  Verified Tivoli X100 ELX 2WD, 1.6L Diesel

Best Kept Secret – I bought this as a demonstrator to replace a Peugeot 307 diesel, and haven't had any reason to regret that decision. They say that 'Tivoli' is "I love it" spelt backwards and in this case they are right - we do! We use it as an everyday drive (we live in regional NSW) where a trip to the shops is about a 80klm round trip and we regularly do a run… Read more

to the city or coast of about 850klm return so the diesel makes a lot of sense. Economy averages out to around 5.5 - 6.0 l/100k but drops below that on long open road trips. A real pleasure to drive and for a small car it handles our road surfaces really well, the suspension is well tuned ironing out the roughness for a very smooth ride. The 1.6 turbo diesel is quite nippy and smooth, makes easy work of hills and overtaking, not at all sluggish, rough or noisy in everyday operation. The auto is smooth and seamless, with a manual override if you feel the need to change gear yourself. There are lots of storage pockets and the glove box is the deepest I've ever had, it's like a tardis inside! Roomy with enough space for luggage / cargo, plenty of safety features, all the switches and controls are well placed and easy to use, comes with a 7 year warranty, and servicing is reasonably priced. Have done about 25,000 klm now and the only problem has been some loose trim material on the steering wheel, just waiting on a whole new steering wheel under warranty! no quibbles, no arguments! Recently returned from Sydney to home (about 450k) and the outside temp didn't drop below 42C (but went up to 45C!) for the entire trip and she didn't miss a beat, air conditioning kept us at 22C inside. All this and I got change out of $25k, couldn't be happier.
