not great – ordered gluten free bangers and mash which was served with gravy. I assumed the gravy was gf as well, otherwise it wouldn’t be included which is what I thought. After I had already started eating a staff member takes my plate away and tells me that the gravy is not gf. I am a person with celiac disease so for this to happen even after clarifying multiple times that the meal is gluten free is not ok. I made a mistake on my end by not letting staff know about my disease however I assume that most people ordering gf options are those with celiac or a gluten sensitivity. Either way I do not understand why they would include the non gf gravy in the gf version as it is misleading and dangerous for those who need to worry about cross contamination.I am aware on the menu it says that gravy is included but there are many ways to indicate that the gravy they use is not gf and therefore cannot and should not be included in the gf option. I was given a new plate without gravy and the food did taste good but I spent most of my time at this place panicking about whether I was going to be sick or not. If you have dietary requirements and eat at this place PLEASE be careful.

Food is good, delivery times are long – The tavern’s food is good. The steaks can be a little bit chargrilled on top and meal prices are quite reasonable. However this means smaller portion sizes compared to some of the other pubs in town. Depending on how busy they are you can wait up to an hour for your delivery to arrive after the scheduled time.
