me. I found that once I put the headphones on most of the noise was drowned out and I feel asleep without the irritating noise. Highly recommend to anyone for value compared to some other headphones offering similar for a greater price and/or less quality.
Perfect noise-cancelling headphone – I was looking for a noise-cancelling headphone to replace my broken one. At first, I was wondering between Sony and Bose QC35ii. Part of the reasons was Sony's price at the time is higher than Bose one. However, I'm very happy that I went with Sony. Sound quality is awesome. Plus the ambient function helps me easily concentrate on what's I'm… Read more
doing. Even better, it's perfect fit my head (for my previous headphone, I found it quite overwhelmed upon wearing).
It comes with a nice compact box. What I do not like is when I have to fold the headphone to put it back to the back. I have to be carefull, else it's broken. But with a perfect sound and noise-cancelling feature, no complaint should be allowed.
Sound is good – I've had these headphones for about 2 months now, and the quality of the sound is really good, and the headphones are comfortable. I was going to buy the Bose QC35ii, but Im happy I went with Sony. The sound on the Sony is better than the Bose, however, I think the Bose are more comfortable to wear. headphone to different device, even though there seems to be alot of people saying it can only connect to one device only. Although the headphones can't connect to two device simultaneously, the headphones can interchange connections between devices if you turn off bluetooth from the device not in use. The headphones are a bit awkward to fold up and pack back into the case, and there are a few reports that the headband can break, so Im always very gentle when turning off and packing up. Very happy with headphones otherwise.
Best headphones – I purchased these sony wh-1000xm2 during the boxing sales last year. i found them better than the bose which i tested in jbhifi. it is the best headphone with the noise cancelling option which is perfect for train or air travel. i recommend purchasing these headphones from sony as these one do not have the crackling noise. Blown my mind! – These headphones have been a fantastic christmas gift, clear sound quality with bluetooth due it it's support of APTx and I look forward to future support with Sony's formats. Bluetooth works well enough in most enviroments and it takes a heavy WiFI enviroment such as a shopping centre to cause any interferance. Is a worthwhile investnment if you're wanting to care for your ears and take public transport regulally! Show details
Solid NC headphones – I had never owned noise cancelling headphones before but I fly weekly for work so thought I should give it go. These headphones have a very even sound which I like. am not a huge fan of the touch controls as I touch them more by accident than n purpose. Cupping the ear to hear the ambient sound is a nice feature though. The app is also pretty pointless as syncing with my phone or device works fine without it. Very happy with my purchase though.
Excellent sound and ANC – I bought these headphones on boxing day for $317. I was tossing up between the Bose QC35 and these for a long while, but the sale pushed me over the edge. I am so glad I chose these ones, the sound is far superior to the Bose and the ANC is on par. the summer. Once you have these on you hear nothing except muffled voices. Love the touch pad on the right earcup as well, very handy to play/pause songs and activate ambient sound. Overall very pleased with these. The only thing that could be improved is the comfort, they are not uncomfortable by any means, but the Bose definitely have the edge.
What I was after – Was in the market for ANC headphones, and pretty much nailed it down to either the Bose QC, B&W PX and these. Due to stock level on the PX, I was unable to try before buying; plus couldn't justify paying the extra odd $150. Cabin pressure on the QCs were discomforting so the WH-1000XM2 really hit the mark.
