Terrible camera – Takes forever to register a QR code checkin. My work phone just needs to be waved somewhere near the code to work. The refuses to recognise a lot of codes. Show details
I Expected Much Better – My Sony XA1 Xperia that I purchased 19 months ago to be honest has been a dud. The battery was the first to fade after about 12 months, then two of the characters on the QWERTY keyboard gave up the ghost such as the letter P and the backspace <+ to delete/correct gave up, so I can text properly and type in to the Google search box. I used the… Read more
old Ericsson phones and they were pretty good but the Sony version now and particularly the XA1, is really to small in screen size and the size of characters on the keyboard are way too small for adult fingers. I'm going out this week to find something that's bigger and more reliable, I'd hoped for a better product from Sony, a brand I like to use such as my DVD, Flat Screen TV, stereo system are all Sony.
Touch screen is useless! – This phone is useless, have had mine repaired once after 6 months because the screen was not functioning to touch, when I received it back I did not install anything that I do not use and well 12 months later same problem is starting again. All other functions work like a charm, well I do not use bluetooth or wifi so I can not comment about them!… Read more
So you could just text and never use the letters that won't work, or you can bypass this phone all together (probably) by pass all sony phones, as I will be doing in the future.
2 phone in 15 month, and Terrible customer service from Sony – Bought this phone for big screen which is nice. After 5 months Wi-Fi kept coming off. Went through many backs and forth with carrier which changed the phone in April. Then second phone worked for 6 months then did the same pattern of WiFi coming off. Carrier said to call Sony. Well a customer service said to said her the phone since it was just 6… Read more
months old. But when I called back after making my arrangements to have a replacement. Another representative said he would honor the guarantee since the first phone was off guarantee. I explained to him that I am claiming for the second phone which is not 6 months old. SO CONCLUSION :*They do not honor their word which originally told me to send back the second phone which is 6 months old. and second do not give good customer service, 2 phones in 15 months. So will never buy anything Sony again.
Don't bother – What started as being good has turned out into a waste of money. Lucky it was not expensive. It is slow. When I'm typing text messages, some of the keys don't work and I find it very annoying. Also it has a habit of disconnecting from bluetooth and wi-fi which I had no issue with my previous phone. I thought I would give Sony another go but this will definitely be my last Sony phone. Show details
Does everything I need – I got this phone just before Christmas 2017 and it still seems to work okay. Sometimes, it is a little bit slow to register. For example, after I take a photo, it takes a moment to come up on the screen. Also, the edges of the screen have been inconsistent with touch; sometime I can't type in the letter 'p' on the keyboard. Other than these concerns, it's a good phone. Show details
Good value niche phone – I truly did not mind using this phone at all, the camera was disappointing as it's not a really cheap unit but the Helio p20 chipset was good both for the price. I loved the form factor as it looks good, stylish and distinctive and fits well in your hand. The dedicated camera button is so good and battery life also quite good, I also enjoyed the… Read more
Sony interface. Overall this is a decent phone that with a better low light camera experience (maybe a software update) and a fingerprint sensor would be a great value mid range option because the size is fantastic compared to the huge slabs our pockets must bulge with these days
